Kapitel 13: Chapter Thirteen.
Lucas lifted his head to look at Zawadi. He saw her stretching on the couch. She looked like she wanted to sleep, but was holding herself back.
She laid down on the couch again and closed her eyes. After a few seconds she started turning, again and again.
"Are you okay cupcake? " Lucas asked with an amused smile.
"Yeah. I'm sorry if I disturbed you." she said as she let out a yawn.
"Come here" he called.
"No, it's okay I'm fine really " she said.
"Just come, will you? " he said
"Okay" she moved slowly and stopped beside his desk.
"Closer" he said with a grin clearly loving her reaction.
She moved beside his chair and he immediately yanked her arm, making her fall on his lap with a yelp.
"There" he said, holding onto her waist.
"What are you doing? You need to finish your work " she said laughing slightly.
"And I will, you just have to stay still " he said as he adjusted his computer so that he was able to reach it.
"She moved closer to him and nuzzled her face in his neck, sniffing him.
"Are you sniffing me? " he asked amused.
"You smell so good " she sleepily replied. To which he just laughed.
Zawadi wiggled in her sleep, making Lucas draw in a deep breath. She was making it hard for him to focus, even though she was asleep.
His body was very aware of hers and it's proximity to hers. And that alone drew response from him as easily as a hand turning on a tap. His body tensed with every one of her movements.
He was also aware of his member that was now pebble hard, pressing against her. He took a deep breath and continued to work.
By the time he was done, Zawadi was fast asleep. He didnt want to disturb her so he just picked her up.
He strode out oh his office to the parking lot. Careful not to wake her, ignoring the shocked faces of his employees.
They had never seen him with a girl and he had never had a girlfriend before, therefore it was strange seeing him with a girl sleeping in his arms.
He opened the door to his car and was just about to strap her seatbelt after putting her down on the seat.
"Where are we? " she asked, rubbing her eyes.
All this while his eyes were focused on the scene before him. She was so cute, so innocent, like no other woman he had ever met.
"We are in the parking lot. I was just about to strap you in. " he answered.
"How did I get here" she asked with a yawn.
She looked so cute, he couldn't help but gather her in his arms.
"I carried you here" he placed a kiss on her cheek.
"You didn't have to do that. I'm heavy" she whined.
"You are not heavy and I didn't want to wake you" he drew her back to smile at her.
"Let's go or we will be late" he said setting her down on the car seat and stealing her in before moving to the get in through the other side.
"Where are we going? "Zawadi asked, her voice showing how excited she was.
"It's a surprise cupcake " Lucas chuckled.
"Just tell me, please " she pouted, sticking out her lower lip.
Lucas groaned before saying " don't do that cupcake, you don't know the effect you have on me"
He lowered his eyes to the bulge in his pants and her eyes followed his, she let out a gasp when she saw what he meant.
Blushing furiously, she turned her face to the window, biting her lip, she said a quick "sorry"
She continued to blush, still biting on her lip, until he spoke, "You know I can see your reflection on the window"
She just blushed even more and lowered her head.
"We are here, " Lucas announced.
''St Monica Children's Hospital" she read quietly.
He brought her to a children's hospital? Maybe there was someone he knew there. She thought.
"A children's hospital? " she voiced her thoughts.
"Yeah. Come, I want to show you something " he said taking her hand in his, he led her inside.
She looked around the hospital as he led her to the lift. The lift stopped and they stepped out.
They entered a giant hall full of children.
'Happy birthday Liam's was written in colourful balloons on the walls.
A birthday celebration ' she thought and smiled.
"Lucas" all the kids shouted in unison and ran towards him, those who could at least. Since some of them were on hospital beds.
They pounced on him, taking him down with them. Lucas laughed wholeheartedly and began placing kisses on the cheeks of each child.
Zawadi watched the whole scene unfold with a huge smile on her face. Lucas was different, that she had known from day one, she just hadn't known that he was this caring.
He had brought her with him to attend a child's birthday party, a sick child, in a hospital . She truly was honored.
She watched as he continued to play with the children, laughing with them, making funny faces that made them laugh.
There were no cameras, no reporters, just him and the sick children. He was making them happy, without expecting anything in return.
At that very moment, without even realizing it, Zawadi fell in love with Lucas"
She looked up to find the children looking at her. Lucas moved from where he was on the floor to stand beside her.
"Everyone, this is Zawadi, Zawadi this are my friends and this one here is the birthday boy" Lucas introduced.
"Hi Zawadi" They all greeted in unison.
"Hi" she replied, a huge smile playing on her lips.
"She's pwety " one of the children remarked and she let out an 'awww'
"And you are so cute " Zawadi said pinching her cheek lightly.
Lucas just laughed and carried the child in his arms.
"Zawadi, this is Mary Jane we all call her MJ" Lucas said and kissed MJ's cheek.
"I'm so happy you brought me here, thank you " Zawadi told Lucas.
