Kapitel 38: Explanation?

0038

Arthur once again thought of the list that Carter had given him. From the names that Lindsey had given them, "Fred" was-definitely-not on the list.

Even if the current "SHIELD" had not given him the complete list, they would not be stupid enough to allow a potential spy in an important experiment like this, right?

-Unless, Hydra had already infiltrated SHIELD. But that cannot be possible, right? -

-Nah. Maybe Lindsey never was that important in Hydra. After all, no one puts all their eggs in the same basket. -

-Let's just keep an eye on him. Having the opponent where you want them to be is much better than a gun hidden in the dark. -

He worked out his memories, while not everyone looked identical to their movie counterparts, they did have certain descriptions that matched. And from all that he knew was going to happen today, he could easily deal with them.

Picking up a cigarette from the sweet lady, he went to the suspected car, "Hey, you got a light?"

The two men immediately silenced themselves, appearing vigilant. A point in Arthur's favour.

One turned towards Arthur, appearing to search his pockets. While the other turned around, putting his hands in his suit.

Because he had turned around, it became harder for Art to know what he was reaching for. Not like he needed to know anyway. A surprise right punch was all he needed to gift them. Then again, a question you readers might ask—How strong was Arthur physically?—From the enhancements of War souls and the strange energy sparks, his body had exceeded the normal human standards. He was not yet a one-punch man nor was he a hulk-buster, but he was certainly closer to being a super-soldier than a normal human.

The suited man cranked his head to his right, trying to avoid the punch. But the thing is, you do not dodge in the direction of the punch—a simple logic. The punch hit the man regardless, breaking the left cheekbone. Maybe a concussion as the man fell, hitting his head on the sidewalk.

Then Arthur ducks while closing in on the second man who had his gun out by now, ready to shoot. But Art was not in his vision anymore. A sudden cut to the chin—stunning the man—throwing him into the air. However, the man still held onto his gun and Arthur was not the one to hold back his punches either. He intercepted the man in the air, kicking his guts, forcing out any air in his lungs, leaving the man struggling to breathe while he went and dealt with the first man who had somehow stood back up.

When the man looked up to see how the situation had developed, Arthur was already standing in front of him. Art hooked a leg behind the man's left and gave a simple push. What's words than a potential first concussion? The second one. This time the man finally fainted.

All this done perfectly in time for an agent to be alerted and stand just close enough to react to any hostility.

"Take him away." (Art)

But the agents did not move, watching him and waiting for backup or for someone to clear Arthur first.

Eventually the old lady had to come out to say, "Listen to the kid. You should have seen his face and memorised his identity when you were given the list of people who would be attending the gallery. Security these days, always dumb."

She then looked at the dropped cigar, "Such a waste…"

Arthur smiled: "I'll get you something better."

"You better do or your father is going to be wasted by my children. Anyway, let's head in. The Exhibit should be prepared already."

...

...

Arthur just got through the door when the attendant had given Steve his penicillin shot. Laying him down for the more painful process.

Then the serum would be saturated into his body and lastly his growth would be promoted and stabilized using Vita-rays, starks masterpiece. Although this one experiment fries the entire system from an overload.

Arthur's late arrival raised some eyebrows but no questions were asked. Something more important was underway.

All the while, Carter looked thoughtfully at him and kept silent.

The experiment continued; Steve was being contained to concentrate the rays. Slowly the light increased, along with grunts. And when the light seemed like it could not be any brighter, the system gave up. Circuits burnt through excessive electricity, evidently technology could not keep up with Stark's genius.

Everyone turned anxious and the behaviour of the doctors did not give them any good indicators either. Arthur was watching on quietly since he already knew what was going to happen. All that he needed to do was witness it.

With the opening of the Pandora's box, all the sounds were muffled. What went in was a stick-man and what came out was a walking chunk of muscles.

At the same time, a well dressed man shifted in his seat—the same man who blows up the place—but Arthur had his eyes on him from the start.

He reached towards his shoulder, shaking him, "Are you interested in seeing stars✨?"

"What?"

And a punch straight to the nose, breaking it. Two more punches at the same place to guarantee his promise and end it fast.

"You have an explanation for this?" Guess who asked him.

With a sigh, he opened "Fred"'s mouth and pulled out the one tooth he needed and gave it to his father or rather to Colonel Philips

"Here is your explanation."
