Kapitel 62: The end of an era (2)

As soon as the question leaves Will's lips, I feel a stare from my left. Asher is looking at me like he wants to say something but can't voice it with everyone sitting at the table. I know what this is about. He wants to remind me of his warning against involving myself with the Romano empire. 

Does he think I'm an idiot? 

This man knew I was his daughter for years, and for a while, I thought he popped out of nowhere, claiming to be my father and expecting me to treat him as such. 

The truth is much worse. He tried to kill the parents I had known all my life. Actually, he succeeded in killing my father. My mother might be his next target. Who knows? Maybe he only stopped himself from targeting her because he was lucky that it was passed off as an accident the first time, and it would be obvious if he tried again. 

Why the fuck would I want to stay with such a two-faced fox? Do I need to be warned?
