Kapitel 179: I will play my role

She takes off her veil. 

Ye Jing-e stares at her round face and tries his best not to show his dismay. Her face is covered with a thick layer of makeup that even he can tell. Her lips are strangely red, and the dark circles or what did she even do to her eyes?

He doesn't want to judge the beauty standards of their neighbour kingdom, but he may have just wanted an ordinary or average-looking wife. 

"Stealth." She wipes the lipstick with the veil. "This makeup hides my actual face."

Maybe she can read minds.

"I am too old to romanticize our marriage," She tells him straightforwardly as she rubs her cheek. "It's a marriage of convenience. You even dislike me."

"Erm..." Ye Jing-e doesn't want any romance either, but he does hope for some companionship. They are still married. "I will treat you well. You are still my wife."

"I guess you just want an heir." She sighs. "How unlucky that you are to be married to me!"
