Kapitel 74: Broken Friendships (3)

"Next time, let me treat the two of you," Ayami suddenly spoke up, excitedly. 

"Aren't we splitting?" Asahi asked with a small smile, "I thought we were all going to pay equally." 

"..." Ayami wasn't the only one who was shocked to hear this. 

Usually, whenever Akira and Asahi went out to eat together, it didn't matter who was paying. Whoever received the check first would be the one to pay. It wasn't something they kept tabs on since they were both not stingy characters. In fact, they had never even thought of splitting the bill before this. 

Akira, as a gentleman, considered it only natural for one of them to pay the bill. Ayami, although much richer and at a higher position than them, was still a woman and he never considered her to pay the bill. 

It was odd for Asahi to suddenly bring this issue up. It was so odd that Akira almost wondered if Asahi had some deep-rooted grudge against this woman.
