Kapitel 4: Chapter 4 - Broken promise

Yana kept running, praying she would wake up soon. Suddenly, someone grabbed her and hid her behind him, bravely facing the man chasing her.

The man chasing her stopped. The newcomer waved his hand, and a blinding red light appeared in front of them.

"Go back to your world." the man said softly but authoritatively.

He pushed Yana toward the dazzling red light. She felt like she was falling into nothingness as he pushed her. She felt dizzy from the fall, but suddenly, she woke up.

She quickly sat up and looked around, recognizing her room. She was immensely grateful she had woken up and was safe again. Another man from world of dreams had saved her.

Yana was increasingly mystified by these events. She felt as though her dream was another world, and when she woke up, she returned to the real world.

When she got to school, her friends were worried about her. She assured them she was fine but didn't share the full details of her dream. While the teacher discussed the lesson, she recalled the events of her dream.

"Qrolo... his name is Qrolo." Yana whispered to herself.

"Yana, don't come closer. Run away. Run fast and avoid him until you wake up. Avoid him as much as possible." she heard Qrolo's words again in her mind, memorizing his voice. She wondered how he knew her name, certain she hadn't told him.

Yana was confused, more so than ever. She used to only worry about the man killing people in her dream. Now, she also had to think about the people she met in her dreams who saved her.

Lost in thought, Yana didn't realize the teacher had called on her to recite. She only noticed when she felt a piece of chalk hit her forehead, thrown forcefully by the teacher.

This snapped Yana back to reality from her deep thoughts.

Among all her friends, Yana trusted Lexa the most. She confided everything to her.

"Your dreams are getting more mysterious, Yana, but the important thing is that there are people saving you in them." Lexa said.

"You're right, but I can't understand any of it. It's too complicated. But I'm also grateful the man who kills in my dreams hasn't appeared to you. That's something I'm thankful for. I can handle this, but I hope you all won't get involved." Yana replied.

"But I'm really worried about you." Lexa said sadly.

When Yana got home, her parents and sibling were in the living room, engrossed in watching the news. They barely noticed her.

Yana was shocked to see on the news that over a hundred cases of unexplained deaths were reported.

These people never woke up from their sleep, their bodies covered in wounds and blood. The autopsy revealed that they all died from similar injuries, as if something had stabbed their bodies. The cases were reported from different parts of the country.

Yana trembled with fear, knowing these people were the ones in her dream who were impaled on spikes and stabbed by the man who kills in her dream.

Her parents were extremely worried and scared. Yana, however, kept her dreams a secret, not revealing the danger that threatened her.

Yana was now not only afraid for herself but also for her family and friends. She wondered if they too might fall victim to the creature that kills in her dreams.

Restless after watching the news, Yana paced around her room, thinking of ways to solve this huge problem.

Suddenly, she thought of Qrolo and his abilities. She realized he might be the one to help them.

She needed to meet him in real life, not just in her dreams, to discuss and plan solutions.

Despite her fear, Yana forced herself to sleep, hoping to talk to Qrolo and see if he survived and could help again.

Yana dreamt again, finding herself in a capital city, but it was deserted. She saw many shops but no people. She sat on a waiting shed bench, observing her surroundings. The sun was blazing, but she felt no danger approaching. She hoped this was a peaceful dream and that she would see Qrolo.

"Are you waiting for me?" she heard a voice from behind.

She stood up from the bench and turned around. She was right; it was Qrolo. Yana felt a strange joy. She was happy he was safe.

"Qrolo... you're safe." Yana said happily.

"Of course, I'm not going anywhere. I still have duties." Qrolo replied.

"You called my name. How did you know it?" Yana asked.

"You wore your uniform yesterday. It had a name tag on the left side." Qrolo explained.

Yana realized that was true; her uniform had a small name tag. That was what she wore in her dream yesterday.

Yana then told Qrolo her intention to meet him in real life to discuss how they could solve the problem, given that many people were dying.

"Qrolo, I was hoping to see you. Please come. I'm worried about the increasing number of deaths, and I don't want my family to be next." Yana pleaded.

Qrolo didn't respond, just stared into Yana's eyes. But before he could speak, Yana took his hand and made a pinky swear with his little finger.

"Now it's a promise, so you have to come." Yana said with a smile.

Qrolo smiled back. They agreed to meet at a well-known amusement park the next day, a Saturday, at exactly 2 PM.

It was indeed a peaceful dream, with no appearance from the man who kills in her dreams. Yana was delighted when Qrolo took her to various places she wanted to visit, even if it was just in a dream.

The next day, Yana went to the amusement park where they were supposed to meet. She had many questions and ideas for solutions with the help of Qrolo's ability to control dreams.

She needed to meet him to discuss things thoroughly.

But hours passed, and Qrolo didn't show up. Yana kept checking her watch. He was already three hours late, but she stayed, sitting on a bench.

Night fell, and it was already seven in the evening. Yana stood up from the bench, feeling dejected and disheartened. She was angry and disappointed with Qrolo, feeling he was just playing with her.

They had promised each other to meet, but Qrolo didn't show up.

She walked away, her steps heavy. Before she knew it, she was crying and quickly wiped her tears away with her hands.

She couldn't understand what those tears meant.
