Kapitel 7: Chapter 7: Souvenir Time
After Aliyah and the older lady were done talking, Aliyah told me to follow her. In which, I did. I'm worried though. What if she's taking me into custody? Ah, wait. No. That isn't possible.
Maybe she found a missing person file that fit my physical description? I jest not to get my hopes up about meeting my parents in this world of they're alive. More so, if I do see them, I'm going to kick my father in his balls!
I mean if they do exist, that means that they left me! Or I just wondered off. But why would I have nothing on my person after that? I mean I awoke...uh, let's not talk about it too much. It's embarrassing.
As I was done with my internal questioning we walked to a bigger door. It looked like some sort of entrance, or in this case, an exit. She opened the door and the rays of the sun had blinded me for a few seconds. As I walked outside, I noticed the bustling streets that had shops of all sorts! Food stalls, weapon shops, armour shops, blacksmiths!
The perfect market of another world! Now all we need is the red haired girl, her magic tutor, and their silver haired cat woman bodyguard...Ah! I fell after bumped into a man and he looked at me with eyes of disgust. "God damn beastmen..." He muttered words as he walked and cursed at me quietly. He probably would've done something worse if Ms. Aliyah wasn't here with me.
After all, she is a knight. Trying to start a fight especially with a child near a knight, is one hell of a way to find yourself behind bars.
And that man didn't have to cuss at me as he left. Eh, racists will be racists. Anyways. Aliyah helped me me get up...more like she picked me up. Again, I got up and we then started to walk towards the main marketplace that I saw.
It was just how I thought it would be! There were shops like I said that sold weapons and armour. There were also clothing shops.
The clothing shops had decent dresses and casual wear all lined on the racks of wood and hung on the walls with clothes hangers. Although none of the clothes looked like they would fit me. Dammit! Why do I have to be so short? I was 187 cm before I died! Now I'm barely over 85 cm. Aliyah saw that I had stopped and asked, "Is everything okay?" I responded with, "...yeah. I'm fine."
We walked past the clothing shops and entered the main stall area. There were people everywhere. Not to mention the smell of the food from the stalls nearby.
'This is such a typical other world market. I LOVE THIS!' I yelled in my mind. Aliyah could see my excitement and proposed this, "Since this is your first time here, and I don't have to go to that address immediately, would you like to look around the city with me as your escort?"
"Is that okay? I mean we have to go somewhere, right?" I replied. Aliyah nodded. "Okay! Let's look around, then!" I happily walked around the stalls in the area. I found a good looking dagger in one of the weapon stalls.
'Hey Gem? Can you please tell me how to use the inspect skill again?' I said to Gem in my mind. [Look at a person or item and think about wanting to know what it does or a certain stat from it.] 'Thank you!' I said back.
"Ooh. Hey mister. That dagger looks very good!" I said to the man running the stall. He looked down at me and said, "Well, well. You have a pretty good eye if you can see what this thing can do!" I used inspect on the dagger and it had some weird skill on it.
'Hey Gem? What is the skill {Mana Corruption}?' I said to Gem. [The skill known as {Mana Corruption} is a skill where the user can absorb some of the mana of the enemy it stabs or kills. It also allows you to inject your own mana into the blade, giving the enemy the effect of {Mana Poisoning}. That is all.]
Oh? That sounds very useful! I looked over at the stall owner and said, "Uhm, how much is the dagger?" He looked back at me and said, "Well seeing how I made it and it took me a while to create, it would be about 8 gold coins. But for you little miss, I'll move it down to 6 gold coins!"
I have the money for it! I think it would be a good purchase! I pretended to take money out of my robe's pocket when in reality, I took it out from my inventory. "Here is 6 gold! May I purchase the dagger?" The owner then proceeded to take the dagger from the display and put it in it's small sheath or whatever it's called. "Here you go! Thank you for your patronage!" He said this happily as he took the gold I laid on the table.
Aliyah turned to me and said, "Are you sure you know how to handle a weapon? You're too young in my opinion..." I put the knife on my waist and fastened it to where my wand originally was.
Now I have a hidden weapon for when I need it. I will now head over to a clothing store to see if they can help with my...uh...'under my robe' clothing situation. The store I chose wasn't a fancy one but it was within the range of my budget.
I know I would need a pair of...uh...women's 'things'. And I had a little sister so I know about all of this since I had to take her shopping when I was in my early 20's. She loved shopping with me even if she had to get something embarrassing such as undergarments. I miss those easy and fun times.
I found a pair of black pants, some 'undergarments', and a white short sleeved shirt. I tried them on in the changing room and they fit perfectly.
"Now that I can see myself in a proper mirror, I really am tiny. Haha." I said unenthusiastically. I went to the counter and paid for the clothing. Surprisingly it was only 3 silver coins so I handed a gold coin to the lady at the counter and got 7 silver coins back in return.
The money system works like this; 10 Copper coins=1 silver coin. 10 Silver coins= 1 gold coin. And 100 gold coins=1 royal gold coin. Royal gold coins are not very commonly used since of the high value. Instead they're usually traded in for lesser coins at a bank. I had taken off my robe and put it in my inventory since it was decently hot outside. And now, I can walk around without the feeling of the wind touching me in weird places! I love pants.
I walked back outside to where Aliyah was. She stayed outside of the store to keep an eye out for any pick pockets or other small crimes that are committed during daylight hours. Aliyah saw me and picked me up out of pure instinct and said, "Ohh! You look so damn cuuuute!!!" She then noticed that she instinctively picked me up and turned red from embarrassment.
She then put me back down. Oh yeah. The knife I bought is now on my left hip so I can draw it when I need to. Aliyah then said, "Oh crap! It's gotten late enough. Sorry Pearl, we have to get going to the address of the man who sent out the application."
It's sad I don't have more time but I can always go back here sooner or later. So me and Aliyah went to the address and knocked on the door. A drunk fox beastman answered. "Huh?" he said as he saw Aliyah and me.

Magueye The reference in the second paragraph is for Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation. I did it because around episode 10, the main character took the red haired lady with her cat woman bodyguard on a vacation day to walk around the town. (I am not using their names just to be safe lol).
