Kapitel 1: Chapter 1: Establishing a Sect Base

Shifang Continent.

Xiushui Village.

Inside the clay house of the Lin family.

Lin Dayou, a thirty-year-old farmer, felt like he must have misheard something just now. He dug at his ear with his pinky finger and asked the young man in front of him, "You want the family to build you a house?"

Lin Xiao nodded.

Lin Dayou: "An acre of land will be enough? No need to make it too big?"

Lin Xiao nodded again.

Lin Dayou: "You want it completed as soon as possible? You're in a hurry?"

Lin Xiao nodded emphatically.

Lin Dayou looked down at the straw sandals on his feet. They were new, only worn for half a year, and it would be a pity to ruin them.

So, he could only raise his palm, as big as a fan, towards Lin Xiao:

"You lazy brat, not doing any work all day, always dreaming of good things! I also want someone to build me a house on an acre of land! You do nothing all day and still expect me to build you a big house? Why don't you say you want to fly to the heavens!"

Seeing the situation turn bad, Lin Xiao quickly retreated to dodge the large palm:

"Dad, dad, dad! Let's talk this out! No need to resort to violence! Show some class!"

"Class? What class? All I know is that you want a big house from me! How dare you even think about it? Huh? Your brother hasn't even found a wife yet, and here you are, you little rascal, get over here!"

Lin Xiao ran behind the only table in the house: "Well then, how about just half an acre?"

"Hey!" Upon hearing this, Lin Dayou's anger flared up even more.

"I might as well dig you a half-acre pit! You little rascal, today I'm going to teach you a lesson! Get over here!"

The father and son started circling around the only dining table in the house.

As he ran, Lin Xiao shouted, "I don't want half an acre anymore! Just as big as the main room, is that okay?"

Lin Dayou: "Don't even think about it! I'll build you a grass hut, that's more like it!"

Upon hearing this, Lin Xiao immediately raised his voice, "A grass hut is fine, a grass hut is fine! Dad, stop chasing me!"

Lin Dayou, tired of chasing him around the table, stopped in his tracks and waved Lin Xiao over: "If you want me to build you a grass hut, fine, but come over here. Let me give you a good beating, and tomorrow I'll build it for you."

Lin Xiao: ...

In the end, Lin Xiao chose to stop struggling and accepted a good beating from his father.

In exchange, he received a promise that his father would build him a grass hut the next day.

After lunch, Lin Xiao limped out of the house.

He was twelve years old now, which meant he had been in this world for twelve years.

He wasn't sure if his situation was considered transmigration or reincarnation with memories intact.

Either way, it didn't really matter to him.

In his previous life, he was someone with little family connection. His parents divorced when he was three years old, and with their busy careers and new families, the only care they provided to Lin Xiao was the numbers in his bank account.

His grandparents raised him until he was six, then both of them passed away.

After that, he was sent to a boarding school and became a first-grade boarding student.

At the age of six, Lin Xiao had learned to stand on tiptoes to withdraw money from an ATM.

Gradually, Lin Xiao became somewhat aloof, and his classmates thought he was cold and unfriendly.

But that wasn't the case.

He was just an ordinary guy who didn't know how to interact with people.

Aside from schoolwork, his time was occupied with games and anime.

He wasn't good at socializing, but he didn't think he was cold either. And so, day by day, he grew up.

Then, on an ordinary day, he found himself in this world, in the belly of Lin Dayou's wife—who is now his current mother.

His new mother treated him very well, but unfortunately, she passed away early.

A year after he was born, one morning in June, it suddenly started snowing heavily, and the temperature plummeted. The streams froze.

The snow came so strangely.

In the heat of summer, overnight, everything withered, and the snow piled up to an adult's knee.

Because the cold came so suddenly, the firewood they had gathered wasn't enough. The adults could endure it, but little Lin Xiao, who was still in swaddling clothes, shivered uncontrollably, his face turning blue.

Braving the snow, Lin Dayou wrapped himself in a tattered cotton coat, picked up an ax, and went up the mountain to chop firewood.

Lin Xiao's mother spent the whole day holding him, wrapped in a stiff quilt, using her body heat to keep him warm. His two-year-old brother, Lin Yun, also huddled beside him to keep him warm.

A week later, the weather warmed up, and Lin Xiao recovered, but his mother had caught a cold.

In this backward era, a simple cold took her life.

But Lin Xiao was only a year old at the time, too young to walk, so all he could do was watch her close her eyes.

Because of this, Lin Xiao shut himself off for a few years.

It wasn't until he was six years old when Lin Dayou, in the process of gathering materials to make new winter clothes for him and his brother Lin Yun, broke his leg while collecting mountain goods.

Only then did Lin Xiao start to pull himself together.

He still had a father and a brother.

Gradually, he began interacting with the villagers.

And then he discovered that the people in this small village were actually quite nice.

For example, the chubby kid running towards him now.

The person approaching wore a clean short shirt, stood no more than 1.5 meters tall, was wide-bodied and chubby, and his fair face jiggled as he jogged. When he reached Lin Xiao, he stopped, panting heavily.

"Xiao-ge, what's the good news you mentioned yesterday? I waited all night for it." This chubby kid was the third son of the Jiang family in the village, named Jiang Youfu. He had been following Lin Xiao around the village since they were little.

Lin Xiao quickly adjusted his limping posture and smugly raised his eyebrows at him.

"The matter of our sect's base is settled!"

Jiang Youfu looked at him with surprise and disbelief: "Really? During the busy spring season, Uncle Lin agreed to build you a house?"

Lin Xiao scratched his nose in embarrassment: "Well, sort of, but the house turned into a grass hut."

Upon hearing it was a grass hut, Jiang Youfu didn't seem disappointed at all.

"I figured. If Uncle Lin really agreed to build you a house, the sun would have to rise from a latrine."

But even a grass hut was still a place to call their own! Jiang Youfu was quite satisfied and patted Lin Xiao on the shoulder: "Uncle Lin still cares about you. Unlike my dad, he wouldn't even give me a single log, let alone a grass hut."

Lin Xiao hooked his arm around Jiang Youfu's shoulder and started walking towards the mountains.

"Come on, let's go check if the traps we set yesterday caught anything."

Jiang Youfu swallowed his saliva and said, "Xiao-ge, if we caught some wild chickens, how about we roast them?"

"Sure, sure, the drumsticks are yours... But let's be clear, this sect base is my contribution, so I'm the sect leader..."

The reason Lin Xiao needed a place entirely his own to serve as the so-called sect base was that, just a few days ago, on his twelfth birthday, he received a transmigrator's cheat—a system.

According to the system's self-introduction, its full name was the Myriad Worlds Sect Construction System.

However, it was in an inactive state.

To activate the system, the host—Lin Xiao—needed to have a space completely owned by him to serve as the sect base.
