Chapter 094

"What are you doing, Mr Stark?"

Fury stormed into the room as Alex thought that the real plot of the movie would start soon. Fury looked angry as he asked that.

"Kind of been wondering the same thing about you." Tony said, looking at him, then glanced at Alex who shrugged in response.

"You're supposed to be locating the Tesseract."

*We are." Bruce replied. "The model's locked and we're sweeping for the signature now. When we get a hit, we'll have the location within half a mile."

"Yeah, then you get your Cube back. No muss, no fuss."

Tony said and then taking the chance, he brought up a hologram on the screen and asked.

"What is 'Phase 2'?"

At that moment, Steve walked right into the room, looking visibly disappointed and angry. He put down a device which resembled some kind of a prototype.

"Phase 2 is Shield using the Cube to make weapons." He said, taking a look around the room. "Sorry, the computer was moving a little slow for me."

"Rogers, we gathered everything related to the Tesseract. This does not mean that we're making…"

Fury tried to explain but at that moment, Tony quickly pulled out a screen which displayed the blueprint of a weapon Shield was trying to develop using the Tesseract.

"I'm sorry, Nick. What were you saying?" Tony snickered.

"I was wrong, Director. The world hasn't changed a bit."

"Did you know about this?"

Steve and Bruce spoke. Alex who was just standing in the background wasn't speaking anything but he was on guard because he knew what would come after this scene.

The door to the room opened at that moment and Natasha and Thor walked in. Immediately, the redhead spy looked towards Bruce.

'You thinking about removing yourself from this environment, Doctor?"

"I was in Calcutta. I was pretty well removed."

"Loki is manipulating you." She said, frowning.

"And you've been doing what, exactly?"

"You didn't come here because I batted my eyelashes at you."

"Yes, and I'm not leaving because suddenly you get a little twitchy. I'd like to know why S.H.I.E.L.D. Is using the Tesseract to build weapons of mass destruction."

Bruce asked, pointing towards the screen. It was the question that was on everyone's mind and this time, Fury replied, his eyes pointing at Thor.

"Because of him."

"Me?"

"Last year, Earth had a visitor from another planet who had a grudge match that levelled a small town." Fury began, looking at everyone. "We learned that not only are we not alone but we are hopelessly, hilariously, outgunned." Then his eyes suddenly moved towards Alex. "Not only that, we now have people who have powers that we don't know the end of. Krown, will you tell everyone about how you got your powers or how many more are roaming around with a giant wolf in their shadows."

"I'm not a threat, Fury." Alex replied back, trying to not let emotions show on his face.

"My people want nothing but peace with your planet." Thor said, shaking his head.

"But you're not the only people out there, are you? And you're not the only threat." Fury said. "The world's filling up with people who can't be matched, that can't be controlled."

The last part of the sentence was clearly aimed at Alex but he just gave back an icy glare.

"Like you controlled the Cube? Your work with the Tesseract is what drew Loki to it, and his allies. It is a signal to all the realms that the Earth is ready for a higher form of war."

Thor said, stepping towards Fury who wasn't going to back down.

"A higher form? You forced our hand. We had to come up with something."

Tony chipped in at that moment.

"A nuclear deterrent. Because that always calms everything right down."

"Remind me again how you made your fortune, Stark." Fury fired back, hitting a nerve.

"I'm sure if he still made weapons, Stark would be neck-deep…" Steve began but Tony quickly interjected.

"Hold on. How is this now about me?"

"I'm sorry, isn't everything?"

"I thought humans were more evolved than this."

Thor grumbled and the fight just intensified. Alex sighted, thinking that in the beginning, the Avengers really were a mismatched group.

As the Avengers were arguing, a quinjet was covetly moving towards the Helicarrier.

[Transport Six-Six-Bravo, please relay confirm codes. I've got you on the computer, but not on the day log. What is your haul?]

A voice came from the speaker, asking for the identity of the quinjet but the pilot simply replied.

"Over. Arms and ammunition. Over."

If one looked closely, the pilot's eyes looked hollow and he seemed to be piloting the jet like a robot, only following instructions blindly.

There were a lot of agents filled throughout the quinjet and all of them have the same eyes as the pilot. They seem to be preparing for an attack and leading them was Clint Barton.

Yes, they were the agents controlled by Loki!

'This one would be good.'

Clint thought as he prepared his bow and took a glance at the arrow. It was one of his special ones.

Aside from the common ones, Clint had a variety of special arrows that he would only use on special occasions. This one was an explosion arrow.

Moving towards the hatch, he looked down at the Helicarrier in the distance. The pilot was following his order, so they were quite close to the engines.

Clint kept his eyes glued to the engines and pulled back his bow, taking aim.

Finding the perfect moment, he fired the shot and the arrow moved through the air and stuck to one of the engines.

Beep! Beep! Beep!

A beeping sound appeared from it and suddenly, the arrow exploded.

In an instant, parts of the Helicarrier engine fell down as the huge ship struggled to keep its balance.

Clint smirked seeing that.

His plan was just beginning!
