All the rumors that were swirling around are not based on your hard work but based on the hard work of your council members, ministers, and others. You are just boring the fruits of others' hard labor!" she said. 

He could say the person who was cooled down was now simmering up again. It would be a long day again for him and her. And a small day for resting.
