Kapitel 208: All The King's Men.

I jumped down the massive shaft carved out in the remote Antarctic shelf, and took the shuttle to the chest of the baby Celestial, somewhere below Brazil.

Walking on it's chest I could feel the light heaving, pulses of energy rushing out beneath my feet keeping him alive.

Not for long.

I snapped my finger, coming up on the heart of his being, where his power was the strongest and a portal opened up above him.

A syringe needle the size of Empire State building emerged from within and crashed into his chest, digging through it as a howl of pain echoed across the chamber, rumbling North Atlantic, shaking up the world itself, and the forcefields keeping up this cavern around his body were the only thing that stopped me from being buried under a continent worth of rubble and having to dig my way out.

It was a jumbo sized version of my power extractor, the Exorcist, custom made for taking away the power of Celestials.

He began to thrash around a bit, trying to move his atrophied baby limbs to squash me to no avail. I had tied him down with the forcefields already.

Now that I think about it, looking at the forcefields here, I think my forcefields are already at the level of magic like the bounded fields of the Fate franchise. I mean they can hide stuff behind illusions, invisibility, they can contain energy, thoughts, souls even. They can hold someone in place, move with me, darken, brighten adjust their color and have a ton of stackable effects.

They can harden in response to adverse atmospheric conditions, block teleporation and magic, undo reality warping and matter manipulation.

They can even create extended spaces within than without like those tents from Harry Potter.

At this point they are almost magic except they are entirely scientific and based on higher math.

I smiled mischievously as a thought occured.

Maybe I should go and troll some magical worlds, maybe even fuck with Zelretch.

Oh boy, I'd love to see his face when he comes back and sees all his furniture shifted to the left by an inch.

It'd give him an aneurysm!

Actually, you know what, I'll do it as soon as I become a Traveler. Or a god. I'll see.

Just then the thrashing stopped and I returned my attention to the syringe.

The sensors on my ship told me that it had been almost fully drained now, in just under a minute, and a quick scan of the body of Tiamat, the baby Celestial led to the same conclusion. He had been hollowed out, leaving behind only his hardened skin, and even that because I didn't want to collapse the south american plate and drown like a quarter of the world population while condemning the rest to die of thirst.

Because that's what would happen if the whole Celestial disappeared. And it's a waste of life.

I can consume them later to fuel my power if need be so why kill them now?

Once I get a power to consume souls....

I think I have like three of my clones working on exactly that right now.

I can't wait to absorb them all back into me.

All the powers in the Omniverse. Mine.

Of course it wasn't going to happen anytime soon. It will be decades before they all pay out. If all goes well that is. Just that when they do, I'll instantly rise to far above the level of an elder god, a higher being just from subsuming them.

"Well..." I kicked the chest of the baby celestial a bit and soaked in the echo of the hollow insides, "Time to go and get that herb."

I jumped into a portal and emerged in the antechamber of the greenhouses of the Wakandan Royal Palace.

"Wha-who? Who are you? Stop rig-" The guards objected only to have their brains melted right off as my lasers blew them off.

Kneeling down I began to pick up out all the herbs I could get my hands on, and activated my new Sentry powers.

With a crackling sonic boom I disappeared as the soil in the massive greenhouse blew up like old faithful.

Almost instantly I appeared back at my previous position, a bundle of purple heart herbs the size of a barn in my hands, raised above me.

The ground shattering beneath my feet as the royal palace began to collapse from my movements, and I disappeared into a portal, dumping the herbs in the hands of my farming droids with a generous helping soil samples from the Wakandan greenhouse.

Next stop, the moon!

A portal opened below me, and I began to glow with a burning power, disappearing in a flash of light.

Many new powers were so goddamn fun!

.

Maximus walked into the royal court expecting some more work to be dumped on him by his wretched mute of a brother. That was what happened. That or him being blamed for some thing or the other. It was always subtle of course. He was still a royal. But nonetheless, it happened.

And it infuriated him. That the kinslayer, the murderer of his parents, the incompetent king now sat on the throne.

My throne. Mine.

He thought with bubbling rage as he stomped into the court room.

But where he expected the usual backhanded remarks and petty complaint, he found silence.

Well, silence was nothing novel. His mute brother, the king had been silent for years now but this silence was odder somehow. Probably because of the muffled gasps of pain coming from everyone in the throne room.

They were....he didn't know how to describe the sight.

Wedgied. That's what the earthlings called it.

Caught with their underpants slung up on their heads, groaning in pain. Even Lockjaw. The dog. The royal pet. And he didn't even wear underpants!

Someone had infiltrated the palace and done this, sure. And he knew he should be worried. But...this moment was just too precious to let go.

He would be lying if he said he didn't find it amusing. That was for certain.

He enjoyed it. For all of 5 seconds before Crystal burned her bindings and freed the others.

Maximus sighed, and stepped in, intending to help. He needed to keep up appearances for now. His rebellion wasn't ready. Not yet. But when the time ca-

Suddenly a jolt of pain racked his body and a blinding light flashed past him as Maximus fell to his knees, clawing at his head in desperation.

He had been wedgied!

Somehow, he in the struggle amidst the clawing he managed to slip it off, and a sense of relief washed over him before the rage returned.

Humiliate the royal family? Fine.

But humiliate me?!

He growled, scanning the room like a wild beast.

He would find this creature. This light. And he would wreak hell upon it!

No one humiliates Maximus!

Just then a soldier ran in, his nose broken his hands bloodied, and collapsed by the wall, muttering something.

What?

Maximus moved closer to the man, and knelt down beside him, cupping his face.

This man.. he knew him. He was one of his own. One of his rebellion members.

"What happened? Quick. Tell me!" Maximus insisted, slapping the delirious man to attention for the briefest of moments.

"The terrigen....the terrigen crystals....all gone. Stolen. Light man." He croaked. It was all he managed to say. But his eyes betrayed the last two words he failed to add.

Save me.

Maximus looked the man over and sighed.

There was no saving him now. He saw the wound in the soldier's side. He had bled too much.

And yet he had rushed over to deliver him a message. Such loyalty...he would be rewarded. His kin would live in luxury. Maximus would ensure that. But for now, there were bigger concerns. Especially with the terrigen crystals being stolen.

As he checked the security footage on his command module, seeing the blood lining the barracks and the vaults, the Kree technology that sustained them ripped out from the city....a chill ran down his spine further entrenching in him a desperate urgency.

A monster had descended upon them.

This was...a disaster. No. Calling it a disaster would be underplaying it. This was something bigger. This was the apocalypse. The doom of Attilan.

.

All in a day's work! Or actually, 3 minutes work.

And I wasn't even going fast.

The Inhumans moon base was surprisingly small.

Very easy to rob blind. I even took their life sustaining systems. In about an hour Attilan should be uninhabitable.

They call it a kingdom?

What a joke. It's barely a village. 1400 residents. A rigid caste system. If they die, they deserve it.

Though I doubt they will. They have a teleporting dog after all. They will just migrate to Earth.

Placing the terrigen crystals down, I took out a sample of Jiaying's DNA I had my nano swarm steal, and dissolved it into a gene editing shot, enchanted with a Boost and Upgrade enchantment, injecting it into me.

Jiaying was an Inhuman who had the ability of life force absorption and regeneration. This allowed her to regenerate eternally by literally eating people's life force. But somewhere deeper, I knew it held a greater power.

The power of devouring and absorption. The one I sought. The one that would allow me to absorb the essence of the Celestial Tiamut. Because if I took in the essence, that much power would blow me to hell and back.

And sure, I would recover but at what cost. The power of a celestial, wasted.

Which is why I first sought this.

Terrigenesis. The power granting ritual of the Inhumans.

I looked at the bounty of terrigen crystals lying on the floor of the warehouse with the droids beginning to neatly organise them, and picked done up.

Cracking the capsule that stored the crystal, I took in a big breath, inhaling all of the terrigen crystal dust. The terrigen mist.

Then, I dropped the capsule to the ground, crushed into a ball and sat down beside it. Waiting.

Suddenly, my body began to squirm as if worms were crawling beneath my skin, my lungs seemed to be filled with freezing cold tar and I felt an intense urge to vomit.

Alright. So it's working. I thought, opening a portal beneath me, dropping into a life preserving tank and tendrils of pitch black shot out from my mouth, splitting like a spiderweb, silken and dark, such that it seemed to swallow light itself, and appeared to not exist at all.

As I continued to vomit out more and more silk, a cocoon forming around me.

Then, I felt a deep, primal urge to sleep and the darkness took me.

Kapitel 209: Unlimited Power!

I woke up as if from a deep sleep, muscles twitching with excitement and adrenaline coursing through my veins.

I couldn't wait to move, run, rush out of here. Just do anything.

Reaching out I touched the boundary, the sort silken threads parting like buttery, cooked noodles as my fingers cleaved through them with ease.

A soft squelch sounded out like someone sloppily eating chilli in the dark as I tore out more and more of the cocoon covering me until I reached the hard, outer shell, stony in complexion, tough as clay.

It felt taut, bulging to my touch, like a balloon made of stone.

Running my hands across the inner surface I rapped my finger on the shell, and found a thin spot.

There we go.

I reared back my hands, as much as I could, squeezed in a tight cocoon like this, and rammed them into the shell, like chisels to marble.

The shell cracked, amd the cocoon hissed like pressure cooker, whistling away, gas flitting out of it.

I pushed my hands out, grabbing the shell with clawed fists and pulled it apart.

With a crackle and crunch the shell broke, and I crawled out from the crumbling wreck, all goey and dusty, some thread still sticking to me.

"Computer..." I yawned, cracking my knucles as I stretched, " Instant Sterilization."

A yellow-green beam of light shot out from a portal, and instantly I felt cleaner.

Another replicator beam later, I was clothed and armed back.

"Scan me. Note any anomalies. And get me a mirror." I ordered a droid.

"Yes sir. Right away."

While the droid worked it's magic, I pondered on the next steps to take.

Now that I have this power, I need to deal with Bast and the herbs, and the celestial power first before I evolve myself to the next level.

But after that.....I have plans. Plans I have left hanging, gathering dust on the shelf for a long while now.

I grinned with excitement.

This might just be more fun than I imagined.

"No anomalies detected sir." The medical droid reported, while another placed a mirror before me.

Looking at myself, I found quite a few changes in my appearance. Nothing significant, sure. But it was subtly different.

For one, my skin tone got noticably lighter. Where earlier I had bronze skin, like a greek god or a buff bodybuilder, now it was more George Clooney than Arnold Schwarzenegger.

My looks got better too. Sharper, piercing eyes, slightly better jawline and coiled taut musculature. My muscles had shrunk from the transformation but I could feel even more power in them now. Only slightly more but still. I think I even had better control of them now.

And finally there was that. A slight itch in my stomach.

My new power.

Devouring.

Reaching into it, I could feel a deep, primordial hunger bubble up within me, an urge to consume. Consume it all. Like a black hole sucking away at everything else, all thoughts, all emotions and desires other than gluttony. It even overpowered my greed, my most prominent driving desire.

But will it hold to the test?

I snapped my fingers and a portal opened up, dropping me outside into space, and with a thought a forcefield popped up around me, a quarter the size of the moon, creating an artificial atmosphere inside.

Time to find out.

Pulling out a handful of purple heart herbs, I summoned the Soul Stone to my hand, gripped tight, and popped them into my mouth and swallowed them whole.

Hmm....crunchy, earthy and just a pinch tart.

Delicious!

And the divine energy inside it, even more so.

Suddenly the world disappeared, and I found myself standing in an open glen, glades of savannah grass as far as the eyes could see, an twilight sky hanging up above high, stars shimmering ever so shy.

What's with all these gods and evening skies, sheesh! This is like the third god I've seen that keep the twilight sky aesthetic as their background. Why can't some of them be a nice and sunny spring day by the river, flowers in full bloom, trees laden richly with fruit, a beautiful bird song playing in the background....

No. They all have to follow that same emo kid trend.

Oooh, look at me, I'm so dark and shady~

Isn't that cool my dudes? Isn't that like super cool?

I scoffed.

"You dare make a mockery of my domain, planeswalker?" A voice boomed from behind me.

"Oh I dare to do more than that kitten." I smirked.

"You are an arrogant one. Perhaps you need to be shown your pla-"

A halo of orange light burst from within me, turning into flames that ravaged through Bast's domain in a instant, sending her tumbling back like a barrel down a hill.

"You! First you steal my gift to my children and now this?!

How dare defile my lands with an infinity stone?!" She roared, charging me, her claws and teeth glowing the same harrowing purple as her starry eyes.

"Oh it's quite simple little kitty cat. Like this!" I raised a palm at her, and an orange light of immense power burst from within, showering her like a hose to a wet cat, the energy taking the form of a massive spray bottle.

I quite like the irony in that.

She hissed and tried to dodge it to no avail, scalding herself in the process.

Jumping back, she glared at me with indignation as she healed up.

"Now are you ready to negotiate?" I asked, smiling evilly.

"I do not negotiate with insolent wretches like-"

I sprayed her again, burning her whiskers off.

"Bad kitty." I teased.

"Die!" She roared, swiping at me again, onky to be sprayed and scalded for the third time in a row.

"Tch tch tch!" I wagged my finger.

You don't seem to understand the position you are in, kitty. I dictate the terms and you say, yes master, nyaa~" I chuckled.

She narrowed her eyes and her pupils dilated before she disappeared.

Instantly, I clad myself in the Soul Stone's power and whirled around, grabbing her paws inches from decapitating me.

"How?!" She exclaimed, shocked.

"What a naughty kitten you are~" I pushed her back, not letting go of her paws, clutching them with an iron grip as she howled in pain.

Her toe beans were surprisingly soft.

And very squishy.

"And bad little kittens need to be punished."

With a sickening squelch and crack, I twisted her forearms, her fur wrinkling at the shoulders, breaking them.

"Rhyaaaargh!" She screamed, her throes of pain destabilizing the realm she ruled.

I walked over to her her prone form, lying on the ground, right up to her face.

"Now here's what's going to happen. You will let go of your divine power in that herb and let me consume it. And I will wake up, fine but enhanced. There will be no side effects. No secret curses. No hidden conditions. And in return, I won't brutally destroy you and your Ennead, right here, right now. Capische?" I said.

She looked up at me in fear and resignation, and boiling, seething hatred, before she relented.

"Yes."

"Ha?" I said, leaning in, ripping out a whisker, as she winced.

"Please don't make me say-"

I ripped out another whisker.

"Yes master, nyaa~" She said, her face twisted like she had just bit into shit.

"That's a good kitty." I stroked her head and she let out silent tears, solling down her cheeks.

Inside me, I felt something detach as her hold on the divine power slipped and my power consumed it, integrating it into me.

Hmm...so I can consume divine power too, eh?

I smiled evilly.

Ferb, I think I know what we're going to do today.

I chuckled.

"Will you let me go now, master, nyaa~" She asked, amidst choked sobs.

I looked her in the eyes and stroked her head one last time.

"No." I grinned, opening my mouth wide as a massive suction force appeared inside it, sucking away her divinity whole.

"No! No! Noooo! You promised! You made a pact!" She cried, pleading for her life.

"Oh I made a deal alright. I promised to not 'brutally' destroy you. And I'm not. This is a quick and easy death. A mercy." I replied, as the last of her divinity entered my stomach, and my power began to digest it.

Delicious!

Like honeyed nectar! Hot chocolate and garlic bread and all things delicious rolled into one. It was like the richest, thickest soup I had ever tasted. And it was addictive as all hell.

I licked my lips.

I want more!

More!

And I knew just where to find some.

With a snap, I returned to the mortal realm, entering one of my microverses for safety.

Opening up a portal above me, a giant needle the size of the Empire State building emerged right within my reach.

I unhinged my jaw and opened wide, my devouring power awakened once more as a black hole appeared inside my mouth.

In the ship, I flipped the switch on the Exorcist and the needle began to let out the celestial essence stored inside it, straight into my mouth. Greedily ,I swallowed it, one and all, every last drop of it, falling into an almost trance like state.

It tasted faintly like my mother's risotto. Warm, loving, delicious. Tasted like....home.

And with every drop I consumed I could feel myself grow, not just in power but in stature too. My body cracked and reformed, over and over and over again, growing each time as the hours passed in the shadow of the dark side of the moon.

Then, as if no time had passed I awoke with a jolt, conciousness returning to me like a coursing river in monsoon, washing over me, and washing me away with a newfound clarity, the like of which I had never experienced before.

My senses though only grew and I could see, feel, sense everything. Colours I had never seen before, spectrums of light unseen and sounds of stars unheard. The puddle of dark matter soaking the universe, the thick gravity of black holes like clay to my hands. Suns like large candies, ready to be devoured. I saw the moon looming over me and almost didn't recognise it given it's new relative size to me. Where before it was a planeetoid, now the moon looked like one of those hamster balls to me, like I was a child looking at an adult sized hamster ball.

Looking down at my hands, I found not skin but a thick, nigh impenetrable membrane, armor like and pulsing yellow gold. And as sensation returned to my body, I could feel a new level of power far beyond any I had felt before. Like I could shape the world with a casual swipe of my hands, like the universe was one big playground, all just for me.

Is this what it feels like to be a celestial?

Though now I was a Celestial-God hybrid. Not quite as powerful as either individually but stronger than both combined.

And as a plus, I had access to minor reality warping now!

Yup. I like this new power. I like it a lot.

But there's still one more thing left to do.

And I can't do that in this form. I need something more... manageable.

Concentrating on my power, I shrunk myself, back to my human form and returned to my workshop.

Lying on my desk, just as it was when I left it. A vial of pitch black tar. The Asgardian Ichor.

Picking it up, I downed it in one go, and felt a small shiver run through my body as my powers twisted and turned, evolving instantly into something greater and I could feel something else. Something new inside me.

Reaching out to it, I pulled it out of me and suddenly the world went still.

And I realised what it was.

My godly domain.

The realm of time and space!

The godly domain of Quantum Possibility!

A power comparable to the second magic of the Fate franchise.

And in an instant, I knew instinctively, feeling all the other possibilities of me collapse and reform around me, remade in my image.

There were no more variants of me out there. No alternative versions. No dark reflections. No timelines where I eat poop. Nothing.

I was it now.

The one and only, true Jay Walker!

Well in this multiversal cluster anyways.

Great power up regardless.

Mentally running some calculations, I could now proudly say that I was stronger than the entities of Worm. Far stronger than Scion.

If Scion was a child, I was a woolly mammoth.

If he was a construction worker, I was Mount Rushmore.

Not invulnerable but, pretty confident in my chances of one shotting almost any regular entity.

If I went back in time to Worm now, I could flick Scion to death.

Hehehehhahahaha!

Yes! Finally!

Ultimate power!

And it's all mine. Internal. Meaning it will work in all worlds so long as the laws of physics aren't too screwed up.

Now, time for my final project in this world. One last thing to do, to build before I leave this world.

But before that, I had a student to test.

And to tease about her date.

I smiled and disappeared, back to Earth to pester Wanda once more.

I can't be blamed. Her reactions are just so cute, I can't help myself!
