Upon hearing the sound of Helsen's body crashing to the ground, and his Sword-ax bouncing several times in the ice, I turned and found that my attack had opened a wide and deep wound along Helsen's chest and abdomen.
Despite this, he was not dead yet, he did not move, but he looked at me disbelief in his eyes, while he spit out doses of blue blood, and his internal organs were visible from his stomach.
It is clear that his ability to survive under these circumstances is interesting, however, he will not be able to heal from this wound, and he will die slowly.
"If there was any consolation, if you hadn't stood in my way I wouldn't have killed you," I said as I walked by his side, realizing the fact that even after his death he would go to Niflheim anyway.
Helsen desperately tried to reach to his sword-axe, but I went ahead and carried it, I looked at him for a moment before I used him to decapitate Helsen.
I ignore Helsen's corpse because I have no use for it, I am not a necromancer so I do not like corpses and death, even though I do possess the knowledge to make or summon the undead.
At this moment, I looked at the gate and went to it and opened it with raw physical strength, this wasn't really difficult because it was not heavier than I could carry.
When I did this, I saw that Fafnir, who was carrying Helder's coffin over his shoulder, came out of the fog and approached me with a strange smile on his face, but he was clearly happy.
After a little more than a minute, he reached towards me and placed the coffin on the ground while saying, "Haha! I knew relying on you was not a mistake, now we can move on!"
"Yes, it was good that I ended this fight quickly," I said without giving him any attention.
As an evil dragon, he will be able to compare himself with Helsen, but as a dwarf he is much weaker, and let's not say that he is hardly a suitable fighter, in a fight between him and Helsen he will lose terribly so it is not surprising that he resorted to me immediately.
Unlike me who was here only a few days ago, Fafnir lived without going crazy for more than fifty years. Resorting to the person who killed him is really nothing if that means leaving Niflheim.
"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's cross this bridge!"
"Yes, on that, I gotta do a few things first. So why don't you go ahead before me?" I told him while I extended to him the sword that I had previously enchanted.
Fafnir looked at me awkwardly for a moment, "So, this is the end of the journey?"
"I believe so," I replied without showing any expression on my face.
Although I killed Fafnir before, but now he was a companion in my career and some friendship was built between us, another person may feel guilty, but I am not that person, what happened has happened and now it would be better for us to separate.
After all, we don't even belong to the same realm.
"Huh, it was fun and comfortable to travel with you," said Fafnir as he took the sword out of my hand and turned to leave, but paused for a moment before completing his course, "I hope you can get out of here."
I looked at him carefully as he passed the Bridge of the Damned, and he continued walking until he disappeared in the dense fog that covered the other side.
When I saw that Fafnir passed across the bridge, I sat on the ground with a sword-exe in my hand, looking for a nearby rock and starting to sharpen and break the edges of this weapon.
This sword-axe was made of stone, but it was heavier and better than my previous weapon, and while I'm not trained to use heavy weapons, I'm not inexperienced.
I also put runes of durability, sharpness, strength and efficiency on him, since I am the god of wisdom that I was, I know that I would need a suitable weapon in Helheim, especially if I had to face the goddess of death.
After finishing, I didn't cross the bridge right away, but I carved a magic circle in the ice and used conjuring in order to summon a skeleton from the underworld, before casting a disappearance spell and several reinforcement spells.
Only after that, I held a sword-axe in my right hand and let the skeleton follow behind me, and I passed the bridge of the Damned with steady, swift steps, while the skeleton was dragging hilder's coffin with difficulty.
i know that chapter is a little bit smaller but next chap is hela first appearance!
