MJ was intrigued by Dana's proposition. As someone who does her hairstyle regularly, she knows that Dana wasn't the kind to meddle in other people's affairs.
She must be attired by Gwen's affinity, something she wants very much. But even though she is intrigued, she wouldn't promise everything. She is taking this project very seriously, just like Gwen.
She said: "Oh, who is it that you recommended? Let me tell you first that our band will rely on talent rather than looks."
It sounds strange since she and Gwen are much better looking than 99% of celebrities. Dana didn't take what MJ said to heart and only laughed a little.
She said: "Don't worry, the person I'm recommending is very special. Her talent can be seen with the naked eye, but unfortunately, she is too enclosed due to her family situation and doesn't have friends."

As it was already late, they didn't waste time. Gwen gave her address where they would meet tomorrow and told Dana that the person she recommended should join them there tomorrow.

She parted ways with MJ after making sure that the latter returned safely and came a little later.
Anyway, she had informed her parents that she would return late today because she wanted to have a new hairstyle, of course, it was through a phone call.
Sure enough, almost all of them, ranging from her little sister to her father, were waiting for Gwen to come. It was the first time that the latter was getting a special haircut.
As weird as it may sound, the original Gwen was the kind of natural beauty without any makeup, and her hairstyle was done by her mother, who knew the basics.
As for George, he was now sure that Gwen might have some relationship problems. Most of the time, people get a new hairstyle when they want to say goodbye to the past and start over.
He shared his worries with his wife, but the latter thought that maybe he was overthinking. She felt that Gwen would definitely have told her about her love problems, but of course, her confidence came through MJ.
The latter knew all the secrets about Gwen. With how she couldn't keep her mouth shut, she would definitely have informed them long ago.
Although they had their thoughts, none of them expected the big change when Gwen returned. George looked at his daughter's new hairstyle, which screamed punk, and started to really panic.
Sure, he had been complaining some time ago to his group of friends about Gwen being too peaceful even in her adolescence and lacking the liveliness of young people, but in fact, he was just showing off and a little proud.
Thus, a weird scene happened at the Stacy family today. Gwen was sitting on the sofa calmly, at least what she showed.
George was looking at her with his mouth wide open, Helen was absent-minded, thinking about something.
Sophie, Gwen's little sister, was touching Gwen's hair, thinking that she also wanted something like this, while Gwen's little brother simply found his big sister cooler.
"Well," Gwen finally couldn't help it with all the stares and said: "I take it you all like the new look?"
Her younger sister Sophie was the first to respond, her eyes wide with admiration. "I love it! Can I get one too, Gwen? Please?"
George cleared his throat, finally snapping out of his stupor. "Gwendolyn Stacy, what... what on earth possessed you to—" He gestured vaguely at her hair.
Okay, Gwen found their reaction a little funny. She couldn't help but think about school next Monday and how Peter and the others would react.
Still, she replied to her father's question seriously, not showing that she was amused. She said: "My hairstyle? Well, I think I need some kind of change, why not a new cut? I like this one."
"I thought it was time for a change. I'm not a little kid anymore, and I wanted something bold."
Of course, Gwen knew that this much wasn't an excuse George would buy, so it was time to summon the big boss. She looked at her mother and said: "You always say I should embrace who I am, Mom."
Helen blinked out of her absent-minded state and focused on Gwen, her lips twitching into a small smile. "I did say that, didn't I? And... well, it does suit you, in a way."
Helen, who was going with the flow, didn't really have a big problem with Gwen's new look, but after receiving George's stare, she coughed: "Ahem, but it still doesn't explain your sudden change. There must be something going on."
Gwen just shrugged her shoulders and said: "Not really. I dream of being the best drummer in the world, you know? We would do our first band session tomorrow."
"As the future most beloved artist and drummer, of course, I must have something unique. Plus, MJ recommended it, saying I would like it. So, why not?"
'Sorry, MJ, your sacrifice will be remembered by me,' thought Gwen, seeing that George seemed likely to want to talk to her friend.
George really had a headache. The way Gwen was talking seemed so arrogant and confident, unlike usual. Now, he truly understood what a child's rebellious phase meant.
As much as he wished, he shouldn't spoil her on this, or she might become a drunkard and all. He didn't dare to continue imagining this.
He said with a deep tone: "Gwen, I don't know what is happening in your life right now and what you are hiding from us."
"But you should remember that we are your parents, those who have always trusted you and given you everything you wanted. You and your siblings are everything to us."
"I don't want you to waste your life because of someone or something that isn't worth it. Please, Gwen, what's wrong with you?"
Yeah, she herself didn't try hard to hide it and even showed that she wasn't the same by doing things the original Gwen wouldn't do, like morning jogging, new hairstyle, etc...
She wanted them to at least see that she wasn't the original Gwen. She didn't plan to live all her life playing the role of someone else.
Still, although it's a little bit hypocritical to say it, it's not the right time to say this. She looked at her father and mother and sighed: "Really, there is indeed something wrong with me. Although I want to tell you, it's not the right time."
"You don't have to worry about me doing something wrong or wasting my life for something. Really, it's just that things are a little complicated right now, but I promise I will tell you in the future."
She didn't give them the chance to ask anything and returned to her room. Once she had the power to protect their minds from being invaded, she would really tell them. But now, it's not good for her or for them.
In this world full of people able to do mind reading, especially with George's profession where he is bound to come in contact with mutants, she couldn't gamble her secret.
At least, she thinks they deserve to know about the death of their daughter. If they accept her as the one she is, that's good. If they resent her, that's fair enough because she would do the same if she were in the same situation.
In the future, when she is powerful enough and the existence of extraordinary people becomes as common as dogs, that would be the best moment in her mind.

What do you think about the idea of Gwen sharing the fact that she isn't the original Gwen and that the latter is dead with her parents? I mean, she is just a normal person on Earth with a little bit more hormones. She would, of course, feel a little guilty taking someone's place that wasn't originally hers.
The family deserves the right to know that their daughter is dead, and Gwen also deserves the right to be mourned by her family.
