Kapitel 24: 24. Charity.

Sometimes we feel trapped and no matter how much we wish to escape it's simply not possible. It's fate, and the only thing, the best solution to it is simply accept the fact.

Feeling as if a heavy object was placed on her chest, Que backed away, her heart sinking. Is it possible for her to ever get rid of this .... dark energy? Just yesterday she was happily playing with the blue flower and nothing happened to it. She was already anticipating bringing in more pets soon when this is finally over which she hoped would be soon.

But everything just shattered within the next 24 hours.

She'd already accepted her fate, long ago. Accepted her life that way, but with the improvement yesterday had gave her hope. It was a nice feeling one she wish she could attain. Now that hope was shattered and she's back to cruel reality with the life of a goldfish bitting her in the ass.

She walked towards the window thinking about just what happened. She was gloomy and she could've sworn something moved inside her when she placed her hands on the fish tank. Looking for an outlet. Is that the dark energy? The destroyer of anything good?

"Excuse me Ma'am, are you Mrs Menalik?" A lady in a white shirt and black skirt, the outfit of the workers here called her attention. A waitress.

"Yes, that's me."

"Sorry for keeping you waiting. Your room is over here please, follow me." She followed the lady to a private room on the second floor. The carpeted room was filled with refreshing levender scent, helped her relax a little. But with relaxation came guilt. She picked up the menu and ordered anything that caught her eye, it looked expensive but right now she only wanted to eat her sorrow away. The sky rumbled pouring down a heavy torrent matching her mood as she waited for to be served.

Zeus glanced at the sky through the windows when it began to rain a thought fleeting though his head. He crushed it as it came.

She would be alright. She'd know better than to defy him, for her own sake, he hoped.

"The gates connecting the realms are opened? Since when? And why haven't anyone informed me?" He bit out calmly although he is anything but calm, flicking the cigar in his hand, his face turning dark. Zed and the rest of the men stood behind him as an old man with white hair sat across from him.

"Your Lordship, I tried to get to you but couldn't. You can not be found unless you allowed it. I was wondering perhaps the release from the Amaranth opened the gates triggering the mass cross over. Our device have picked up multiple locations swarmed with concentrated dark energy."

"Have there been any reports from the News channels?"

"No, although it's been 72 hours, the humans are still unaware of this. There could be only two explanation to that. Either all the demons that crossed over gave passed the second stage, or they are taking in the human bodies as host."

Zeus kept quiet for a while, digesting the very bad information.

"Thank you for your help, grand Steve. Let me know if you find something else."

"Definitely, Benel Hakam. May your days be well." He bowed in respect and left.

"I'll contact Maxum right away to see what's he's got." Zed said when Zeus said nothing to them.

"Hm. See what you can found. Trace the gates and seal them. I've underestimated Hanoon, it wouldn't happen again."

Que munched on a crunchy green apple patting her stomach with one hand, its juicy and sour taste assaulting her buds and she wrinkled her nose dropping it back on the table.

Four plates, she'd finished four plates of different meals and thanked the heavens her dress was loose and wouldn't show the bump of her stomach.

She'd ordered four different dishes for the three of them, she had no idea who would be needing two but ordered anyway. It was a great choice cuz it was, they were all delicious and she didn't regret ordering them one bit. She had no intention of eating them all, truth to God she hadn't, one plate is enough for her but as she waited for them and they failed to appear, coupled with the enticing aroma wafting seducively to her nose from the glistening dishes crowded on the table tempted her. Couldn't bear it anymore, she decided to try a spoon out of each plate and taste them. They wouldn't notice anyway.

That was until she ended up eating a quarter of each dish. There was no way they'll not notice this, she panicked when she realized what she had done. Her stomach was filled to the brim with no space left for more food. So finishing them is out of the option. The food had gone cold and they haven't returned, even if they had they'll definitely not be eating this. Which means it's going to waste.

At that thought she recalled her days (which is only a single day) in the tunnel and how hungry she'd been. It wasn't a pleasant experience and she wouldn't want her or anyone to ever be in that situation. Throwing away food when others are suffering due to hunger is a huge crime, one she wishbto take no part in.

An idea popped up in her head and she called the waitress requesting for a takeaway bags to pack up the remaining food. The waitress, a lady with a bitchy (sorry but most of the bitchy girls she've met wore a bright red lipstick) face eyed her as if saying which hole did you crawled out from? She wanted to decline but Que gave her a stinky eye, plastering a mean look on her face, she had no choice but to provide her with what she asked for.

Que packed up the dishes and skipped happily out of the restaurant ignoring the looks she was receiving from the workers. Out in the rain which had lessen she headed towards the alley at the back of the restaurant holding takeaway bags in both hands.
