"Mom," she cried, blinded by her own pain. "I'm sorry, mom. I'm sorry, mom. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry for not listening to you. I'm sorry for getting angry at them and running to you. I'm sorry for not running away before. I should… I should have runaway before. I shouldn't have been born… I shouldn't have been born… I was a mistake… I'm a monster. If I wasn't what I am… you would still be alive. It's all my fault… it's my fault… it's… it's… it's my fault. Your are dead and it's my fault…"

["Em, sssssssweetheart,"] Jade cried for her, serpentining up to her hug her torso, ["your father isssssss here, sssssssweetheart. You can't break now. Sssssstay with usssssss."]

["We are here for you,"] Peridot joined his mate. ["You're fine."]

But she couldn't even listen. "Mom… mom… mom… mom, I'm sorry… I'm sorry… I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry… I'm sorry," her entire body shook as she broke on her knees, despairing.

Bhat kneeled to the breaking girl and hugged her.

"Mom…" she cried.

The giant witchling noticing she wasn't going to get back to herself anytime soon, and feeling guilty for having touched such a sensible point, held her up in his arms like a bride.

"Please, don't bite me," he begged her serpents, swallowing his fear of the vicious kin. "I'll take her to her room. She can't be here, they will see her. She can't be seen. They will know… she's not normal," he swallowed, trying not to think on the fact that the girl's blood tears weren't green but silver and smoky, and just ran to where the vacant single dorm of the Snake House was, thanking the fact they were already so close.

As soon as he got to it, he used a quick mental spell to open it up, ran inside as fast as possible, and closed it behind him, setting a spell to block and lock the doors from anyone who could try to enter, doing the same to all the windows, also using a spell to close them so no one would be able to come inside. Then he quickly set the breaking girl in her new bed, big enough to fit to one him comfortably, and put her backpack down.

Running to the side kitchen made for green witchlings, Bhat got a bottle of cold water, and ran to her again, kneeling in front of her. "Here, my dear, you have to drink. Drink up." But when she kept crying as if she couldn't even see him there, or see herself in the room, shaking like a lamb, he took a deep breath, opened the bottle that looks small in his hand, held her gently by her back, and brought the opening to her lips.

It took her a second, but her body accepted the water even if she's still dazed. Another minute and her tears began to resume it's run, and she started to breath heavier through the tears. Then, she finally blinked, and even though he couldn't see it, he felt her coming back and when she was able to hold the bottle with her hands, he took a step back and sat down in front of her bed, anxious and worried.

I… when did I… is this my new room? She gulped more water down and did her best to subside the shaking of her hands. That is, until her eyes saw her hand and black top tainted silver. No. No. Is it my blood? Oh, no.

["Sssssssweetheart, breath. Don't worry about him. He ain't gonna ussssssse or tell othersssssss. Ssssssso, breath!"] Jade reassured.

["Keep calm, before sssssssomeone comessss in,"] Peridot said.

Why… why would anyone come? They… they are celebrating!

["Becaussssssse,"] Jade sighed, ["you may not have exploded asssssss ussssssual, Em, but your magic certainly made thisssssss place ssssssshake like a bitch. Plusssssss your sssssscream worthy of a horror movie, dear. And well, it doesssssssn't take a geniussssss to put one and two together and realize that typa ssssssshit came from you!"]

I'm sorry, she gulped. I… the memories… they…

["We know, Em,"] Peridot told her softly. ["We were worried like hell for you jusssssst now. We hate ssssssseeing you like thissssss. We hate when you break for your passsssst, and thingssssss you had no control over. No one did. Anyone else would have done worsssssse, would have already ssssssuccumbed to this crazy magic within you."]

But I shouldn't have lost it in here… fuck. My dad is still here. She began to undo her root twin braids exasperatedly, feeling real tears rolling down this time, with the weight that's still on her shoulder. I hoped I would have more time… that it would take longer to see him. Why? Why did he had to pop up less than an hour of me in here? Why can't I have a lil bit of peace? All I wanted to do was run as fast as I can out of here.

["You time running isssss over, Em,"] Jade muttered.

"I know," she whispered, done with the braids.

After a second, Bhat asked softly, "You know what?"

"Jade said my time running is over," she sighed, passing her hands over her hair. "I'm sorry, Bhat. I… I'm sorry you saw me like this, that you saw how much of a mess I actually am. Or…," turning to him, she took off the eyeglasses, "that you saw what I am."

A cold shiver went down his spine, he blinked once, twice, thrice, and finally a gasp left his lips, "Ah. So, that was why the crystals couldn't hold your magic. They were made to read the magic of the seven kins, and… somehow you're not from any of them," he pointed to her blood. "Silver and smoky blood," passing a hand over his hair, he chuckled, "I never saw this shit before, but I feel like I know what it means."

Emerald blinked, in shock, "That's not… what I was expecting. Why aren't you… I don't know? Freaking the fuck out?"

"Because you're not a freak, Em," he said softly. "Sure, you ain't normal, that much was obvious, but now it make sense. You see, when you spend so much time in a place such as the Maolmhuire Prison, not much scares you. I'm not scared, in the slightest, not of you, but for you. In fact, the injury that made me have to retire from being a warden was done by a Soul wizard. A rogue that never came to Alexandrini, though that's a top secret."

"Soul wizard?" She gasped in a whisper. "Why tell me?"

"Because now you know my secret and I know yours," he winked. "It's a fair trade. Besides, what makes it absurd ain't even the fact that it was a Soul wizard, but the fact that he was 13 years old. It was 15 years ago and he is still alive and 28 years old now, the biggest secret of the Global Ministry of Magic," then he raised the left side of his oversized pants and showed her the steel leg going from a bit above his knee to his feet. "That day I learned how much I'm in disadvantage with my big height."

Her eyes widened, "13 years old? He's a kid. Why was he there?"

"He isn't just a soul wizard, Em," he sighed, "he's of mixed golden-soul witchling nature, and," he pointed to her eyes, "he's a… what you are."

A changeling. She gulped, "Did he succumb to it?"

A nod, "He did, and when he did, he went on a serial-killer spree, killing an entire small city in the outskirts of Wales with his bare hands and a butcher knife. And he also," he pointed to her sharp canines showing at her mouth was agape, "sucked them dry. His eyes are jeweled, diamonds. He didn't get taken, he seems to have allowed the Ministry police to take him to the prison, because he seemed to want something in there. When he got there, he killed 12 prisoners, and 6 wardens, plus wounded me, before abruptly pausing after taking my leg, he fainted in exhaustion, which is how and why I'm alive. And that's not even the worse part."

Selene and Nyx above. And I thought I had it rough. "What is it?"

Bhat's eyes darkened and a haunted expression descended over his face, making her tense, "This kid, is Martinus Klaassen Diamandi's son."

No way. "The head of the Global Ministry of Magic?" She gasped.

He nodded, haunted, "Aaron Lichtenfels Diamandi. That's the kid's name. He's the son of Martinus with Noemi Lichtenfels, a red. He was to be a golden-red, like Simon, but something went really wrong and he came as half soul wizard. He's white with golden hair, and diamond eyes, and for what I heard from my friend who's still a warden in there, he grew to be 2.12 meters tall, and he's been training his body so much that he's sculpted, but some times he still snaps and kill a handful of people, as if the feed what lies inside him. Only the top heads of the Global and the UK Ministry, plus the top wardens of Maolmhuire Prison know this. Not even Rhys knows."

"Does… the Chancellor knows? Chancellor Gerhard?"

A nod, "As one of the three heads of the UK Ministry, yes. He met the kid before, and he's the one who realized that he was only in the prison because he wanted to be there. That he could easily break through the maximum security, but for whatever reason, he has not done that yet. But he also said he's not a monster, he's still the Aaron before he lost his control and succumbed to his… nature, and that he's more than conscious and in control of everything he does."

So, now my dad knows I'm not the only error in the system. "I see."

He narrowed his eyes, "Why? Do you have something against the Chancellor, Em? Or did Dior mess with your mind about him?"

Should I trust him with this? I mean, he trusted me.

["Yesssssss,"] they hissed together.

"He is the one with something against me, Bhat," she sighed.

He frowned, "But he hadn't met you before today."

Emerald took a deep breath, "He has."

"What?" His frown deepened.

"He's the one I've been running from, Bhat. The one hunting me."

It took him a second, more than one, but when he put the jigsaw all together, his eyes widened and he gasped, "He's your father?" He breathed.

"The one and only," she chuckled, self-deprecatingly.

"Fuck," he covered his mouth. "That's why she needs you. You are only the one who could possibly kill him."

A nod, "But I won't, just for the record. My dad wants me dead, he tried once, and he'll keep trying. I don't want him dead, though. But I may have made Dior and Saoirse believe our desires are aligned, so I could use her. I'm not on the Phoenixes side, since they want me dead, but I'm not on the Dragons side either, since they want my dad dead. I'm also not with the whites in the middle. I'm… on my own."
