Kapitel 80: DEUS EX MACHINA

Luciano stood face to face with the reaper whose skeletal visage and hollow eyes seemed to pierce through to his very soul. A bone chilling coldness filled the air of the previously humid bedroom, sending shivers down his spine as the haunting words of the reaper echoed in his mind. Blinking in confusion, he could not but wonder if Grim seriously just urged him to instruct the mortal to return home.

As he tried to grasp the meaning behind his demand, his bemused gaze remained fixed on him. Did Luciano mishear him? "What?"

"Tell the mortal to go back home," Grim reiterated without missing a single beat, his voice a raspy warning that sent a shiver down his spine.

The words of the reaper struck a chord deep within, a chord he had no idea was even there to be struck. He could not help but feel a growing sense of unease.
