Chapter 9: Red, Pink, and Clouds

~~~~
Haruto walked into the locker room. It was bustling with activity as the other male students changed out of their hero costumes. A few of them noticed he entered, and a few of them gave him a wave or a nod of acknowledgement. The atmosphere was lively and casual, with a sense of camaraderie in the air.
Haruto made his way over to his locker and started to change out of the costume. As he did so, a few of the other guys started to chat with him, asking about how his training session had gone and making small talk about various other topics.
Haruto noticed the other Class 1-A boys getting dressed back into their uniforms.
One of the boys, a muscular guy with spiky red hair, approached Haruto as he was finishing up.
"Hey man, nice job today," he said, giving Haruto a friendly slap on the back.
The guy chuckled and extended his hand for a handshake.
"Name's Kirishima Eijirou. You can just call me Kirishima, though."
"It's nice to meet you, Kirishima. I'm Haruto Narikawa, you can call me Haruto."
Kirishima grinned and shook your hand firmly.
"Haruto, huh? That's a cool name. I'm surprised I haven't seen you around much before today."
"It's kind of ironic since all of us are in Class 1-A and we share classes."
Kirishima chuckled at his comment.
"Yeah, I guess you're right. We do all have classes together, but it's not like we all know each other's names or anything. This school is pretty big, after all."
"It's also our second day, everyone is part of different groups currently."
Kirishima nodded in agreement.
"True, true. We're all just trying to find our place in the school and figure out how things work around here. But I have a feeling that we'll all be getting to know each other better in no time."
"We are a class, we have to unite as one. We'll be stuck together for 2 more years."
Kirishima smiled, looking excited by the prospect.
"You're right. We're all going to have to work together as a team, and we're going to have to get along with each other. I'm looking forward to seeing how this year goes."
As Haruto finished changing, Kirishima looked him up and down with a nod of approval.
"Looking sharp, dude."
"Thanks, you do too."
Kirishima chuckled and gave Haruto a playful shove.
"Thanks, but I always look good. Can't say the same for some of the other guys here."
"If there's one thing I appreciated today it had to be the girl's hero costumes."
Kirishima's grin widened at Haruto's comment.
"You and me both, dude. Those costumes were...impressive."
"They all looked amazing. Their hero costumes showed off their personalities. A school uniform is something we all wear, but it doesn't show us off as people."
Kirishima nodded, a look of agreement on his face.
"Exactly. The hero costumes are like a reflection of who they are as heroes. It's all about standing out and making a statement. A school uniform is just…boring."
"Obviously the other reason is how their costumes hugged their bodies. But, it'd be rude if that was the only reason."
Kirishima chuckled again, clearly amused by his comment.
"Hey, I never said it was the only reason. But yeah, that's definitely a perk of the hero costumes."
"Not like it was just us, I'm sure some of the girls were looking at our costumes for more than just aesthetics."
Kirishima raised an eyebrow at that, a smirk playing at the corners of his lips.
"Oh really? You think some of the girls were checking us out too?"
"If I was a girl and saw me, definitely."
Kirishima chuckled and gave Haruto a light punch on the arm.
"Damn, dude. You're full of yourself, aren't you?"
"I'm confident, I know I'm attractive. But, I can't let that define my personality. I have to show that I'm also a good genuine person."
Kirishima nodded, impressed by Haruto's self-awareness.
"That's a good way of looking at it. You can be confident and still have a good personality. Not many guys can pull that off, but you seem to be doing a pretty good job of it."
"Thanks, Kirishima."
Kirishima grinned.
"No problem, man. Just being honest here. But if I'm being honest again, you're probably the hottest guy in the class."
"I think everyone is attractive, just to different types of people. I'm hot to most people, while everyone has a type of person they're most attractive to."
Kirishima nodded, thinking about what Haruto said.
"You know, you're not wrong. Everyone has their own personal taste, and they're attracted to different things in a person. It's all subjective, really."
Kirishima looked around the locker room, noticing the various students mingling and chatting with each other.
"So, which one do you think is the hottest girl in the class?"
"It's hard to say honestly. Everyone is really attractive."
Kirishima chuckled, raising an eyebrow.
"Come on, you can't give me a straight answer? There's gotta be one girl you're attracted to more than the others."
"I guess Ochako, Mina, and Hikari are the people I find most attractive to my tastes. But everyone is still really attractive, but those are the only three I've actually gotten to know and talk to." Haruto said before taking a deep breath.
"But I won't lie, Mina is really attractive." Haruto continued. "Her pink skin, black sclera, her horns, even her like-able personality."
Kirishima chuckled, nodding in agreement.
"I know, right? She's got that unique look that makes her stand out from the rest. Plus, she's always so bubbly and energetic. It's hard not to be drawn to her."
"But there's one thing I really like in all the girls."
Kirishima raised an eyebrow, intrigued.
"Oh? And what's that?"
"Loyalty. All the girls here are the loyal type, ones who won't be unfaithful and wont cheat."
Kirishima smirked, clearly approving of Haruto's comment.
"You're right about that. The girls here are all fiercely loyal to their partners. They don't mess around or cheat, which is definitely a good quality to have in a relationship."
"That's why I like all the girls. I've never had a good relationship, ever at the end."
Kirishima's expression softened a bit as he heard that.
"Damn, that sucks, dude. You've never had a good relationship? What went wrong with them?"
"I guess there was never enough communication and honesty. At the end of each relationship I got cheated on."
Kirishima frowned, clearly not liking what he was hearing.
"Seriously? Those girls were all just cheating on you?"
"It was when I lived in America, it's not important anymore. I've moved on and changed as a person."
Kirishima nodded, understanding that it was a sensitive topic for Haruto.
"I get it, dude. But still, it sucks that those girls didn't treat you right. You deserve better than that."
Haruto heard footsteps coming up to them as they left the locker rooms.
Kirishima turned to see who was approaching, and raised an eyebrow as he recognized the person.
It was Mina, who had a cheerful smile on her face as she walked over to Haruto and Kirishima.
"Hi, Mina." Haruto waved at her.
Mina's smile widened as she waved back.
"Hey, guys! What're you two talking about?"
"Gossip and the battle trials we had in All Might's class earlier."
Mina's eyes lit up at the mention of the battle trials.
"Oh, right! Those were so much fun! You guys did great out there!"
"Kirishima, who did you get partnered up with?"
Kirishima smirked, crossing his arms over his chest.
"I got partnered up with Sero. And we crushed it, obviously."
"Nice! Midoriya and I didn't have too much trouble with Hikari and Bakugo. I was really excited for a fun battle."
Mina chuckled, shaking her head.
"Yeah, those two are a real handful. But you and Midoriya handled them pretty well, I have to admit."
"Midoriya has incredible analytical abilities. I have my strength and quirk."
Mina nodded in agreement, her eyes sparkling with admiration.
"That's true. You're both really strong in your own ways. It's always fun to watch you guys in action."
"It was fun to put on the villain persona."
Kirishima chuckled at Haruto's comment, while Mina raised an eyebrow.
"Villain persona, huh? That's an interesting way to put it."
"It makes them seem cooler than they actually are. Most villains rant and tell their plans to the heroes. The worst villains are actually the ones who are calm and calculating."
Kirishima nodded, clearly agreeing with Haruto's assessment.
"You're not wrong. The most dangerous villains are the ones who don't get caught up in their own grandstanding and actually think things through. They're the ones you have to watch out for."
Haruto looked and noticed Hikari was still standing outside the locker rooms from before.
Mina followed his gaze and saw Hikari standing outside the locker rooms.
"What's Hikari doing out there?"
Hikari was leaning against the wall, lost in thought still. As Haruto approached, she looked up and gave him a small smile.
"You okay, Hikari? I know you said you'd just wait here, but I didn't actually expect you to."
Hikari shrugged, her smile faltering slightly.
"I just needed some fresh air. It's stuffy in there."
"You want to go outside? School is over for the day now."
Hikari thought about it for a moment before nodding.
"Yeah, I'd like that. I could use some fresh air and some time to clear my head."
I waved to Kirishima and Mina. Kirishima and Mina waved back, with Kirishima giving Haruto a knowing look.
The duo walked out of the school building and into the cool evening air. The sky was starting to turn a beautiful shade of orange and pink as the sun began to set.
Hikari took a deep breath, enjoying the fresh air and the peacefulness of the surroundings.
"This is nice," she said, her voice soft.
"Yeah, it really is."
The duo walked in silence for a few minutes, enjoying the quiet and the beauty of the evening.
"So, did you really have to use your quirk on me earlier?"
Hikari finally broke the silence, her tone teasing.
"When I made you levitate?"
Hikari chuckled, remembering the feeling of being lifted off the ground.
"Yeah, that was a little embarrassing."
"I'm also sorry it wasn't the most comfortable thing. I had to control the energy tightly so as to not let you attack back. Al so I could capture you."
(A/N: Bro I swear to god my dog becomes like Hound Dog, the moment she goes outside she becomes all bark, nothing else. :skull_emoji:. This was not needed but it's funny, womp womp.)
Hikari waved her hand dismissively.
"No worries, I get it. You had to do what you had to do. And besides, I think I could get used to being carried around by you."
"It's a lot more comforting when you're actually able to move your body whenever I levitate someone."
Hikari smiled mischievously, a playful glint in her eyes.
"So you like it when I can move around, huh?"
"We both know I didn't mean it like that, Hikari~"
Hikari chuckled, clearly enjoying teasing Haruto.
"I know, I know. But I just couldn't help myself. It's so easy to get you flustered."
"Flustered? I'm straight-faced, calm and collected."
Hikari raised an eyebrow, her smirk widening.
"Really? Then why are you blushing right now?"
"Am I?"
Hikari giggled, her eyes sparkling with amusement.
"Oh, yeah. You're blushing quite a bit."
Haruto pulled out his phone and went to the camera app.
He held up his phone and looked at the camera, and sure enough, there was a slight flush on his cheeks. Hikari couldn't help but laugh at the sight.
"I guess I am."
Hikari laughed harder, finding Haruto's blushing face absolutely adorable.
"Aww, look at you! You're so cute when you're embarrassed."
"I'm not really embarrassed, Hikari." Haruto's tone was still normal, despite the slight flush on his cheeks.
Hikari rolled her eyes, not believing his claim for a second.
"Sure, keep telling yourself that. But your blushing cheeks tell a different story."
Haruto reached out and began to pet Hikari's head, her pink hair under his hand.
Hikari was surprised by the unexpected petting, but she didn't pull away. In fact, she seemed to enjoy it, leaning into his touch.
Hikari let out a soft sigh, her eyes fluttering shut as he continued to pet her head. It was almost as if she was a cat being petted by her owner.
"Just like a cat, how adorable~"
Hikari's cheeks flushed slightly at his comment, but she still didn't move away. In fact, she seemed to be leaning even more into his touch, her body relaxing under his gentle caress.
"Look who is flushed now,"
Hikari's eyes opened slowly, her face still red from embarrassment. She pouted slightly, trying to hide her flushed cheeks.
"Sh-shut up…"
Haruto stayed silent as a smug grin appeared on his face. Hikari pouted even more, crossing her arms in a huff. But the blush on her face only grew deeper, giving away her true feelings.
Hikari let out a frustrated huff, knowing that he had completely flustered her. She wanted to say something witty back, but the words just wouldn't come out. Instead, she continued to pout and sulk, her face growing redder by the second.
Haruto stayed silent and looked away, looking at the orange skies as the sun began to disappear.
Hikari glanced at the sunset as well, trying to distract herself from her own flustered state. The golden rays of the sun painted the sky with a beautiful orange glow, making the moment feel even more intimate. Despite her attempts to compose herself, she couldn't help but steal glances at Haruto, her heart still racing from his teasing.
Hikari let out a small sigh, realizing that she was losing the battle. Her eyes continued to dart back to Haruto, unable to look away for long. She was captivated by his presence, his charm, and his ability to fluster her so easily. As the last rays of sunlight disappeared behind the horizon, the sky grew darker, and the air seemed to take on a different quality.
"Hey, Hikari?"
Hikari was snapped out of her thoughts by his voice, her eyes focusing back on him. She tried to maintain her composure, but her voice still came out a bit breathless.
"Y-yeah?"
"Don't you have to go back home?"
Hikari's eyes widened as she realized the time. She had lost track of it while being flustered by Haruto.
"Damnit, you're right... I should get going.."
"Has the subway train already gone to your stop for the last time?"
Hikari sighed and pulled out her phone to check the train schedule. After a moment, she nodded.
"Yeah, it's gone already… I'm going to have to wait for the next one…"
"When is the next one?"
Hikari checked the train schedule again.
"Looks like it'll be at least an hour to two…"
"What time is it?"
Hikari glanced at her phone again.
"Almost 7:30…"
"I would suggest you could stay at my place for the night. It's dangerous to ride the subway and walk home well past 8-9 PM."
Hikari's eyes widened again at his suggestion, her cheeks flushing slightly at the thought of staying over at Haruto's place. She bit her lip nervously, considering the implications of his offer. After a moment, she spoke up again.
"You're sure that's okay…?"
"I live alone and I have guest rooms if that's what you're concerned about."
Hikari nodded slowly, still feeling a bit uncertain. But his assurance that he had guest rooms made her feel slightly more at ease.
"Okay, then… I guess it's okay…"
"It's just for tonight, and your parents probably don't want you to ride the train alone and walk home alone at this time."
Hikari nodded again, her resolve growing stronger. She knew he was right, and that it was safer for her to stay at his place. Besides, she couldn't deny that the thought of spending the night with Haruto was somewhat thrilling.
"You're probably right… I'd just be a burden if I tried to go home alone…"
"You aren't a burden, Hikari."
Hikari's heart skipped a beat at his words. She felt a strange mix of emotions, including gratitude, warmth, and something else that she couldn't quite place. Her voice was softer than before as she responded.
"You're sure about that?"
"You're my friend, even if we've only known each other for two days."
Hikari smiled at his words, feeling touched by his sentiment. The idea that Haruto considered her a friend, even after such a short time, meant a lot to her.
"Thank you…"
"You have a strong quirk, you can use your snow clouds in so many ways."
Hikari chuckled at his comment, feeling a sense of pride in her abilities. She had always been proud of her quirk, but it was rare to find someone who understood its potential like Haruto did.
"Yeah, it's pretty versatile, huh?"
"Let's start walking, I think Midoriya and Bakugo stopped their conversation a bit ago. They were pretty loud, I even think I heard a bit of crying."
Hikari chuckled again, shaking her head slightly.
"Those two are always so loud and dramatic. I wonder what they were arguing about this time…"
As we walked, the evening air grew cooler, and the street lights flickered on, illuminating their path. The city was starting to wind down for the night, and the streets were relatively quiet.
The duo walked in silence for a while, the only sound being their footsteps and the occasional passing car. Despite the silence, it wasn't uncomfortable, and Hikari found herself enjoying the simple companionship of Haruto's presence.
As they continued walking, Hikari couldn't help but steal glances at Haruto every now and then. Hikari noticed how the streetlights cast a warm glow on his face, highlighting Haruto's sharp features and making his golden eyes seem to glow. He was undeniably attractive, and she found herself growing more drawn to him with each passing moment.
"It should be around the corner, Hikari."
Hikari nodded, snapping out of her thoughts. They turned the corner and approached a small, cozy-looking house. It was simple but welcoming, and it seemed to fit Haruto perfectly.
Haruto approached the door and unlocked it, letting Hikark go in first.
Hikari smiled as he opened the door for her, stepping inside the house. The interior was just as cozy as the exterior, with warm lighting and a welcoming atmosphere. She looked around curiously, taking in her surroundings.
"I can let you borrow a pair of my clothes for the night. You can take a shower."
Hikari nodded, feeling a bit relieved at the offer. She was glad that he had clothes she could borrow, since she hadn't packed any extra clothes in her backpack.
"That would be great, thanks…"
….
Haruto led Hikari upstairs to the bathroom, gesturing towards the bathroom door as they went.
"The bathroom is right there. Feel free to take a shower and get comfortable. I'll grab you some clothes."
Haruto left Hikari to take a shower, heading to his closet to find some clothes for her to borrow. He rummaged through his drawers, trying to find something that would fit her. Eventually, he found a pair of shorts and a t-shirt that should be big enough on her.
Haruto returned to the bathroom door, knocking gently to let her know he had the clothes. Haruto could hear the sound of the shower running on the other side of the door, and he waited patiently for her to finish.
A few minutes later, the shower shut off and Haruto heard the sound of the bathroom door opening. Hikari emerged, her hair damp and her skin glowing from the hot water. She was wrapped in a towel, looking slightly self-conscious as she saw him standing there with the clothes.
Haruto held out the clothes to her, trying not to stare too much. He couldn't help but notice how the towel clung to her body, accentuating her curves in a way that made his heart race.
Haruto tried to ignore the way his pulse quickened as he watched her take the clothes. She smiled shyly, her cheeks flushing slightly as she realized that Haruto was trying not to look at her. She quickly wrapped the towel around herself tighter, as if trying to hide her body from view.
Haruto averted his gaze, looking down at the floor as she started to get dressed. The sound of her towel dropping to the floor was enough to make his heart skip a beat, and he could feel his face growing hot. Haruto had to fight the urge to sneak a peek, knowing that it would be incredibly disrespectful and inappropriate as friends.
Finally, Hikari finished getting dressed and cleared her throat, signaling that she was ready. He looked up at her, trying to act nonchalant despite the way his heart was still racing. She looked cute in Haruto's clothes, the shirt and shorts slightly oversized on her petite frame.
Haruto forced a casual smile onto his face, gesturing towards the hallway.
"Let's go downstairs. I'll make us some tea or something."
Haruto led Hikari down to the kitchen, still trying to calm his racing heart. He busied himself with making tea, trying to focus on the task at hand and not the way her legs looked in those shorts.
"I'll show you to the guest room after the tea, Hikari."
Hikari nodded, taking a seat at the kitchen table. She looked around the room, admiring the decor and atmosphere of the house. Despite her nervousness, she seemed to be at ease here, and Haruto couldn't help but feel a sense of pride in being able to provide a safe space for her.
Haruto finished brewing the tea and poured two cups, handing one to Hikari. He took a seat across from her at the table, trying to keep his eyes from wandering too much.
He took a sip of his tea, enjoying the warmth and flavor. The room was quiet except for the sound of them sipping the tea. Despite the silence, there was an unspoken tension between them, an awareness of each other's presence that made the air feel charged with electricity.
Eventually, Hikari broke the silence, looking up at Haruto with a slightly hesitant expression on her face.
"Hey, can I ask you something?"
Haruto raised an eyebrow, curious about what she wanted to ask.
"Sure, go ahead."
She paused for a moment, gathering her thoughts. When she spoke again, her voice was soft and uncertain.
"Can I...ask you a weird question?"
Haruto chuckled softly, amused by her hesitance.
"Of course you can. You can ask me anything, y'know."
Haruto leaned forward, resting his chin on his hand and looking at her with a playful smile.
"Come on, spit it out. I promise I won't judge."
Haruto could see her blushing again, and he had to suppress a laugh. She was so cute when she was nervous.
"Oh come on, you can't leave me hanging like this. Now I'm just dying to know what you want to say."
She took a deep breath, clearly still a bit nervous. After a moment, she spoke again, her voice barely above a whisper.
"Can I...tell you a secret?"
Haruto set his cup down on the table, leaning forward slightly as he nodded. The question being changed to a secret, curiosity exploded in his eyes.
"Absolutely. You can tell me anything you want, I promise I won't judge you."
She looked down at her hands, fidgeting nervously with her fingers. It was clear that whatever this secret was, it was weighing heavily on her mind.
"Okay...well...here goes nothing..."
Haruto sat quietly, waiting patiently for her to continue. The anticipation was almost unbearable, but he could tell that she needed a moment to gather her courage.
Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, she looked up at Haruto, her sky blue eyes locking onto his.
"I've never...kissed anyone before..."
….
The morning sun streamed through the window, casting a warm glow over the room. Haruto woke up, stretching and yawning as he slowly came to consciousness. He laid in bed for a few moments, his thoughts drifting back to last night. Hikari had slept in the guest room, and he couldn't help but wonder how she had slept…
Haruto slowly began to recall the dream he just had and how he acted like such a virgin.
Haruto got up and changed into a tracksuit, getting ready to run again and do his daily routine. He had to walk with Hikari to Yuuei today.
POV Change-
"Did you see this?" A guy with a raspy voice asked, setting down a newspaper. "It says he's a teacher…"
The guy set down a shot glass on the newspaper. An auburn colored liquid was seen inside the shot glass, water dripping on the outside of it. The water dripping down the outside of the cup quickly made the newspaper wet and soaked.
"Hey." The raspy-voiced male said as a smokey guy in a suit looked at him. "What do you think'll happen if the Symbol of Peace…"
The light blue haired adult stared, a crazy psychotic look in his eyes.
"…is killed by villains?" The light blue haired adult finished his question, his tone contemptuous and incredibly excited.
