In the Game Club.
The unsuspecting lamb walked eagerly into the wolves' den, but in mere moments, she was figuratively stripped to her wool.
"…I lost." Hana muttered, looking utterly defeated. "It was going so well at first. How did I end up losing?"
Miko glanced at her friend, sighing inwardly. 'Everyone here is a wolf in disguise; you're the only lamb. Who else would lose if not you?'
"I won!" Chika declared proudly, lifting her chin and revealing her slender neck. "Now, Hana-chan, you must accept the penalty!"
To avoid further protest, Chika quickly announced, "Player Three and Player Five must hold hands for five minutes."
Hana was Player Three.
Naturally, Amamiya was Player Five.
Hana looked startled, a bit suspicious. "Hey, why are we holding hands again?"
"Well, if Hana-chan doesn't want to hold hands…" Chika clasped her hands sweetly, smiling as she added, "how about hugging for five minutes instead?"
"No way!" Hana quickly shook her head, blushing. "Hand-holding is fine."
The idea of hugging a boy in front of everyone was simply too much.
Amamiya leaned over to Chika and muttered, "So, it's true. Beneath that sweet exterior, pink can turn black."
"Amamiya-kun, did you say something?" Chika asked, flashing a sweet smile his way.
Amamiya immediately straightened. "I said Fujiwara-san is absolutely adorable."
"Hmph."
---
Hana turned, extending her hand toward Amamiya.
He gently took her warm, soft hand. "Thank you for your hospitality," he murmured.
As the copying process began, the others busied themselves with chatter. Chika even pulled out a bag of snacks to share, filling the air with the sound of laughter and crunching.
Before long, their five minutes were up.
"All done," Amamiya said, releasing her hand.
Blushing slightly, Hana quickly withdrew her hand.
"Time to head back to class," Kaguya announced, seeing they had acquired what they needed.
"Not so fast!" Chika quickly blocked her way. "Class doesn't start for a while, and we didn't get to play enough last round. Let's go again!"
"One round isn't enough!" Umi agreed eagerly. "Let's play two more!"
"Two rounds? Not nearly enough." Amamiya steepled his fingers thoughtfully. "How about three more rounds?"
Miko looked exasperated. 'Enough already! If we play three more games, we'll be late for class!'
Reluctantly, Kaguya sank back into her seat.
"Alright, let's go all in this time," Chika said, her eyes scanning each of her friends with a meaningful glint. "Play wholeheartedly and enjoy every bit of the game."
The earlier round had been just a warm-up to tease the unsuspecting lamb. Now, it was time for the real competition.
Understanding Chika's unspoken challenge, excitement filled the room. Even Miko leaned in with renewed interest.
---
Moments later, Amamiya read from his game card. "On a rainy night, you find a runaway high school girl, your money increases by 300,000…"
He looked at Chika, raising an eyebrow. "Why does finding a runaway high schooler give me more money?"
'Food, daily expenses, communication—all those would cost more, so my savings should go down, right?'
Umi rested her chin on her right hand and looked curiously at Amamiya. "Could it be that Amamiya-kun made her get a part-time job and then took the money she earned for himself?"
Amamiya's gaze shifted over to her, silent for a moment. "Is the part-time job you're imagining... respectable?"
Umi winked, gave a thumbs-up, and smiled. "Oh, totally respectable."
'Your expression says otherwise!'
"It's for rent," Chika clarified. "If a girl runs away from home, it's normal for her to save up some pocket money, isn't it?"
'Normal? Not at all. Let alone 300,000 yen, most high schoolers can't even pull together 30,000 yen!'
Next, it was Hana's turn. The girl tossed aside the dice, advanced with her character card, and gasped, "Hey, a marriage event?"
"Marry the player closest to you," Chika said, grinning.
"Eh?!" Hana's eyes widened as she turned to glance at Amamiya, her face growing red.
"It's not Amamiya-kun," Chika interrupted with a shake of her head. "It's the player closest to you on the board."
"The closest player…" Hana squinted at the board. "Oh, it's Shinomiya-san! So I'm marrying Shinomiya-san?"
Kaguya paused. '…Rejected. I never intended to marry a girl!'
"Uh, girls can marry other girls?" Hana stammered, her eyes still wide.
"It's just a game. Gender doesn't apply here," Chika said, resting a hand on her hip. "So it doesn't matter who you marry."
"Oh, I get it."
---
The next round began.
"Congratulations, Kaguya-chan! You just gave birth to five daughters in one go!" Chika announced cheerfully.
"Five daughters at once?" Kaguya blinked, clutching her stomach with a slight grimace. "How could anyone have that many children at once?"
Amamiya sighed sympathetically. 'Forget five kids—supporting just one would be tough enough for you.'
"It's totally possible," Chika said confidently, raising a finger. "I did my research before we started this game. The maximum possible for humans is fifteen babies at once!"
"That many?" Miko gasped. "Imagine how big someone's belly would have to be!"
"Wow," Amamiya muttered, narrowing his eyes. "She could practically start a whole football team."
Umi took her turn next, eagerly throwing the dice.
"Eh, a 100% cheating card?" Umi puffed up her cheeks, turning to glare at Amamiya. "Amamiya-kun, are you seriously cheating?"
Amamiya's expression remained flat. "The only person I'd 'cheat' on you with is... you."
"That doesn't make it okay!" Umi protested, crossing her arms. "Cheating is unacceptable—a complete betrayal of family and loyalty! The penalty is chemical castration!"
'Of all people, you hardly have room to call others out for cheating.'
"I support it," Chika said, raising her hand. "Even Alan Turing, the father of computer science, was sentenced to chemical castration."
'Get your facts straight!' Turing never had a wife; he wasn't interested in women, much less in cheating on one!
---
At the game's end, Amamiya sighed deeply.
'Living like this would be a nightmare. No wonder people avoid Chika's terrible game creations.'
"It's about time we head back to class," Kaguya said, rubbing her temples as she stood up. 'I'd rather not experience this chaotic life a second time.'
"Wait a minute, everyone!" Hana called out suddenly. "I won this round, but we haven't done the penalty yet!"
Everyone froze.
'Right, there was a punishment phase.'
"Let's use the event simulator!" Hana suggested eagerly, pulling out her phone. "Okay, punishment numbers... Three and Five."
Amamiya raised his hand. "I'm number Three."
Kaguya sighed. "And I'm number Five."
"Now for the random punishment…" Hana's big wheel app spun and quickly stopped. She gasped as the result flashed on screen. "Number Five kisses Number Three? Shinomiya-san has to kiss Amamiya-kun?"
