(Detective Tsukauchi POV)
I thought today I would just be able to hang out on my day off with my sister, but then I got a call from the commissioner in Tokyo to help out with a possible kidnapping case. The reason I was called for this of all people was because I'm one of the detectives looking into the recent kidnappings that have been springing up.
I was also called in because of my quirk which can easily detect when someone is lying, so I was one of the best suited for cases like this. Quickly, I made my way to the residence of the family whose only daughter was kidnapped last night.
When I got to the scene I asked one of the officers, who was there for evidence collection, what the situation was. He told me that last night around midnight the parents heard the sound of breaking glass and their daughter screaming, after they saw she was gone the father quickly called the police.
It seems the main reason they wanted me to check out the scene was to see if the parents were telling the truth in their statements, and also because this may be the closest thing to a lead we'll be able to get with the other kidnapping cases.
I went into the house to review the parents' statements, and to see if I could find any clues that could give us a lead.
When I walked into that house the first thing I noticed was the lack of family photos, or rather any photos with the Toga family's daughter in them. Usually, parents will keep those photos to remember special events with their kid(s). But not them, it was almost like they didn't want to remember her existence.
Cause hell even I have framed pictures of me and my sister around my apartment, and at my desk back at the precinct. There's also the chance that they're the type to keep scrapbooks instead, but I highly doubt it especially because of their expressions right now.
Instead of looking worried or scared for their daughter's safety, they instead look nervous and annoyed about this current situation. I already know which question I'll ask them after they restate their statements on the events, and if it goes how I think it will, we'll be looking at a CPS case along with this kidnapping case.
But, I can't help hoping that I'm just reading too much into the situation and that the girl at least has a loving family that wants her to come home safe and sound.
(Himiko POV)
After getting Lightning Body last night I managed to get all the way to the middle of the Ota district in Tokyo. Thanks to the speed it grants me and my small frame, I managed to not be seen too, even if I did have to take a couple of breaks in the alleys.
I even managed to find an abandoned apartment complex that, judging by the construction signs, will be demolished next week to build something else. So, decided to rest here for the day before I head out to the next city during the night. However, I did make sure to scope out the interior to see if there was anybody inside.
Luckily, other than some bugs and a dead dog, there was nobody in the building, so I went to one of the empty apartments and slept there. When I woke up in the evening, I decided to see, if whatever the system did to me last night to make my body more adaptable, changed my appearance at all.
I decided to use some of the broken glass from one of the windows to look at myself, and luckily there wasn't much that changed about my body. The only thing that did change was my eyes, which before were an almost golden shade, now look blood red. I'm beginning to think all the red involving my quirks may be because of the system. I mean seriously first it was the red panels, then the electricity from Lightning Body being red, and now my eyes.
Though I'm not complaining, after all just like Toga, I love a good bloody red.
But, for now, I should stop focusing on my new eyes, and get to training my quirks a bit. Who knows maybe I'll get one of them to rank up, without the Rank-Up Card that I got from the last mission. Though I should still figure out what to use that thing on soon, after all going up an entire rank could bring massive upgrades to whatever quirk I use it on.
Now it's time to get to practicing with my quirks, since until nightfall I don't really have much else to do but train them.
