The afternoon sun was a glowing medallion as the sunlight seeped in through the curtained window and shone on the calla lily placed on the coffee table, making it look as white and clear as snow.

She took her phone out of her bag and saw that there was only one missed call.

She waited for about five to six minutes, but that person did not call a second time.

She waited for another few minutes, but her phone never rang.

She lightly hit her brain out of annoyance. She forgot that it was Gabriel she was talking about and not John.

In the past, whenever she threw a tantrum, John would always give way to her. As long as she did not answer her phone, he would keep calling until she was willing to answer.
