There wasn't time to continue the argument with Clare.

Prince Maxixe had already disembarked and his men were quite busy unloading the furniture from off the raft.

Clare was already in the center of things without being asked, giving directions as to which furniture piece goes where. 

Meanwhile Maxixe had already started his inspection of what Kaoma's team had done in the morning. 

His back was to her as he stood facing the moving water wheel, he was now wearing the same kind of khaki colored clothing as his men but he still managed to exude power.

"I'm impressed that you manage to accomplish so much with that small team in such a short space of time," he said without turning, how did he know it was her standing behind him.

He continued speaking, "it looks like you will have this place fully operational, up and running in little to no time.
