Odessa didn't say a word to me, simply stepping her leg over my head as she walked away. I hadn't realized Vulcan was right behind her, and as I remained on the ground, he bumped his knee to the back of my head. "What is wrong with you?"

I jolted upright. "Nothing... I was j-just..."

He folded his arms across his bare chest. "Nothing, and I just caught you sleeping on my doorstep. I must look like a fool to you. I'll ask again, what are you looking for? Shouldn't you be dead and resting?"

I still couldn't believe Vulcan showed no remorse for what he had put me through, and had even wished for my death.

"I'm sorry," I said, bowing my head and averting my gaze in fear. "I came to call you and accidentally tripped."

Unfolding his arms, he shut the door and began walking away. "Came to call me. Why?"
