Kapitel 30: Chapter Thirty
Time, one of the most important things in life. ' Time supports you when you form relations' , Ahana had taught Zawadi that and she sincerely hoped that time would be on her side when she met Lucas"s mother for the second time.
Her approval meant alot to her and although she didn't show it, she had been greatly affected by her rejection . Many months had passed but still the memory remained rooted in her brain.
Everytime there was a mention of Mrs Steele, the memory of how she threw her out of her house invaded her mind.
But maybe, Just maybe, she had realized after all those months that Zawadi wasn't after Lucas's money.
Another benefits of time. Time brought about change and she hoped that Mrs Steele had gotten a change of heart.
She sighed heavily while looking at her reflection in the mirror. She was nervous about meeting her again after all those months .

They were on their way to Mrs Steele's house, again. This time, for a different reason. A family gathering, she had been informed.
She was happy that she would be meeting Lucas's family on one hand, while on the other, she was scared.
Scared that just like his mother, his family would reject her. She would be strong however, she vowed. For herself and for her love.
"What's on your mind, Cupcake " Lucas's voice drew her back to reality.
"Nothing " she answered hesitantly.
"It doesn't seem like it. Are you nervous about meeting my family? " he laid a kiss on the back of her hand.
"Yes, actually. Your mother doesn't like me. What if the rest of your family feels the same? " she asked worriedly.
"They will love you, especially my sister Sabine. She will love you the most I am sure. "
"I hope so " she said with a sigh.
After a few minutes they arrived at Mrs Steele's place. It was the same as she remembered it, beautiful. But of course she wouldn't forget that she was not wanted in that beautiful house, Mrs Steele had been kind enough to let her know the last time they met. A gold digger, she had called her. I
With a heavy sigh, she walked inside, her hands laced with Lucas's.
"Uncle Luckey, " a small child came running towards them, launching himself on Luca's arms.
"Hey there champ" Lucas said, picking him up.
"Hi, I missed you so much" he pouted.
"Well I am here now " Lucas kissed his cheek.
"Who is she? She is beautiful " The little boy commented eyeing Zawadi.
"She is my girlfriend. Her name is Zawadi" Lucas introduced, " And Zawadi, this is my nephew Adam " he continued.
"Hi, Adam, It's nice to meet you" Zawadi said..
"She is so pwety" Adam said again making Zawadi chuckle.
"Wooh there buddy she is mine" Lucas said with a fake scowl making Adam turn his gaze to him.
"Hey, there butface." A young woman greeted coming towards Zawadi and Lucas followed by two men almost Lucas's age.
"If it isn't the most annoying sister in the world " Lucas groaned rolling his eyes.
"Oh, come on. You love me this way " She commented cheekily.
"Sadly, I do" Lucas said placing Adam on his feet.
"I am going to play my video game ,Uncle. " Adam said before walking to his room.
" Okay champ, I'll see you later. And I got you this" he pulled out a big chocolate bar from his back pocket and held it in the air.
Adam came back running to Lucas. Lucas bent down and handed him the chocolate bar.
"Thank you uncle, I love you " he pecked his cheek before running up to his room.
"You spoil him too much" the young woman complained.
"Come on, let him have the chocolate. Why should I not spoil him when I love him so much."
Lucas spoke about Adam with so much love and admiration that Zawadi couldn't help but imagine their future together with their kids. He would be a great father, she decided.
"Hey bro, Who is the eye candy beside you?" One of the men asked.
"She is off limits " Lucas said sternly.
"Zawadi, these are my annoying siblings, Alexander..." he pointed at the man who had been talking to him" He is my favorite, Henry, he knows when to be quiet.." he said making her laugh.
"And finally this is my little sister, Sabine" He introduced, putting emphasis on the word little.
"You just had to mention that... " Sabine rolled her eyes. " Anyways Zawadi, its nice to meet you" She extended her hand which Zawadi shook almost immediately.
"Hey Zawadi, I know that I keep quiet most of the time, but I just have to say, you are really beautiful. Aaand... " He drawled out the 'and' " If you one day get fed up of my lame brother here then you can always come to me. I know I am more handsome than he is. " Henry finished throwing her a wink.
Lucas pulled her to himself, holding her by the waist, he mumbled a soft' 'Mine'
"That's a very tempting offer Henry but it won't be necessary, I think I'll just make do with your brother" she playfully commented making Lucas growl at his brother.
Everyone laughed at his actions.
"I like her, I think we will be best friends " Sabine said.
"Where is mom" Lucas asked looking around.
"She is in the kitchen, I'll go call her" He decided and excused himself.
Zawadi became nervous at the mention of Mrs Steele. She knew exactly how she felt about her dating Lucas. She also knew what to expect from her, insults.
With a heavy sigh, she hugged Lucas around the waist and buried her face in his chest, almost afraid that his mother would take him away.
"Ooh, how cute, "Sabine commented snapping a photo.
"Lucas my baby" Mrs Steele cooed as she came from the kitchen with Alex after him.
"Hi mom" Lucas said moving out of Zawadi's hug to greet her mother.
"How are you son? It's been so long. Why did you stop visiting? Did she convince you not to. " Mrs Steele said the she with so much venom, staring at Zawadi.
"Please don't start mom." Lucas warned sternly moving out of Lucas embrace.
