Kapitel 37: AS GOOD AS IT CAN BE

(KIM SEOKJIN'S POV)

I cry silently, snuggled up in the blankets while I hear Namjoon crying in the bathroom. I did the right thing, he's going to be over me, eventually, and he won't take any risks.

Someday, he's going to be alive and happy and I'm going to be able to watch him enjoy it with someone else, someone else who doesn't mean any threat to his life.

If I'm still alive.

(JUNG JUNGKOOK'S POV)

Jimin pushes me harshly out of the bathroom. "Couldn't you just wait I get out by myself?" I protest, massaging my arm and streatching my hand.

"Sorry!" He yells from the bathroom. He turns on the water of the shower a few seconds later.

I look at Taehyung as I walk to the closet, he's staring at his phone, not caring what's going on outside his own world. I don't put the clothes I used today in the luggage, I don't want to mix the clean ones with the dirty ones.

"Jungkook, can we talk?" Taehyung says.

He's a few centimetres apart from me. The unexpected proximity makes my heart jump, I gulp and manage myself to nod.

"Come." He points with his head at the balcony.

I go out first and I sit on a chair, looking how he lets the door half open. He sits in front of me and leans his arms on the small round coffee table.

My nose gets red and I hide my hands inside the sleeves. I don't protest, afraid of what he's capable to do to me.

He exhales. "I've been a jerk to you the other day."

"Understandable." I scoff. "Look, if you want to keep tormenting me because of what I did-"

"I don't." He states. "Actually, I want to be chill around you. Things with Jimin are getting better, and I think we're going to get back together."

"Congratulations." I give him a small smile.

"Don't you care?" He frowns.

I sigh. "Taehyung, I want you to be happy with Jimin. I already told him you don't need to worry about me." I'm tired of this misunderstanding.

"Don't you want to kiss him again? Don't you want to kiss me?" He closes his arms.

"What do you mean?" I frown. "No, of course not. It won't happen again." I close my fits, tightly.

"I was just wondering." He looks around with his eyes.

"I'm not what you're thinking, Taehyung." I stare at him. "I'm still Jungkook. I can understand why you're mad, and I'm sorry. But don't be passive aggressive with me, I'm not liking the way you're talking to me."

"And I didn't like how you kissed my boyfriend."

"What do you want, Taehyung?" I analyse his face, but he quickly lowers his head and scratches his head.

"I'm sorry, I let my jealousy get over me again." He confesses. "I really want to be friends again, you were my Kookie, but. . . I hate what happened between you two. I can't get it off my head."

"I know. For my part, I won't do anything that can damage your relationship ever again."

"Do you mean Jimin will?"

"Taehyung," I bite my lip. "He loves you, okay? He would never do that to you."

"I think I'm paranoid now." He pouts.

"You don't need to," I lean to hold both of his hands. This is an old habit I can't break, but he doesn't refuse. "Jimin would never, ever cheat on you. Jimin's going to talk to you and he won't keep anything away from you. If it wasn't for me, that kiss would have never happened."

Taehyung's eyes are watering. "You promise?"

"I promise." I caress his hands. "You deserve everything this world has to offer, as long as it's positive."

He sniffs. "Thank you, I keep forgetting that you also like me." He chuckles.

"Hey!" I can't help but chuckle along. "So, everything good?"

He shrugs. "As good as it can be."

"Give Jimin another opportunity, he won't let you down."

He nods. "Thank you for helping us. How can you be so pure? If I were you I. . . I. . . I don't know what I would do, actually."

"You're my best friends, above everything else."

"Aren't you jealous, though?"

I shake my head. "I want to see you happy. I'm only fifteen, I've a lot of things to learn. I've never been as close as I am with you with anyone else, it confused me. I'll get over it sooner than all of you expect."

He bites his lower lip, slowly. "Can I. . ." He makes a pause, shrugging. "Hug you?"

I nod, smiling.

He gets up, the chair hitting the wall. Before I can realise it, his arms are embracing my neck and his head is resting on mine.

"I've missed you, Kookie." He says, sniffing.

"I've missed you too, Tae."

Tears stream down my face. I sniff, breaking the hug. "Can we go inside? I'm cold." I giggle, rubbing my runny nose.

He grabs my hand and leads me inside, closing the door and drawing the curtains. I make myself comfortable on the bed, while he grabs his phone again and sits, resting his back on the wall.

Jimin's still in the bathroom, but the water is no longer falling from the hose.
