Kapitel 12: chapter 12:

My whole life, people have been everything but nice to me. No one thought about my well-being, nobody asked about me. I spent days and nights crying, hurting, yet no one was there for me. The only one who cared about me left, and they made me believe that no one could care, they made me accept the fact that people, instead of helping, they make fun of me.

Yet, in one single look at me, this young man did his best to protect me. The feeling was oddly new, the feeling of being safe, protected, like you have someone to lean on.

"you deserve the world, princess," he said, his words a lifeline thrown to a drowning soul. A few simple words that made me realize how much people had hurt me, how long I had been keeping up with the abuse and the pain. How come a stranger was willing to help me, while my own father beat me to the point of breaking my spirit?
