Kapitel 31: Ch 31: Running away before getting caught [pt2]
It was apparent why the administrator was so shocked by Soma's achievement.
It was not unheard of for someone in the tutorial stages to defeat a ranker.
"I just happened to get lucky this time. But enough about my luck! Give me my reward for my labor."
Soma held his hand out for the reward.
His attitude did not sit well with the administrator, and he sighed annoyedly.
"Today's youth is too impatient. Just wait a minute, and I will give you the promised power. There is no need to be this insistent."
The administrator brought out his panel and commanded something on it.
[You received 50,000 coins.]
[You received +10 free skill points.]
[You received a mystery egg. Mystery egg hatching level 0%. Take it to 100% and receive a mystery reward.]
Soma looked at the administrator solemnly and asked, 'Is that it?'
The administrator pretended he did not understand Soma's expression of asking for more.
"Enjoy your one-week vacation, kid. I hope to see you make a name for yourself soon. And remember, if you want to avoid trouble, join my guild as soon as possible. I will vouch for you."
The administrator quickly escaped the situation since he did not want to explain anything to Soma.
"Great! The administrator left me with more questions than answers. How do I even go hatching this egg now?"
Soma looked at the egg in his inventory before forgetting about it for the time being.
There was no point in trying to hatch the egg or wasting energy worrying about the egg.
The clock started to tick down, and it was the start of the last seven days in the final tutorial.
Everyone only had one goal: to defeat Soma and take his points.
Meanwhile, Soma relaxed in the safety of his Absolute protection unit and went to sleep.
He used his free time well to recover the man and his health.
After about a dozen potions later, Soma decided to leave his protective place and go farming.
He needed to avoid other players for about a week.
The planet was not small in diameter but not big enough to hide the whole week in a single place.
"Let's see. Is there anything I can do in the meantime? I have about a week left."
Soma looked at all the domains available for this tutorial he could challenge but could not find one he liked.
So, he kept scrolling down the page until he reached the last page.
The dungeon looked normal at first, but Soma's instincts were telling him that he should try this dungeon out.
It was only a day's walk away, leaving Soma with six days to clear it.
Soma did not often listen to his instincts, but he did not know why he decided to listen to them this time and decided to check the dungeon out.
He walked through the metallic forest and reached the section where he had faced the tiger before.
The dungeon was situated in a hidden cave in that region.
Soma parted the shrubs that were in the way and entered the dungeon.
[You have entered the unique dungeon 'Nature's Venture. You cannot leave the dungeon until you clear it.]
The message sounded terrifying, but Soma was not as worried as he should have been regarding this situation.
The system did not tell Soma that he would be automatically thrown out once the tutorial time was over.
Son Yukong had experienced this phenomenon firsthand, so there was proof to support his claim.
Soma entered the dungeon to clear it, and he instantly ran into a bunch of high-level monsters.
They were all level around level 25, and Soma they gave Soma no time to breathe when they attacked him.
They all had sharp claws, and their smaller, sleek bodies were built for speed.
Thankfully, these monsters could not harm Soma too much.
[Icy Jewel has been activated.]
[Mind's eye has activated]
[Master of Sword has activated]
[Angel of Agility has activated]
With all these abilities working simultaneously, it was easy for Soma to clear the region and kill the monsters along the way.
Floors 1-10 were a breeze, and Soma only ran into his first obstacle on Floor 11 of the dungeon.
It was a level 29 snake-like monster with poison venomous enough to sting Soma and even melt his knife with poison resistance.
It even melted the Rickard spider strings, a first for Soma.
Thankfully, this monster had a huge weakness: Hell fire.
Fire surged around the floor, and the monster flinched as the blue flames reached for the monster and reduced it to ashes.
Floor 12 had a frozen plant, and Floor 13 had an empty but dark room, which required the player to follow the wall to get out of the affected area.
Then came Floor 14, and Soma paused.
The room was empty, and no boss or puzzle could be seen.
Soma considered what kind of mechanism could be in his room, but he could not figure it out at first glance.
Since the room looked suspicious, Soma took a disposal knife from his inventory and threw it toward the floor.
The knife struck the ground, and it instantly sank into the floor.
"I see. So, the challenge is not stepping on this floor or being fast enough to cross it before the sand swallows me."
Soma took a deep breath before clutching the remaining strings and throwing them toward the wall.
He tied one side of the string with the knife to embed it into the wall and carefully hung himself from it.
Unlike the floor, the wall and even the ceiling look unaffected by the quicksand effect.
Soma slowly pulled himself toward the other side, and his feet finally touched the ground on the other side.
The floor instantly fell apart, and all the sand disappeared beneath Soma's feet.
He breathed a sigh of relief once he realized he had made it across without any problem.
Floor 15 was the tower's first roadblock, and Soma decided to rest before tackling Floor 15.
He could see the boss monster from his position outside the gate, and Soma waited for the beast to relax before he decided to do something about it.
Soma observed his opponent and noticed some key points.
First, the monster was level 30, so it would take much work to beat.
It also had scaly armor on its body, so Soma would likely have to find its reverse scale.
Thankfully, he had mind's eye to help him out.
[Mind's eye activated. You can now see the weakness of your opponents.]
[Mind's eye leveled up: 5%->7%]
The monster had three spots of weakness, and Soma quickly chose the one that would be easiest to hit - the belly.
Soma rolled a small ball toward the monster to see if it would react to it or not.
But the monster did not even twitch.
Soma had attracted his strings to the ball to bring it back quickly.
Next time, he rolled a ball filled with mana toward the monster.
There was an instant response this time.
The monster attacked the ball as soon as it sensed mana nearby.
The monster was reacting to the mana that Soma was letting out of his body.
The monster was fast and attacked accurately, knocking the ball flat.
The threads did not break, but Soma had to give up on them before he was dragged into the room.
The monster calmed down as soon as the supply of Mana was cut off from Soma's side.
Soma quickly thought through his options before he was set to attack the monster.
But before Soma could attack, he needed to upgrade his skills.
Soma put his extra skills into his techniques, and they leveled up.
[Master of mana Manipulation has leveled up from 3%->10%. You used all your skill points]
[You can now hide your mana from low-level enemies.]
It was time to act now.
Soma suppressed his mana as much as he could before he entered the room.
The monster did not look up from its position, and Soma slowly crawled toward the beast.
He slowly but surely got close to the beast and took out Icy Jewel.
Soma attacked, his sword flaring with Mana, and it caused the monster to wake up immediately.
But the damage had been done already, and the monster slowed down considerably.
However, even if the monster was slow, it was not helpless.
A single strike of the monster's paw caused the ground to shake and break.
Soma would have lost his balance if he had not gripped his strings tightly.
Soma pulled at the strings to keep himself standing, but the monster tried to cut off the strings and make Soma fall.
He let go of the strings before he could fall, and the monster staggered.
The sudden loss of momentum caused the monster to stagger and expose its belly.
That was when Soma decided to attack it and exploit its weak point.
