Kapitel 75: "THE COLD TREATMENT"

In the morning, Alena woke up early and cooked breakfast with the help of maids. Soon her mother-in-law came and saw her working and a smiled covered her face. She spoke, "Why are you so early, you should have rested and let the maids do the work".

Alena spoke, "Don't worry mother, I know these works and I was free anyway so I cooked, Go and wait at the dining table I will be done soon". She nodded and went to the dining area. Alena came holding a big tray and other maids followed behind her.

After placing the foods on the table, she started serving the food when her mother-in-law spoked "You still love Damon so much, you cooked his favorite food" and smiled at her. At this Alena was completely shocked and more than her there was someone walking down the stairs who was speechless. "After what happened the previous night how can she cook my favorite food?" Damon thought but still descended all the stars to the dining hall and sat at his usual place. Alena was silently serving her mother-in-law when he greeted "Good Morning mother, Good Morning Catherine". She wanted to ignore but she didn't want his mother to get upset so she replied without looking at him "Morning".

His mother started the conversation "Good Morning child, Are you leaving for work?" He replied, "Yes, there has been a lot of work recently". His mother looked at me and asked, "And what about you dear, what are your plans for today?" Before Alena could reply Damon spoke, "She a colleague in my office, of course, she will accompany me".

Alena after hearing his words wanted to throw all the food on his face but endured it and calmly said, "Yes mother, unfortunately, I have work and I won't be able to accompany you so wait for me, I will try to return early and cook a nutritious meal for you". Her mother-in-law was so happy she smiled and patted her shoulder and they sat to dig in but Alena didn't server Mr.Demon so he took all the food by himself. He saw she had baked bread, there was a simple yet nutritious soup and some poached eggs accompanied by gaggery tea and all was up to his liking.

After having breakfast Alena stood and took her mother-in-law to the sofa in the drawing-room and went upstairs. Soon she hurried down after changing into office attires and an office bag. Before going to her mother-in-law, she went to the nearby drawer and retrieved something. She stood before her mother-in-law and passed her medicines. Her mother-in-law smiled and took the pills and said, "You care so much about me like earlier, I am really very fortunate to have a daughter-in-law like you" and kissed her forehead. Alena smiled her took her hands in her and said, "I am the fortunate the one to have a mother-in-law like you".

After bidding goodbye and instructing one of the maids about the medicines, she finally walked to the main door where Damon was standing waiting for her. He watched her every step and movement from the time she went upstairs. Alena noticed this but completely ignored him, changed her shoes, and directly went to the car and sat inside without waiting for him.

In the car, Damon wanted to initiate a conversation but when he turned towards her, he saw she had stuffed earphones in her ear, so saying something was useless. He got it that she was purposely ignoring him but Damon thought "Let's see for how much time you will ignore me, by the end of the day I will make you notice me and talk to me".
