Kapitel 89: The Confusion
???: "Wind Cutter!"
Somebody cut the printer in half and saved Rio from being hit by it. Rio looked at his savior, Kiyo who just cut the printer. Kiyo took out something from his pocket and dropped it beside Meryna.
The object released some kind of gas that's been freezing Meryna's bone and flesh alive. Rio immediately pulled his sword from Meryna and backed off as his feet almost got caught in it.
Kiyo: "Rudy called it a freezing bomb, the bomb that contains liquid nitrogen and any other chemical content inside of it. One moment you get caught inside of it, you'll immediately get frostbite. Now, sleep young lady. May you have a great rest..."
Meryna tried to say something, but then she was frozen entirely, not being able to say anything even to move a single fiber of muscle.
At the same time, Ryuma and Mika joined them from the alley. Everything happens too fast. From the part where Rio's chasing Ten, Meryna interrupts Rio, Meryna gets pinned and then frozen. Everything happens exactly in 1 minute and 12 seconds. Explained why both Ryuma and Mika arrived late.
Ryuma: "This is..."
Kiyo: "She wouldn't give us a hard time for now. But it's a bad idea to leave her alone in here. Her comrade might come and obtain her body and then unfreeze her.
Rio: I agree, I recommended taking her with us to lower the risk of her coming back and biting us later."
At the same time, Ryuma is looking at the largest building in the city. It's a vertical rectangle shape with of glass window based on the outer part of the building. The twelve-story building with black color on the most part of it. As the others decide what to do with the frozen Meryna, Ryuma immediately realizes an important thing.
Ryuma: "Wait, where's Ten?"
The others fell silent as Ten's name came out.
"Ryuma: Rio? I'm asking you where Ten go-"
Kiyo: "When I got here, I saw that he entered this huge building."
Kiyo covers for Rio, who's giving Ryuma the silent treatment.
Kiyo: "And If I've seen correctly, it was that dwarf who's throwing the printer earlier."
Kiyo refers to Alex, the only dwarf in the school.
Ryuma: "Then, why did they not help Meryna at this time? They only throw one printer and that's it. Isn't that weird?"
Mika: "Maybe they expected Meryna to 1v4 all of us and didn't expect her to lose? Maybe that's why they run away."
Ryuma: "No, that guy most definitely has a backup plan especially when this happens. Something's wrong, it's as if..."
Ryuma looked at the huge tall building again.
Ryuma: "To lure us inside that's it."
Kiyo: "I see that there's no other way about it, but the question is do we separate or do we go all in?"
Mika: "Ok, I see where is this going now, because this mostly happens every time. We go, we separate. And then we somehow beat each one of them 1v1. A cliche and simple storyline..."
Ryuma: "So you wanna us to go all in together is that what you're saying?"
Mika: "Exactly Mr. Ryuma, that's exactly what I want to do. So we can have each other back when they've come right? (Actually I only just want to hide behind Kiyo so I wasn't the first one to die...)
Ryuma: " You know I can hear you right? Mr. watch each other back?"
Mika: "Ehh~ I don't know what you're talking about. Anyway, I'll be the first one to step in-"
As Mika was about to pass the doorframe, multiple spears came from the ceiling the moment Mika got close to the door. Luckily, the spear only almost hit him as Mika fell on his butt.
Mika: "U-Umm... I think I'll pass it to you Mr. President~"
Ryuma: "Then, if I may..."
With a smug expression, Ryuma walked to the broken glass door. But, the first step... Cause a confusion... Ryuma realized that he was not in the same place he'd been before.
Ryuma:("W-What?!")
The place is covered by smoke and dust, some goes inside his lungs led Ryuma coughed a little. As Ryuma coughs up, he hears the loud noise outside the smoke. The noise soon turned to voice, which became clear and cleared.
???: " Ma... Ryuma... RYUMA!!! Can you hear me?! What did he do to you?!"
Kiyo, holding Ryuma's shoulder as he shouted at him. Ryuma was clueless, as to what was happening inside his vicinity. Is Ten ambushed them as soon they entered the building? Speak of the devil, he was actually behind Kiyo all those times.
So, Ryuma was acting instinctively by grabbing Kiyo's arm and back off slowly. But his back stumbles to the flat wall, as if the front entrance has disappeared. Ryuma is confused, he realizes that he's sweating a lot all of a sudden. His breathing becomes heavier despite he didn't move much at that time.
Ryuma's gaze was locked on Ten, and that's when he realized that Ten was standing on the stairs. In this space, there are the stairs that go up which Ten was standing on. And then there's the stairs that led down. Ryuma was so confused he started questioning Kiyo.
Ryuma: "W-What just-"
Ten: "Quite confusing isn't it? In your perspective, you just travel from one place to another, not knowing how your breathing is too heavy, not knowing how your sweat flows like a river. Not knowing... How is your heart beating so fast in an instant...
Ryuma: "K-Kiyo, what... What happene-"
Kiyo: " Ten got a hit on you, and then you only stare at Ten not doing anything for half a minute."
Ryuma: "Eh?"
Ten: "Maybe it's easier if I show you..."
Said Ten, as he threw the glass shard on the floor.
Ten: "Pick it up, and stare deeply into its reflection. By then you shall learn the truth."
Looking at the shard of glass that was shining brightly, Ryuma was hesitant to follow what Ten said. But curiosity got to him as he picked up the glass shard. Kiyo who supports Ryuma's balance worries for him.
Clueless to what just happened to him, Ryuma decides to learn the truth as he gazes into the reflection of the shard.
No... Into the shard of the mirror.
