Kapitel 53: This is doing a good deed!

Metal iridium?

Of course, Josh knows what iridium is.

Thanks to the movie The Avengers.

In an important scene, Loki goes to Germany and gouges out an old scientist's eyeball, allowing Hawkeye to scan the retina and steal a large piece of metal iridium from the vault.

That piece of metal iridium was then used as a stabilizing device for the Chitauri portal.

After watching the movie, Josh even went to look up information on this stuff.

He learned it was a relatively expensive platinum group metal with extremely stable chemical properties and the most corrosion-resistant metal insoluble in acid. In its dense state, even boiling aqua regia cannot dissolve it, and it is extremely rare in the Earth's reserves.

It is mainly used to manufacture various cutting-edge scientific instruments and is very suitable as an alloy additive.

It is also one of the important raw materials for smartphones and new energy vehicle batteries.

The price is as high as $5,000-6,000 per ounce.

Looks very high-end and valuable, doesn't it?

But there is a harsh reality: this stuff is not really easy to sell.

Because even in the 21st century, when the global demand for this stuff is at its highest, it is only a dozen or so tons, and sometimes only a few tons.

And that's in an era where various electronic products are ubiquitous.

Put it in Josh's world in 1944... Do you know what this stuff was used for? The nibs of fountain pens...

Simply put, the consumption of this thing is very low. If Josh sells too little, it's not interesting. If she sells too much, she won't be able to sell it. It's just pure waste!

However, as soon as Josh said these words, Yuri, on the other side, started cursing.

"Stupid, absolutely stupid! Who the hell told you to sell it? Since you have had contact with people from the timeline I'm in, do you know about the Tank Factory? The Apocalypse Tank? The Magnetron Trooper? The Magnetron Coil? The Magnetic Energy Reactor? Not just the Russians, but all kinds of core components of military weapons from the Allied forces require a large amount of iridium! In our world, iridium has become the most fiercely contested strategic resource between the Allied and Soviet forces. And you're telling me this thing won't sell????"

Judging by Yuri's expression, if Josh had appeared in front of him, he might have strangled him to death on the spot if it weren't for the fact that they were in different universes.

As for Yuri's rebuke, Josh opened his mouth but couldn't say anything...

What could he say? Say that his world doesn't have those technologies? Well, forget about 1944 America, many of the technologies in Command & Conquer, even in his past life in the 21st century, were things that belonged in dreams.

But Yuri's attitude was already clear, Josh didn't have it, but he did.

Although it was in the Cretaceous period, as one of the most powerful technological experts in the Red Alert world, Josh believed that Yuri in front of him and Tony Stark in the future could both build battle armor with their bare hands if they had the right tools... What? The armor of the Magnetron infantry isn't armor? They're not afraid of tanks rolling over them!

"Hehe, don't be angry, Mr. Yuri. It's just that I'm young and inexperienced, and I don't recognize the value of things!" As she thought of all the crazy technology in Red Alert, Josh's mouth watered. He hastened to please Yuri, saying, "Whatever you need, just let me know. I'll do my best to fulfill your requests."

"Hmph, you're a smart kid. Don't worry too much about anything else; just get me some food and drink, especially vegetables and wine. In the Cretaceous period, apart from dinosaurs and ferns, you can hardly see any larger mammals. And prepare a computer for me...well, there were no computers in 1944, so just get me a typewriter and some paper for now. Later, I'll give you a list of all the equipment I need according to their urgency, and you can take your time procuring them. And, if possible, can you send a few people over to me... you know what I mean!" Yuri said, winking.

During the Cretaceous period, Yuri didn't need to worry about survival due to his ability to control his mind. Unlike his clones, as the original, he could even control over a hundred ordinary people at once, let alone dinosaurs with brains the size of a walnut. Well, that's just a joke, of course. Large dinosaurs didn't really have brains the size of a walnut, but they certainly weren't as intelligent as humans. So, for Yuri, controlling them was not difficult.

The reason he was able to survive until now was that he controlled several Tyrannosaurs and even a whole pack of Velociraptors. So, he didn't have to worry about food, drink, or safety.

But being alone for a long time, loneliness can be unbearable.

As a hero, Yuri never stooped as low as to harm innocent creatures as Sandeep did.

But now that he had a dimensional transaction device, it would be a shame not to enjoy it.

Josh understood Yuri's request and knew it was easy to obtain human resources. He didn't purchase people through the trading system because he lacked control methods and was afraid of revealing the secrets of the transaction device. However, selling humans to Yuri was a different matter.

Of course, being a conscientious person, Josh despised human trafficking. But if it was selling Japanese chicks, that was another matter. Japanese were not humans, so there was no problem.

As for where to get the chicks, it was straightforward. After the Pearl Harbor incident, Roosevelt ordered a large number of Japanese to be forcibly relocated to ten "settlement camps" in the inland areas under the guise of wartime needs. There were at least 120,000 Japanese. In addition, hundreds of thousands of Japanese originally lived on the inland and eastern coasts of the United States, many of which were ostracized by society, including Chicago.

It should be easy to get a batch by talking to Dix. Moreover, these Japanese chicks had suffered various forms of discrimination and ostracism in the United States, so sending them to the resource-rich Cretaceous period, with a super boss like Yuri taking care of them, was actually saving them. Compared to that, what was freedom? They worshiped the strong, after all.

The more Josh thought about it, the more he felt nothing was wrong with it.

"Japanese women are fine. But I prefer white ones!" Yuri was not very happy when he heard that only Japanese women could be sent, but as long as they weren't black, it wasn't a problem.

Of course, Yuri didn't mind if Josh sent him some black chicks; he could always send them to the mines.

"White ones are fine too, but you'll have to wait until the war ends next year, and I'll get them for you in Europe," Josh promised as he rubbed his chin. In the early stages of post-World War II, almost all of Europe was suffering from famine. The Allied powers were better off since they had support from the United States, but the defeated countries were in a dire situation. By then, obtaining some population under the guise of recruitment would not attract attention. Besides, it was also a way to save lives. It was better than starving to death, right?

Well, that was also a good deed, nothing wrong with it.

"Oh, by the way, Mr. Yuri, for the initial transaction, besides iridium, could you also prepare some dinosaur eggs for me?" Josh suddenly remembered.
