Kapitel 29: Chapter 28

Location: Beverly Hills, California

"Thank you, Nathan. I appreciate you and your wife and your kind words. All we can do is keep praying. Yes, of course, I will tell her. Goodnight."

Tim Hallowell puts the phone down and sinks into his office chair.

He covers his face with his hands and takes a shaky breath.

There's a lump growing in his throat. His heart is bruised and battered. It's a losing battle trying not to yell or break something. His breath quivers as he exhales loudly, trying to rid himself of horrible thoughts.

Now isn't the time to lose control and cry. Tim has to check on his wife, Rebecca, soon. The last thing she needs is to see him crying. Tim and Rebecca have been together for thirty years, and she has never seen him cry.
