As Noah groggily woke up, he stretched his limbs and realized to his amazement that all his injuries from the previous day had miraculously healed overnight. Even his broken arm didn't hurt anymore, it had healed up completely.
Descending the stairs towards the delicious aroma of breakfast, he found his mother waiting for him with a concerned look on her face.
"Goodmorning mom. What's with the worried look on your face".
Before he could even ask her if they was any problem , she immediately brought up unexpected news.
"Why didn't you tell me about the attack on your school yesterday, your school called, informing me that there would be a mandatory two-week stay-at-home policy for all the students. Apparently, the school needed time to repair the excessive damages that had occurred on the premises the day before.
Tell me what happened Noah".
Noah hesitated, uncertain how to address the events that had unfolded, she probably had a fair amount of knowledge so he wasn't going to lie this time but he wasn't going to give her all the details too.
Finally, after taking a deep breath, he began to recount the chaos that had erupted.
"Well , a creature attacked the school, sending the entire school into uproar, luckily everyone escaped unharmed but before the police could arrive , it was gone but it destroyed half of the school. Nobody knows why?".
As he described the cascade of incidents, he couldn't help but feel a sense of guilt growing inside. He knew that his dual nature as a lycan, although mostly kept hidden, was fully responsible for putting his whole school in danger.
As Noah finished his breakfast, he knew that the next two weeks would not only involve repairing the physical damage to the school but also navigating the complex aftermath of yesterday's incident .
He needed to talk to Aries but how? His phone got misplaced yesterday and he still has no idea where it might be.
He sighed, first his bicycle, now his phone. He was beginning to think maybe he had another secret ability of loosing things important to him.
Either ways , he was going to go to the forest, he might be lucky enough to come across Aries and find out more about his powers. Was it normal to get really exhausted after a fight? Why did his hair turn white?
He thanked his mom for the meal and headed out .
As he walked through the busy road, a sudden choking smell filled his lung, making him to cough out loud and uncontrollably.
He noticed a crowd of people gathered in front of a nearby story building.
His keen senses immediately detected the unmistakable smell of smoke and the sound of crackling flames.
"A building on fire?" He thought to himself.
Amongst the chaos and commotion, a woman's desperate cries caught his attention.
"Someone please save my daughter, she's trapped inside the fire. She's my only daughter, anyone please save her!".
She cried out in anguish, her voice trembling with fear.
"I can save her daughter!" He thought to himself
But then reality dawned on him that this wasn't his business, so he shouldn't go around acting like a hero when he still didn't understand his powers.
He could get himself killed or worse, accidentally hurt the girl when he's trying to save her.
Although he knew he shouldn't interfere, a surge of empathy washed over him as he witnessed the woman's anguish.
He knew that every second counted, and he couldn't bear to leave the little girl's fate to chance, especially with the fire department yet to arrive.
The flame on the building seemed to be getting hotter and larger.
She could die in there and none of the people around were expert in savings little girls from a burning building. The fire department were on their way but would she really survive before they got here.
A part of him really wanted to save her, the grateful looks he would get when he saved her daughter would really make him feel a lot better and motivated with his powers.
But a larger part of him was thinking of all the possible scenario of this going horribly wrong.
Unable to make up his mind, he gritted his teeth, shut his eyes and walked away. He wasn't the hero he thought he could be. The fire fighters will save her, not him.
The screams of the girls mother seem to fade as he got further away from the scene.
He couldn't help but feel terrible but this was the most logical thing to do.
Amidst the mystic depths of the forest. Reminiscing their last encounter, Noah realized he had forgotten the exact location.
"Oh men, why do I keep forgetting where that tree is..."
Then he remembered how in the wolf movies how they had incredible sense of smell. But he was unsure how it would work. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to try, only if he still had his phone, then this would have been a lot more easier.
He closed his eyes and inhaled deeply, allowing the essence of the wilderness to seep into his being.
To his surprise,he could almost taste the crisp forest air filled with the aroma of damp earth, pine needles, and the sweet fragrance of wildflowers.
Everything became clear, he quickly recalled the smell of the oak tree where he last saw him.
Led by this lycan scent, Noah made his way through the dense vegetation.
He got the the large oak tree, the place where they met but no one was here. How was he going to contact him ?
He sat down at the root of a tree and observed his surroundings while waiting for Aries, a possibility that he might come.
"Maybe it's possible for me to learn how to control my powers by myself. If I could learn to shift easily without being in a life or death situation, it would be a huge help for me".
After an hour of overthinking, Noah drifted off into a deep slumber.
However, his rest was disturbed abruptly as he jolted awake to a menacing figure brandishing two gleaming swords, poised to strike at his vulnerable head.
Instinctively, his body reacted before his mind fully comprehended the danger, and with remarkable agility, he managed to evade the deadly blades mere inches from his scalp.
Confusion and adrenaline coursed through his veins as he processed the sudden attack.
Aries?. Why was he attacking him? What was going on?.
Before he could gather his thoughts, the attacker, with a blur of blinding speed, unleashed another flurry of strikes. But the Noah's instincts had not abandoned him; he weaved and dodged, causing the assailant's blades to slice through the air, felling towering trees with each miss.
He wasn't sure what was going on but he couldn't stay here anymore.
"Aries! What are you doing?! It's me Noah. Why are you attacking me?!. Noah shouted, after getting a good distance between himself and Aries.
Was he under some kind of hypnosis? .
The attacker smirks, his cold eyes gleaming with an intimidating glint. With a fluid motion, he swings both swords simultaneously, launching a relentless barrage of strikes.
Noah's instincts kick in once again, enabling him to dodge each attack with astonishing speed and agility.
As the intense fight continues, the forest around them suffers the consequences of their fierce clash. Trees are slashed and splintered, their trunks falling like dominoes, and the ground shakes beneath their feet. Noah's mind races, trying to understand the motive behind this merciless assault.
Realizing that mere evasion could not guarantee his safety, Noah leaped from one tree to another, his movements melding seamlessly with his surroundings. However, despite his remarkable prowess, the attacker proved relentless, closing the distance between them with relentless determination.
With no choice left, Noah abruptly changes direction, luring his opponent into a false sense of security.
Feeling the attacker's presence looming precariously close, Noah made a fateful decision.
He abruptly turned, his movements appearing inconspicuous, yet his intention to strike back evident.
"If you aren't going to stop,I'll make you stop!"
Harnessing every ounce of strength within him, he launched a powerful punch, unleashing a shockwave that rippled through the forest, toppling trees in its wake.
Yet, to Noah's dismay, Aries effortlessly intercepted the blow with both his blade, dissipating the shockwave as effortlessly as swatting away an insect.
Their faces are intertwined with determination and resolve, two powerful forces clashing in a battle for dominance. Noah's confusion morphs into a fierce determination to protect himself and uncover the truth behind this unexpected assault.
Their fight resumes, filled with swift movements and sharp strikes. Noah fights valiantly, using every ounce of his strength and luck to withstand his opponent's relentless attacks. The forest witnesses the furious clash.
Noah's confusion deepened. Why was he so intent in harming him? If this was some kind of joke, it stopped being funny a long time ago.
Fear surged through the Noah's veins, but he refused to show any weakness. His folded fist, tightening as he braced himself for the imminent clash.
However, just as anticipation filled the air, a sudden twist of events unfolded. Aries, with an air of malefic intent, sheathed both his sword behind his back, an unnerving smirk curling upon his lips. Something was about to happen - something beyond his comprehension.
Noah's bewilderment intensified, confusion etched across his face, as the world seemed to hold its breath.
His eyes widened in startled recognition as the attacker's irises transformed into an intense, mesmerizing shade of blue.
A surge of power pulsed through the air, engulfing the surroundings in an otherworldly aura.
Time seemed to stand still as Aries unleashed an unimaginable abilities, conjuring a colossal wall of fire that soared into the sky, towering higher and wider than anything Noah had ever seen. The flames danced and flickered, their vibrant hues painting the forest in a fiery palette.
Completely caught off guard, Noah found himself frozen in place, for the sheer magnitude of the attack left him momentarily paralyzed by awe and astonishment.
Panic welled up inside him, his mind racing to find a way to counter this overwhelming force that threatened to consume him.
