BEEP! BEEP!

I woke up to the insistent beeping of my alarm clock, groaning in annoyance as I fumbled to silence it. Rubbing the sleep from my eyes, I sat up and switched on the lamp beside my bed, bathing the room in a soft glow. Another early morning, the unyielding hands of the clock mocking me with their unwavering routine.

As I swung my legs over the edge of the bed and stood, a wave of soreness washed over me, each step to the bathroom a reminder of what happened with Carlos and me the night before. I couldn't shake the feeling of unease that lingered in the pit of my stomach, unsure if things between us would ever be the same again.
