Maya was still hard at work when Martin started moving around in the kitchen to make dinner. She was so in the zone that she hardly noticed him coming and going. Until she smelled the food, that is.

She sighed. There would be no coming back from that. Despite her ongoing snacking as she drew, she was starving. Maybe the island wasn't the best place in the house to work after all.

Vincent came up for dinner looking much less polished than he had at lunch. His light green polo shirt was stained with something that looked like either grease or oil, he was a bit sweaty so his glasses were sliding down his nose, and his usually perfect hair was a mess. Even washing his hands for over a minute couldn't quite get all of the stains off.

Maya stifled a laugh. So this was the true appearance of her husband. A robotics expert at work.
