Kapitel 83: Cannon fodder

A million thoughts and possibilities swirl through my brain but I swallow them all down, maintaining a nonchalant expression as I quickly throw my clothes on and dig into my purse for a lip liner. 

I glide it on my lips in front of the mirror and pause to ask, "Did you need me to leave so you can change into your work clothes?" 

She pockets her badge with a smirk. "Ah, the calm and collected type. No wonder you still have your head intact. Impulsive people can't survive in the den of wolves that's the De Santi mansion." 

Just how much has she investigated me? 

"Allow me to introduce myself," she says after a moment. "I am Alexander Miller. You can call me Lexi."
