Daemon gave Evelyn the time to calm down. He turned back to the scenery, his eyes hiding the thoughts going through his mind, like the unknown depths of a lake.

When Evelyn finally regained some of her bearing, her emotions calmer, she looked at the profile of the man she loved, and for the first time, she noticed some obvious things.

The height difference between them was different from before. While her skin remained fair, his had become a little more tanned. His physique was also more developed, something she had appreciated before without taking the time to think about. And those were just changes visible outside, because what life tended to change the most was the heart, and the mind.
