As Noah stood frozen in disbelief, his eyes locked with May's as she stood smiling in the bedroom doorway.
Confusion washed over him, a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions racing through his mind.
Why is May here, all of a sudden?. How did she even know where Ceaser lived. Was this just a pure coincidence ?
Searching for answers, he glanced to the side only to find Ceaser ,the one person who he thought might have an idea what is going on ,giving him an encouraging thumbs up.
He mouthed the words to a confused Noah,"Act normal, ok?".
May, unaffected by the tension in the room, casually sauntered in and took a seat on the bed, her smile still intact.
Noah, struggling to piece together the puzzle before him, felt his heart pounding in his chest. With a trembling voice, he finally mustered the courage to ask the burning question that haunted his thoughts. "Why are you here, May?"
Her reply struck him like a bolt of lightning. "I know everything," she calmly stated, her eyes filled with a mix of sympathy and understanding.
Noah's eyes widened in disbelief, a sense of panic creeping into his thoughts.
He instinctively glanced towards his best friend, realizing in that moment that May's presence was not a coincidence. His friend nodded in confirmation, acknowledging his silent suspicion.
Was she infact talking about his wereshifter secret?, did she know about his kidnapped family?, what did she mean by ,I know everything?
Before Noah could respond, his best friend interjected, sensing the turmoil brewing within him.
"Don't worry dude, just sit down. We all have to talk ".
Ceaser reassured his friend that he was the one who had divulged the information to May, urging him not to worry.
Closing the bedroom door to create a semblance of privacy, the three of them were left in a charged atmosphere, anticipation hanging thickly in the air.
The silence that followed was punctuated only by the faint sound of their breathing. Noah mind desperately raced to find the right words, his thoughts intertwining with fear, confusion, and a growing sense of vulnerability.
Gradually, his best friend broke the silence, gently urging Noah to just open up, to let the truth unfold in this room of shared secrets and unspoken desires.
"What are you talking about? What secret?", Noah said, smiling akwardly, while glancing back and forth at Ceaser and then May.
"You don't need to act like this Noah, Ceaser told me everything on the phone", May interrupted, her voice calm as ever.
Know what? What was she talking about?.
Suddenly, May stood up, and walks towards Noah with a sympathetic and determined look.
She pauses for a moment, staring into his eyes ,before she spoke softly ,"Noah, I know your secret. I know you're a Lycan..".
Noah felt like his world was going to crumble as he heard those words. At that moment, he wanted nothing more than the ground to open up and swallow him whole.
Feigning ignorance, Noah went on "What? I have no idea what you're talking about, May, Ceaser was just messing with you, haha, I can't believe you fell for it"
"Cut the act, dude. I already told her everything. There's no need to pretend", Ceaser interrupted.
Noah's facade crumbles, and he stares at his best friend in disbelief. How could he ?
Taking heavy breath, Noah knew the jig was up, she knew everything. There was no point trying to deny it.
"Noah, I understand that this was your secret and even letting your own best friend know about it must have been really hard on you considering you wanted to keep this all to yourself, but....", she paused, gently holding one of his hand with both of her, while staring into his eyes, "You don't have to hide it anymore. I understand the weight you've been carrying alone. It takes immense strength to shoulder something like this".
Noah was shaken but he still attempted to deny it, hoping she would somehow believe his words over Ceaser and let this conversation end.
"Look, I don't know what Ceaser told you, but I have no idea what you're talking about. I'm just an ordinary guy".
Now smiling gently, she continued,
"No, Noah. You're far from ordinary. Remember that day at school? You saved everyone, even though most people don't know it. But I saw the way you took perfect charge of that situation. That horrible creature that attacked our school, Ceaser told me that you're the one who killed it and I believed him".
Noah's eyes widened, contemplating the truth of May's words.
Her voice suddenly filled with emotion, " I want to thank you for that, Noah. You risked your own life, and it didn't go unnoticed. You've made a difference, even if no one else knows it. Some people would have died if you hadn't stepped in, and I'm glad you didn't let that happen ".
Noah struggled to keep his composure as May's words were really getting to him, slowly but surely.
Placing a hand on Noah's shoulder, "I can't imagine how difficult it must have been. I know you must have been terrified at some point and I truly understand ".
Ceaser cut in once more , smiling, "To make sure we really do this , I wanted to get all the help we can, and May was the only capable person to me so I reached out to her and explained everything. It was a huge risk, considering what will happen if she had told authorities or someone else, but I know how much she means to you ,so this was a risk I was willing to take.. for you".
Ceaser steps forward, his voice filled with compassion, "She was willing to share this burden with you, Noah".
"And I'm so sorry about your mom and sister...he told me about that too and I was heartbroken, even though I don't know them but I know I would feel a lot of pain if that happened to my family".May added, cleaning the tears that was starting to well up in Noah's eyes
"I honestly..... don't know what to say", Noah said, his voice starting to crack a bit.
"You don't have to say anything, I came here to help you because you're my friend and I can't just sit back and let you suffer this alone", she said, with a genuine smile.
Noah remains silent, absorbing May's words. A sense of relief and gratitude washes over him.
"You're not alone in this, Noah. We're here for you, no matter what happens"
"Yeah, and don't go acting like some dark hero on your own. We got you and we always will ", Ceaser said, punching Noah playfully in the arm.
In the dimly lit room, suffused with an aura of mystery and secrecy, a lady of unparalleled elegance smoothly glides through the doorway.
Her entrance draws attention, for she is dressed in a tight-fitting black body suit that accentuates every curve of her lithe figure.
As she confidently approaches the center of the room, her eyes meet the piercing gaze of a tall man donning an impeccable black suit. His stature exudes authority, and there is an air of dangerous charisma surrounding him.
Kneeling gracefully before this formidable man, the lady's voice, laced with a hint of urgency and concern, breaks the heavy silence.
"It is done Master Saturn, the boy was caught in the trap you set up for him".
She explains that she had personally witnessed the cataclysmic explosion that had been meant to claim the life of their target - a boy whose existence threatened their clandestine operations.
She assures him that based on the sheer magnitude of the blast, there is no plausible way the young boy could have possibly survived.
To her astonishment, the man's laughter fills the room, an eerie echo hanging in the air like a twisted melody. Dismissing her naivety with a sardonic smile, he utters with contemptuous conviction that nothing as trivial as an explosion could ever deter him.
His words, dripping with an almost supernatural confidence, leaving the lady momentarily stunned, a flicker of anxiety darkening her eyes.
"He may just be a beta but something like that isn't going to be enough to put him away".
With a blend of curiosity and apprehension, the lady, determined to understand the extent of the man's knowledge, boldly inquires as to how he could possibly possess such certainty.
His response is cryptic, yet laden with a sense of undeniable power.
He advises her, in a voice that resonates with equal parts mystique and authority, "Gather the remaining hunters in this mansion and position them subtly ,for this night, a unavoidable battle will be sure to occur".
"What do you mean Master Saturn? What battle?"
"Just do as you're told ".
As the lady, now aware of the imminent danger, strides away from the enigmatic figure, the man remains in the shadows.
With an air of enigma surrounding him, he reaches into his pocket, retrieving a cigarette and a silver lighter. Flames flicker to life, casting fleeting light upon his face, revealing an intricate web of scars etched deeply into his skin.
A cloud of smoke spirals upward, veiling any trace of emotion that may lurk within his piercing gaze.
In the atmosphere charged with anticipation, fraught with intrigue, the enigmatic man basks in the darkness, his cigarette an emblem of both his audacity and inscrutability.
"Don't you worry lady Linnea, your prey will come right to us". He says in a calm voice, he exhales a plume of smoke that dissipates into the unknown, his every gesture exuding a captivating blend of enigma and danger, invoking a sense of foreboding for the mysteries yet to unfold on this fateful night.
