Julio turned back to Sean. “What you told me about the pups, that’s neat. But how did you save me from dying?”

“I talked from the observation gallery in the operating room and accelerated the healing process so the tears mended quicker. I couldn’t heal you completely. It was too bad. But we’re going to try to speed up the convalescent period so you can mate sooner. Etienne must be climbing the walls. I’m surprised you don’t feel the pull.” Sean popped a cream cake into his mouth.

“I tried to seduce him this morning, but then he explained the mating protocol again. I admit I sulked.” Julio pouted in remembrance.

Sean grinned. “You have fortitude. I would have pitched a hissy. I only waited days, and I was soooo horny, but I couldn’t take care of it myself because I felt like that would be cheating.”

“Those gods must put those thoughts into our heads because when I thought of it, I felt the same way.” Julio laughed.
