Kapitel 4: I’m official now

[A/N Pretty obvious now who the wife is, right? I'm not saying this to fool you in the slightest and I'm being completely honest. Nobar- Utahime is definitely best girl. Don't mind my stutter]

—————

POV Ryoko Jikan

After teasing Utahime a bit more for her Pedophlia, I stopped as I didn't want to go too far.

Eventually we both managed to start a cordial conversation, with no teasing and only my top-tier jokes and her mid-tier jokes.

I should probably teach her some tricks of the trade, it was no fun talking to a humorless baboon.

After another few tens of minutes of driving, the… chauffeur stopped and Utahime exited the car.

Following closely behind her, I realized I never asked her what was happening. Although it seemed pretty obvious, I'd rather confirm that I wasn't about to get sentenced to prison for 'The Baby Drop'.

"Hey, Utahime, we are going to enroll me in Kyoto blah blah right?"

"Before that, you need to be interviewed by principal Yoshinobu Gakuganji."

Shrugging, I continued following Utahime till we reached a sort of gigantic wall.

Staring upwards at the gigantic stone walls, I began to wonder how in the world these things were built. The walls looked old, like they had been built hundreds of years ago, which they probably had.

An odd bit of dust here and there, but overall it looked very well maintained considering their age.

Walking through the not-so-hidden gate, I googled at the ancient architecture around me. It was as if I was walking through one of those cosplay towns, but like way more in depth.

Eventually me and Utahime made it to the center temple. Where I assumed the big shot of this place resided. Oh wait, I remember Utahime told me something about there being this really old guy who was the principal here.

Gaku- gakunaji? something around those lines. I'm sure Utahime would reintroduce me anyway.

Stopping at the front door to the central temple, Utahime turned towards me and glared silently at me, as if trying to convey me of some message.

The message went along the lines of, 'Don't fuck up, idiot'. And I was completely on board with that idea. I didn't know how this principle would react if our interview went wrong. Perhaps I would be charged with Jujutsu Terrorism.

Nodding back at her, she pushed open the door to where the principal would interview me.

A loud creak echoed after the opening of the door, informing me it really needed some oil.

Or who knows maybe he was trying to go for the 'haunted place vibe'.

Utahime went in front of me, blocking my view of the front of the room. But I could certainly see the sides of the room.

Stone columns supported the celling while the second being laid out in intricate patterns that one could study for a life time.

Although the walls ruined the atmosphere that had been building since my arrival by appearing to be freshly built.

Done observing my surroundings, I managed to glance forward just in time for Utahime to side step out of the way and take a quick bow in the direction of whom I assumed to be the principal.

If I were an ordinary bystander, I would assume him to be a decrepit old man who would soon pass on to the afterlife or lack of one.

But I was no ordinary bystander.

I could feel the curse energy roll off of him in droves, although nowhere near my sheer amount. His cursed energy was more refined, elegant even.

It spoke of the untold hardships that he had faced, and that I would be subjecting myself to if I dared become a Jujutsu Sorcerer.

I could run, flee from here and live a life in mediocrity, forever fearful of if I was found and what would happen to me.

But I was no coward.

Suddenly, the curse energy that was being expelled began to increase in its malevolence. Paralyzing me in fear for a brief moment.

But I stood strong and manifested my willpower to counteract the malevolence, barely fending it off.

Soon after Principal Yoshinobu retracted his cursed energy, a seemingly satisfied expression appeared on his face at my performance.

"Very well then, you pass the first of my two tests. Now this could be easy or hard depending on you, so give your best answer. If you fail to pass, then I shall not enroll you."

Cold sweat tarted to slide down my back in droves, I did NOT want for my journey of becoming the strongest to end before it even began.

Yoshinobu put a finger under his chin and seemingly pondering for a brief moment, before he asked a question, "Why do you want to become a jujutsu sorcerer?"

Why? Wasn't it obvious, to protect myself and any future family and friends I make.

"To become the strongest."

Raising an eyebrow, Yoshinobu chuckled to himself while muttering something about 'Say it to his face then'.

Yoshinobu responded to my answer with a mocking voice. "Why? Why do you want to become the strongest?"

Responding in a flat tone, I said what I had just thought moments ago. "To protect myself and any future family and friends I make."

Shaking his head, Yoshinobu responded in a disappointed tone, "And here I thought I wouldn't have to do this."

Before I could react, Yoshinobu charged at me with the ferocity of a tiger, easily breaking my barely formed guard with a sledgehammer like punch.

Flying back into the air for around half a meter, I began to panic. What was this old man doing?!?

Looking at Utahime pitifully for help, she merely looked away as if she didn't notice the assault happening right in front of her eyes.

Looking back at where Yoshinobu was a moment ago, I was shocked by the discovery that he was no longer there.

From my left side I heard a voice, "Danger brings out the core of people, their true selves. I won't stop until I get a satisfactory answer."

Before I could even open my mouth to respond, a punch delivered itself directly unto my temple.

Being flung halfway across the room, I slid across the floor for another quarter of the room's length before I flipped myself upward and landed shakily on my feet.

Wobbling in place, I began to sort out my thoughts. If this old man was going to attack me, I should at least try to give him a hell of a time.

Noticing Yoshinobu charging at me again, I began to spout un-comprehensible gibberish, but I could not form a full word before Yoshinobu was on me again.

Uncontrollably forcing my cursed energy into my limbs and muscles, I shot my arm forward and pushed Yoshinobu's punch's trajectory away from me.

Letting my guard down for just a moment, I felt my legs collapse from under me. In the time I had let my guard down, Yoshinobu had gotten on the floor and used both of his legs like a helicopter blade to shove me unto the ground.

Before I could get up Yoshinobu grabbed one of my feet and spun me around at nauseously high speeds. After building his momentum for a moment, he let me fly towards the right wall.

Feeling my bones creak and crack on impact, I let out a groan of pain. Although I had a monstrously higher amount of cursed energy, I had zero finesse and zero refinement in my control.

"So tell me again. Why. Do. You. Want. To. become a sorcerer."

Coughing up a mouthful of blood, I began to dig deep into my own psyche. Why did I want to become a jujutsu sorcerer?

If anyone attacked me, I could just use reemergence and throw them off a building as a baby. Plain and simple, no need to worry about my safety.

And if any of my family was attacked and killed, I could simply use reemergence on their corpse. And if their corpse was destroyed completely I could leapfrog from one reemergence to another, eventually saving them.

Slowly, words began to form at my lips. The truth about why I wanted to become a sorcerer, "I… I'm spiteful, very much so."

Yoshinobu raised an eyebrow, but did not interrupt my speech.

"I want to prove everyone who said I couldn't succeed, everyone who laughed in my face, everyone who looked at me pitifully wrong. I want to laugh in their faces. See how they despair at me being successful while they work a 9 to 5 white collar job for the rest of their pathetic lives."

That, was something I didn't know I even had in me. The truth behind why I dropped the baby, to spite them. To spite everyone who has ever laughed at me.

Yoshinobu closed his eyes for a brief moment before he opened them again, "Very well then. Although your goal is less than respectable, it will do. To be a sorcerer hatred is needed in equal parts love."

Yoshinobu turned his back towards me and began to walk away, "Your classes start on Monday, be here at 7:00 AM at the latest."
