"It is running away," I said as I jumped from the dead body of Viperman and ran toward Targ, who had started running away.

It ran away the moment it saw we killed Viperman.

I did not waste any time and began to chase Lady Veronica not far behind me. The bastard is quite smart; it knew it would not stand any chance against three humans and thus began to run.
