40.54% Into The Chaos Universe [BL] / Chapter 30: Fight

Kapitel 30: Fight

Davy parted his lips to breathe as their gasps and panting echoed. Lyle embraced him tightly while stroking his waist, their chests pressed together. They were still connected, and it seemed as if Lyle didn't have any intention to pull out yet, and even Davy didn't either.

They both remained silent for a few moments, savoring the pleasure they had just experienced, and Davy chose to calm his desire first and bring his sanity back together. His head was buried in Lyle's shoulder. It took a few moments for the heat to gradually subside.

"Lyle," Davy whispered, his tone exhausted.

"Yes?" the other immediately replied. His other hand continued to stroke Davy's back.

Davy remained silent for a few moments as if he was still deciding what to ask or even hesitating. He bit his lower lip before finally asking.

"I saw a note earlier," he began, then paused. He sensed what Lyle's reaction would be. However, Lyle did not appear surprised by this action, as if he expected it. He didn't interrupt Davy, which made him relax for some reason.

Apart from the system obviously keeping something from him, one of the reasons preventing him from truly knowing something about his identity in his over a month with them was the Supremes feigning ignorance most of the time. They patiently explained a lot of things to him while never actually telling him who he was.

And the other, and most important in Davy's opinion, himself. While he was curious, he never asked questions that went beyond the basics. Now, he realized. Something was wrong with him from the start. Normally, as a player, Davy would have asked a lot of questions, especially given his situation of being trapped in the virtual world.

But he didn't. He only complained in his head, but he also accepted and succumbed to the allure of the virtual world quite quickly. Something within him would intercept his thoughts and ignore the most basic common sense as if he were stopping himself from knowing more. He had no idea what that was, and even now, Davy was aware that it was there but didn't know what it was.

This game had messed with his head from the beginning.

"What are you afraid of?" Davy inquired.

Lyle's fingers stopped brushing my hair after hearing his question. Davy knew he was expecting this question, but his realization made him appear surprised.

"I'm afraid of..." Lyle trailed off before continuing as he leaned even further forward and buried his face in Davy's shoulders, engulfing him in an even tighter embrace, "losing you." His voice was muffled, but the emotions he was hiding weren't.

Davy's eyes widened before he leaned all his weight on Lyle and closed his eyes. This warmth, he really loved this. It wasn't the emotions of his character, but his own. He just knew Davy was confused, and yet his emotions were clear at this point.

Davy was certain that Lyle was saying all of this for this character and not for him. Still, he thought it was for him for a moment as the familiar warmth seeped into his entire being with a few recollections that vanished in an instant before it fully manifested in his mind.

It happened again, every time... He'd knock on that barrier, and the darkness would consume him—something he couldn't even stop. So, Davy, before continuing to ask anything, fell asleep.

The next day, they didn't talk about what happened the day before, at least not Davy, and he enjoyed his stay on the floating island before they set out to return to the Chaos Palace.

Davy smiled as he saw the Chaos Palace, his home for the past few weeks, gradually come into focus in his vision. Even though he was only gone for a day, he missed it. Unknowingly, his feelings for it or for them had grown stronger at this point.

A loud crash and explosion echoed through the air, sending smoke into the sky. Davy's smile quickly faded and was replaced by worry. What was going on? This was not the situation he had anticipated upon his return. He stood on the ship's deck, looking out into the distance with concern in his eyes.

Another round of explosions rang out, much more powerful this time. The amount of smoke in the sky doubled, and the sound became much louder. His hands gripped the railings hard, full of worry. Were they fighting? Who?

"Let's figure out what's going on," a soft voice said, wrapping an arm around his waist. The next thing Davy knew, he floated in the air as Lyle flew in the direction of the commotion. His heartbeats became faster with each passing second, and he was curious as to what was going on.

Lyle flew quickly, perhaps as concerned as Davy. Flashes flashed through his vision, and he realized that the source of these explosions was only coming from one direction. The other he was fighting didn't even fight back.

Davy sucked in his breath as something seemed to get stuck in his throat. As he witnessed this scene, his hand gripped Lyle's arm. Lyle stopped, as they floated in midair. Their location was enough for Davy to have a good view of what was happening. Lyle's arm around his waist tightened as well, but he did nothing and just floated them in the distance.

Under their gaze, Draven then raised his sword again, this time with a lot of red energy surrounding it. He ran and attacked Fallan again. His actions did not appear to be joking either; they were ferocious and contained a hint of anger. His face was devoid of his carefree grin, and Davy couldn't even recognize him at this point. Draven was clearly enraged, and he yelled at Fallan, almost crying.

However, Fallan only looked at him calmly, making the other even angrier and swinging and thrusting his swords at him. Strangely, Fallan appeared to have a barrier around him, as the energy from Draven's swords only hit his sides, causing an explosion, his action quick and almost effortlessly dodging Draven's attack.

"Wh-why are they fighting? Can you... stop them?" he grabbed Lyle's arm, turned around, and looked at him. Lyle also seriously watched the two fight against each other. Lyle returned his gaze as soon as he finished speaking. Emerald's eyes also appeared worried, but he wasn't that concerned and didn't have any intention to stop the two.

Lyle shook his head, "Let them... let him. Draven needed it. Their fight wasn't serious.." Then he smiled softly, embracing Davy, "Do you think if two Supremes fought for real, the whole realm wouldn't know about it? So, don't worry too much, he would soon calm down." Lyle then turned his gaze to the two.

Davy's brows knitted, confused. He quickly returned his gaze to the two, yes... Draven appeared to be the only one fighting, and his attacks appeared clumsy, with no intention of truly fighting Fallan. Nonetheless, the anger on his face was palpable.

He frowned and stared at Draven, venting his rage as a slight pang of pain pricked his heart. While Davy claimed that Draven was annoying him or treating him unfairly, this was simply them making fun of each other. He never truly hated him.

Davy wasn't used to seeing Draven like this, with his usual expression gone... and he won't ever. Why was he furious? What triggered him to be this way? Even attacking Fallan whom Davy knew Draven wouldn't even dare to talk back with except he went crazy.

"Why aren't you fighting back? Do you think I'm weak? Fuck! Fight me!" Draven yelled, the air carrying it clearly into Davy's ears and even the deep emotions within. Fallan though didn't respond, only dodging his attacks.

Draven came to a halt, gripping the sword tightly and glaring at Fallan. "Why are you making decisions? No one even asked me! If I want it too, why? Just fucking why... tell me, was my opinion really not that important?" he shouted, almost roaring his words, but the pain could be felt within.

Davy noticed a change in Fallan's expression for the first time. His shoulders sagged, almost as if he was exhausted. He took a deep breath and stated calmly, "You know, it wasn't like that, but... we can't wait for your decision any longer." Davy was always aware of Fallan's ability to suppress his true emotions as if, if he broke down, everything would also break down.

"Is that necessary? Is that our only choice?" Draven's tone was much calmer now, however, he even sounded lost. Davy couldn't decide whether his earlier anger outburst or the calmer one hurt him more.

Davy stood there watching them and listening to their conversation, having no idea what they were talking about. Fallan raised his head, his blue eyes meeting Davy's. Davy pressed his lips together, somehow, this confirmed that he was involved. Why? He couldn't understand.

While staring at Davy, he replied to Draven, "It's our last chance," his deep voice sounded so low, almost inaudible to Davy's ears.

Then he turned to face the downcast Draven and said calmly, "They are also preparing, so make up your mind quickly," as he said that, he glanced in their direction again before nodding and disappearing from his sight. Davy even noticed how his calm demeanor faded before he sighed heavily.

Davy frowned, his mind unable to comprehend what was going on. Why are they all acting like that? Would something go to happen? The climax of the plot? He fixed his gaze on Draven, who was now standing motionless.

"Do you want to go inside now?" Lyle's soft voice reached his ear, slightly caressing his hair.

"Draven?" he asked, his gaze never leaving Draven's depressed figure. He was just standing there, clutching his sword.

Lyle sighed and fell silent. "He needs to be alone... for the time being."

"Do you know why they fought?" he asked, his lips pursed. Why he had the foreboding feeling about this? Was his time going to come soon? Would his reality finally gonna knock at his door? Davy... was not yet ready.

"Hm, Draven... is only afraid that's all. He didn't like our decision that much," Lyle spoke, more carefully this time.

"Decision?" Davy glanced at him. Confusion filled his eyes.

"No, it's not a decision. A choice, the only choice."

Choice. Davy fell silent again and returned his gaze to Draven. Didn't he want to be forced to make a decision as well?

"What choice?" he asked, although somehow he knew he wouldn't get an answer. That proved correct when Lyle didn't answer immediately, his arm around Davy only tightened.

"Is it difficult to answer?" he inquired.

"You'll know soon enough," Lyle replied, his gaze averted, clearly concealing something.

Davy bit his lower lips as he clasped his hand. He stopped pursuing and instead asked, "Can I... be with him for now?"

Lyle returned his gaze to him, smiling softly before nodding.
