Kapitel 56: Crimsons (2)

CAT 

The first person I see when I arrive at Crimson's is Deliah. She called me earlier to ask where I was and has been waiting for my arrival. This is within my expectations. How could she miss the chance to look down at me from under her nose and remind me of the gap between us? 

When she sees me, her attitude is nothing like I expected. Instead of the cold, greater-than-thou attitude, she smiles at me sweetly. "Cat, you are finally here." 

I smile back. "Hi Deliah, sorry I'm a little late." 

"You aren't, I'm early." She says. "If you don't mind me asking, why did you decide to start at the bottom of the food chain? Simeon would put you at the center of the family business if you asked him to." 

I give the answer Will and I decided on. "If I want to gain respect, I can't have things handed to me for free." 

She flashes a gentle smile. "If only I thought that way before."
