Kapitel 1: Memories Return
In a suburb of Manhattan.
A five-year-old boy is lost in thought, with signs of confusion on his face. He is gazing at the sky while lost in his memories, remembering the past. What past could a five-year-old have, you ask?
Isaac White, the boy in question, had just returned home from the hospital after falling off the stairs and sustaining a minor concussion. After the accident, he woke up with a set of strange memories, which he now recognizes as memories from his previous life. He was also named Isaac, and he was a famous geneticist and biologist. His last memory was of an experiment gone wrong, resulting in his death in 2033 at the age of 35.
"So I was given another chance," thought Isaac as he began to look at his current memories with a more mature mindset this time around.
And this is the reason for his current confusion, as in addition to supposedly reincarnating, he now knows that it is the year 1995. He was born five years ago in Manhattan, NY. His father works in the military, while his mother works as a nurse. He has a sister who was just born two years ago.
He began to think about his strange situation and the inexplicable world he was in. He asserts that he reincarnated in the Marvel universe as Captain America. Steve Rogers was a real person who fought in WWII. He himself has a lot of comics about Captain America and has asked his dad about the character on multiple occasions. In addition, Stark Industries is a real company with a teenage Tony Stark at its helm.
"Of all the places I could've reincarnated, why does it have to be Marvel?" exclaimed Isaac as he looked at his small hands. Knowing the level of some beings here and the absurdity of technology in the Marvel universe is quite high.
He sits in his room, contemplating what to do in this situation. A while later, he gathers himself and thinks, "Since I am here, let's explore the limits of the human body with the help of the absurd technology born in this world." As he thinks of this, a flash of determination appears in his eyes.
Isaac's small hands trembled slightly as he clenched them, his gaze drifting over the familiar, yet alien surroundings of his room. His mother's call broke through his thoughts, grounding him momentarily in the present.
"COMING"
As he heads out of his room, he sees his family at the dinner table and feels a sense of incongruity for a moment. He was an orphan in his previous life and was always busy, so he never got married. The familial atmosphere suffusing the dining room is quite foreign to him.
"How are you feeling now, son?" asks his father, who is usually busy but came back early due to Isaac's injury.
"Better, Dad. The headache's gone. Just... adjusting to everything." replied Isaac, waking up from his reverie, and after adjusting his mood, he gradually began to return to his usual behavior while interacting with his family during dinner.
After finishing his plates, he thanks his mom for the food and returns to his room to check on his body. Sadly, he was reborn into a normal body with nothing special, and he doesn't have any cheats.
'Ahh! I guess I should be thankful for this chance and not be so greedy' exclaimed Isaac before going to bed. A lot has happened to him today, and he needs some rest.
And so life goes on, and Isaac began slowly acclimating to his new perspective, interacting with his family, showing his talent in biology growing up, while always remembering to do some exercise and try meditation because he didn't know what would happen in the future. Maybe he can awaken a talent for that mystic arts or something.
'I am a five-year-old now; let me have some dreams'
10 Years Later
At Columbia University in New York, we can see Isaac in his own private lab, reading some documents. As he has shown, he was a prodigy from a young age. He was able to skip grades and join college at the age of 14, where he started his own lab and produced some papers in biology in the field of DNA studies.
He discovered the various minute differences between the DNA in his previous world and the one in the Marvel universe, which allowed him to make progress in his research. He was even invited earlier this year to the research team of Dr. Bruce Banner in Culver university, but he declined, knowing about the military's involvement and fearing that he would change the events and maybe prevent the birth of The Hulk.
The reason he is afraid of changing something major in the timeline is his fear of the TVA. He doesn't know if he has already been detected by them or if his reincarnation is considered normal, but he doesn't want to change something major and find out.
'I wish I had watched the series of Loki and not just some tidbits on the internet, lets not think of something I have no control over' thought Isaac as he was working. And as he expected on march 17th The Culver University Press publishes an article about an explosion in the science lab,
Isaac chooses to focus on his own research. He is specifically looking for the X gene. He knows that this timeline is not the one with the X-Men, but the gene should also be available but dormant. As he had studied the human genome extensively in his previous life, he soon found out some subtle changes and is narrowing down to find the X gene, which was planted by the celestials in early human development.
"I am in the Marvel universe; it will be a shame if I remain ordinary here. Even if I reach a roadblock regarding the X gene, I can always go to Kamar-Taj or something," Isaac continued his musings while working.
A month later, he found what he suspected to be the X gene; however, because he couldn't get a sample of an activated gene, he is not 100% sure. He knows that some people activate this gene in extreme stress; however, he can't bring himself to do cruel experiments on people, and the other way is by exposure to cosmic energy.
He knows a lot of cases where people in the MCU got their powers from exposure to cosmic radiation, like Captain Marvel, who was exposed to the tesseract, or the Maximoff twin, who got their power from exposure to the mind stone. However, he got no access to the infinity stones, so he is trying an alternative method he was researching before.
His study of the human body over the years has shown him how complex and magnificent this creation is. He discovered that some sets of genes operate differently in different body locations. He defined the point of the activity in the body as genetic base point. He theorized that, for example, if he activated a special genetic base point in his head, he could increase his thinking speed, and if he activated a specific one in his spinal chord, he could increase his reaction speed, and so on.
"I must synthesize an elixir to excite the genetic base points and activate them, but I will also need a medicine to stabilize my gene activation, or a gene collapse might happen."
Isaac's research was top secret; he was doing it alone and didn't involve anybody in his core research, so his progress was slow. If not for his past life's results and the data of his predecessors, he wouldn't have progressed that much on his own. He spent more than 10 months synthesizing the elixirs until he came up with some prototypes and started experimenting with them on animals.
After experimentation and modifications, he produces the two elixirs that he deems safe enough to consume; he calls them the Genetic Compound Chain Allele Elixir and the Genetic Activation Stabilization Elixir. The reason he is in a hurry to administer the elixirs is that it's already the end of 2005, and soon the troubles will come one after another. From the New York Invasion to Thanos' snap. He doesn't want to be helpless in front of those ordeals.
'Plus, who am I kidding?, How come I reincarnated in the Marvel universe and I don't try to get a superpower?' thought Isaac while watching the two elixirs in his hands. He had made enough preparations and closed the lab today, so no one bothers him.
He first sits down on a bench and takes a blood sample before administering anything, then he administers the Genetic Activation Stabilization Elixir in the artery. After that, he takes a deep breath and administers the Genetic Compound Chain Allele Elixir.
"So far, no abnormalities have occurred after the administration of the elixirs."
After waiting for nearly a minute and sensing no abnormalities in his body, he exclaimed, "How can that be? an abnormality means that there are a certain number of genetic base points being released. I think, in my caution, I administered too little."
Even ten minutes later, Isaac didn't feel anything and started to think that this experiment was a failure; however, he was still captious and waited for his state to stabilize completely before checking up on himself.
After waiting for 30 minutes and still seeing no reaction, he decided to stand up from the bench, but he found himself weaker than he expected. After managing to sit up, he looked at the life monitor screen and found that his body's parameters were normal.
Isaac, who was now sitting, suddenly saw his vision turn black. A strange pain assaulted him. It was an intense pain that felt as though his brain was exploding.
Ah!
Isaac grabbed his head with both hands and screamed in pain. Amidst the pain, Isaac felt both his hands sweating. He fell back on the bench and squirmed for a while. After a minute, the pain subsided, and Isaac managed to get off the bench. He looked in a mirror and found that his eyes, nose, and ears were bleeding, but it wasn't a huge amount.
"All my abnormalities seem to occur in the cranium, maybe the genetic base points that were activated were in my head."
Isaac continued his checkup, and when he found that there were no major problems, he sensed his body condition and didn't find any changes. He neither emits lasers from his eyes nor has he acquired x-ray vision or anything. and after a serious checkup, he found out that all his senses were heightened slightly, but that was it.
"Don't tell me that all the elixir had done was to enhance my senses slightly; there must be another effect I haven't discovered yet."
After doing more checkups all day, he exited his lap and retired for the night, deciding to continue tomorrow with more accurate tests. While going back to his residence, he realized that his senses were heightened more than he had calculated, and he could focus his senses slightly, decreasing the range of what he could hear and feel but increasing accuracy.
After having dinner, he went to bed and tried to meditate like he usually does. He finds it easier to empty his mind this time. He started meditating since he regained his past memories, as it was a habit he had practiced before, and because he knew that there were sorcerers in the MCU. He kept trying blindly in hopes of unlocking astral travel or something.
Of course it was of no use, but he kept the habit because it massively improved his quality of sleep, and he feels that it makes his mind brighter. He inhaled through his nose and exhaled with his mouth. He relaxed his entire body and soon entered an ethereal, completely relaxed meditative state, just like he always had.
Suddenly, Isaac felt a glimmer in his eyes immediately after he entered the meditative state. Something was wrong. Isaac knew that his eyes were still tightly shut. However, the area in front of his eyes had become bright. He gradually saw a human figure.
It was a human figure that was sitting with his legs crossed. The area around the figure was pulsing. It was as if countless rays of light were coursing around the figure, making the entire scene look blurry. There were some points of light that originated from the figure's head.
"What is this? Am I having hallucinations now?" As Isaac exclaimed, his meditative state got disturbed, and the scene in front of him vanished. He opened his eyes, finding himself still on the bed as before.
'This figure might be myself; did the gene activation succeed?'
