88.57% Loving His Cruel Brother / Chapter 31: A story to tell

Kapitel 31: A story to tell

After waiting outside the car for a moment, he decided to make it feel like it was just his feeling but he believed that there was someone in his house. Guess he should really have not sent the servants away. He needed a guard because life wasn't safe for anyone.

"What's wrong?" Claire asked when he entered the car. With a strong face, he just shook his head and started the car.

"Wonder how you remember how to drive," she suddenly spoke. Claire knew deep down that Donald was a bit different. His attitude was totally different from the way he used to behave and even though he forgot, she had a feeling that when he didn't like her back then, it wasn't because he had a reason. He just didn't like her so even if he lost his memory, he was still supposed to dislike her but how was she going to prove herself right? She wondered.

However, Corey didn't respond to her words so they both left it unattended. When Corey drove out of the gate, it automatically closed back but he didn't accelerate faster, Corey wanted to be 100% sure that he was wrong.

And as he had expected as he drove out of the estate steadily he noticed someone slip out fastly before the gate completely close up.

Corey acted like he saw nothing and drove faster out of the estate. He wondered deeply about who was in black, he couldn't even fathom whether it was a woman or a man and why would someone be after him?

His uncle had strictly told him not to be with any woman but he hadn't been able to tell his uncle that he had a girl in his life already and he couldn't seem to avoid her. She was literally going to be part of his life.

How was he going to tell his uncle that?

Corey dropped Claire at her house but didn't help with the books, he just sat in the car and waited for her to finish taking the book from the back seat.

Afterwards, he drove his car out of her house without seeing her or saying goodbye or saying she should have a nice day.

When driving out, he noticed someone in black again and wondered what was going on. He suddenly felt scared which he shouldn't but he did something that his uncle would be very upset about if he found out but what if his uncle had found out?

Driving the car, his hands on the wheel began to quake a little as he remembered that night he stabbed his brother. He recalled how difficult it was to kill his brother and let him sink into the water.

Even after practising and practising how to kill his brother he still failed to have the guts, the words his uncle said to him still didn't give him the strength to kill his brother and when Donald said he wanted to explain the misunderstanding they had, he desperately wanted to know but his uncle's men were there and he couldn't do anything about it but to kill his brother.

But what if his uncle had found out what he did behind his back to save his brother? That fear settled in his heart and all over him.

When he was 12, his uncle had shown him multiple times how to hunt and kill animals but when he couldn't kill the animal and let it go. His uncle punished him greatly, and he had to practice under the rain. And that was to keep punching the tree right outside their house.

That pain as Corey recalled made him hate his uncle but the man made him understand that his parents caused it.

Corey had to stop the car by the highway to rest his head on the steering wheel. He recalled how it was discomforting to fight the pain of the burns he had, especially on his thigh. It was painful to hear that the parents he loved so much couldn't save him. It was a dark room and they only called out to Donald in that house.

When he was being isolated in a corner, his parents didn't come for him or call him. In the end, he saw his parents hug Donald as tight as they could and watched as the house exploded with him inside.

It was painful to see that they saw him alone but didn't come his rescue, they only hug their son and let him die in the fire. He'd have died if his uncle didn't come to save him.

Up till now, it pained him so much to an extent of crying but he was grown up now, he shouldn't cry. He should just destroy his parents' lives just as they did to him.

He resumed his drive to work wondering if his brother was dead because he had had a back up plan which he was scared of now. Perhaps, his uncle had found out about his other plan.

Corey parked his car in the parking lot, he climbed out of his car only to meet those men in black but he knew that the one in Claire's house was a woman. Could it be that Claire had been monitored or perhaps in danger too?

However, he wasn't given the chance to think because the men before him took him away. Of course, he was aware of where he was going to so he didn't struggle with the men.

Claire didn't go to work even when it was Monday, she was so curious about Donald so she went to visit his mother, she wanted to know more about him. Asking him was useless because he wouldn't give a genuine answer and right now she needed to know who she was getting married to on Thursday. They only had two days to their wedding and it was something she should know even though she couldn't break the contract agreement.

Claire drove to her mother-in-law's house to find her sitting in the garden having tea and reading a magazine. It was time she knew more about him and soon she got to know that Donald had a twin brother.

"Where's he?" She asked her mother so the woman dropped the paper on the table signalling to Claire that she had a story to tell her.
