Kendall's POV:
"Hey girl! Get up", I heard someone say in my sleep. Could it be I was dreaming or just imagining stuffs in my head? I was certain it wasn't a dream when I heard the same voice and this time, I got a tap on my shoulder. Did it mean someone else was with me in my cell?
I was still kinda sleepy but I managed to open my eyes. Everywhere seemed blurry in the first attempt till I wiped my eyes with my hand and looked up to see who it was. I saw a female officer squatting at my side and then, I diverted my gaze to my cell gate. It was flung wide open.
Did it mean I had already been granted my bail? I hadn't even gone through the court yet and besides, the last time I heard from Barrister Dawson, which was about two days ago, he said he was still gathering evidences and the day of my Verdict was today, but here I was. Now, everything looked confusing to me.
"Am I free to go, ma'am?", I curiously asked the officer. I saw her raise a brow at me. I already knew what that look meant.
"How could you forget so easily? You'd be presenting yourself in court today", she answered. She continued: "We have less than an hour to be there. So, you have to come with me now", she said. I didn't respond further. I kept mute.
With that, she cuffed my both hands and led me out of my cell. And then, out of the station. We walked over to a black police van parked outside the station. I was made to sit in-between two officers and then, one sat in the front seat with the driver. In all were two males and a female officer.
For the first time in a long while, I could feel the fresh breeze blowing in all directions. My nerves were a little bit relaxed. There was only one thing I was worried about, my verdict.
The day of my verdict was finally here. I was already feeling the tension stir up from within. I couldn't imagine myself lose the case to Adrian. That will be the greatest loss in the history of my life. I had put whole trust in my lawyer. I couldn't be the victim of my very own game. This was my last chance.
The ride was smooth. It seemed like time was slowed down. It took long before we arrived at the Court of Law. It was the highest court in the City. My eyes caught Adrian's red Ferrari car parked in front of the court, but it seemed he had gone in already because there was no one in there.
I never knew a day like this would come. He was gonna testify against me this day. The officers ordered me out of the van and led me into court. My legs were already shaking badly. I couldn't let my fears rule over my mind.
