Lactia was a country compromised of luxury. She had read about it in her books. She had always wished to see it but she knew that it would only be a fickle dream. Lumielle promised that she would no longer dream.

"Is there anything you want?" Eldrige queried, he casually moved some papers out of the way to look at his young daughter.

His daughter, his own flesh blood was in front of him, and yet, Lumielle didn't feel anything. It was useless to cling to him. She wondered what she had done so wrong for her to be abandoned. The two siblings were tossed in a cold empty grave, forced to adapt as best as they could. Wings clipped as they clung to one another. Their world was so small.

Aris was fragile. He was a year younger than she was. Yet, he was far more naive. He yearned to be loved. She knew it and his inferiority from never receiving Eldrige's affection had manifested when he was the Emperor. After all the help Lumielle had given him, Eldrige had finally turned an eye to her.
