Kapitel 19: Not good enough

Tiana's point of view:

It's already night. The moon is taking a huge part from the sky, or it's just me that believes that the moon is alive, and watching my each and every movement.

My hand darted toward the necklace my grandmother gave me, then all that I've seen in her mind started hunting.

It's way too much for my mind to handle. I can't believe that my entire life was a huge joke. None of the people I used to trust were trustworthy. They all lied to me and schemed behind me. I hate how naïve I'm.

My father did not only kill my own mother but made me believe that she gave up on me. That exact-fact kept killing me each and every day in my immortal life. It feels sick to know that you are not good enough and that people are willing to leave just not to be by your side is the worst a person can do to you.

I've always tried to stand strong, and not show weakness, to follow rules, and never to break them, because I was afraid that if I didn't the remaining people in my life would leave me.

I cared about the people around me and forgot to care about myself.

Looking at the shining moon in the sky, my heart felt a bit eased. Funny how it is when you don't even know who you are.

My fingers kept playing with the necklace hanging over my neck, then I wondered. Is it really what's keeping me from becoming one of those wolves I hated?

Well, my mother was one of them, not as human as I used to believe.

I wanted to take off this necklace and to see what creature I am, but I made a promise to my grandma that I'd be waiting for her.

Speaking about her, she's still off to me, Part of me wants to trust her, and meanwhile, the other part keeps warning me about her.

She is a mystery to me, from what I learned about werewolves. They are strong and might represent a real threat to vampires. Yet, they are not immortal.

So how could she be alive, and why she doesn't age as wolves do?

All these questions haunt the hell of me, and until I'm free from this cage, I can do nothing but to follow her.

I kept waiting about hours until the room's door busted open.

" Where have you been?"

" Tristan wanted to punish you for what you've done to me, and it wasn't easy to convince him to let it go."

While she was explaining, the dumb me rejoiced the moment she heard Tristan's name, only to be disappointed by how cruel my imprint can be.

" Are we leaving tonight?" I asked her, and she started explaining again.

" We won't have another chance. It's a full moon, cursed wolves got stronger in such a night. I believe that you can feel that too."

I nod confirming what she just told me while she continued explaining.

" If we got caught, I might get the chance to fight and win. Unlike other nights. Also, a witch that works for me will work on reversing the spell that keeps you locked on this territory."

" There's one other thing," I decided to add. "Vervain! How would I cross it?"

" You never tried to cross it? Haven't you?"

I shook my head as I was trying to like her know that I've never tried it before. "I'm a vampire, it would be dumb to even think to get near to it."

She chuckled before she spoke again.

" No you're not! You are a hybrid, Vervain in fact doesn't affect, and neither wolfsbane does."

I felt like the dumbest person ever, as she explained. Still, no one can blame me. Fear can do wonders on keeping us locked into corners, and that's how my entire life was.

'Let's go!" She suggested, and I followed her. We jumped out of the packhouse from a window, and the moment her feet touched the growled, she shifted to a breathtaking silver wolf.

Her wolf was a huge size, I got to admit. Still, it wasn't as big as Tristan's dark wolf.

Why the hell am I thinking about him? I cursed myself inside of myself, then decided to focus more.

" Let's go!" She shouted through my mind.

" How can you do that?" I asked in my mind, and surprisingly, she answered me.

" You're my offspring, which means you are part of my pack…"

She started, and I continued for her.

" …Pack members can share a link together."

" Exactly! Now let's go before we got caught."

I nod, and before we can move a step. The human Tristan along with a bunch of shifter wolves circled us.

" Leaving without saying goodbye! That's rude from an alpha, and royalty member!"

In my entire life, I knew that I wasn't as lucky as everyone was. Yet, I never expected my lack of luck to get that worse.
