Grandma Kara's eyes showed sadness but still kept smiling so I immediately changed the topic.

"Can you tell me more about your son, ma'am?"

"I can but you need to drop with the formalities. You can call me grandma Kara or whatever you like."

"Okay, Granny Kara."

"Why are you so excited all of a sudden, child?"

"Well, I wanted to know what my senior is like."

"Hahaha, you see ever since we moved here, he wanted to try something new so he went to look for a job and you know what his first job is?"

"Let me guess, a carpenter?"

"You guessed right! But you know what's more funny? It was his first day as a carpenter and was tasked to build a house and you know what he built? He built a freaking mansion hahaha!"

I just laughed with her.
