Marco
The wind slowly breezed whilst I sat still on the wooden park bench, with my dog on my lap. I slowly pet him as I watched the ducks peacefully flow through the pond as people tossed them bread. I felt a buzz in my pocket. I reached for my pocket and pulled out my phone.

Sup dude, how you doing?

I tucked my phone back into my pocket without even deciding to respond to her and adjusted my glasses that were slowly slipping off my face. Ashley is a good friend... Classmate rather. Even though we were in a single group project, she would never stop pestering me. Another buzz in my pocket. I ignored it and kept staring into the pond. Another buzz. I ignored it once more.
My dog, named Hestor, jumped awake on my lap.
"Heh, you wanna go home bud?" I chuckled. Hestor barked and hopped onto the ground. I stood up and walked with him. As I walked out of the park's exit, random people pushed their way in. "Watch it dude," a random guy yipped.
I flipped him off.
As I strolled down the sidewalk with Hestor, I thought about that guy. So inconsiderate... couldn't he see that I have a dog? What the hell is wrong with people now a days?
I kept on walking on the cracked sidewalk while Hestor breathed heavily beside me. "Aw, you already tired bud? Here. C'mon," I said softly as I picked him up. "You sure are out of shape, huh Hestor," I chuckled. I walked the sidewalk with Hestor in my arms. As I passed all of the buildings, a smell wafted by me. It was gorgeous. "Ah, the café, do you mind if I go in Hestor?" I grinned. Hestor barked excitedly. Once I opened the door to the bakery, a delightful smell slowly wafted towards me, it was so cozy. The café is usually the place where I "chill".
As I stepped into the line to take my order, my phone buzzed again.

Okay dude, answer me.

But before I could finish skimming the text, Hestor squirmed a bit in between my arms. I looked up from my phone. I was up.
"Hey Marco, what can I get for you today!" Anne, the person at the cashier exclaimed happily as she gave a little wave to Hestor. I smiled at her. I loved hearing Anne's voice, just hearing her speak could make a person fall asleep.
"I'll just take a Maple Muffin."
"Classic Marco, anything for little ol' Hestor?" Anne asked. I shook me head whilst I pat Hestor's.
"Okay, that's gonna be one dollar and twenty cents,"
I reached in my pocket and fumbled around and pulled out a 5 dollar bill. Anne snatched it out of my hands and smirked at me.
"Y'know, for a person with such a soothing voice, you sure can be aggressive," I snarked. She grinned at me as she handed
me the bag with the muffin and gave me change in her other. I cradled Hestor in one arm while I grabbed the muffin with my other hand. "Have a good one Marco!" Anne smiled. I smiled back and exited the gorgeous heaven.
As soon as I step foot out of the quaint café, Hestor whimpered. I gently placed Hestor down onto the chipped concrete.
"Aw, you okay Hest—
Before I could finish comforting Hestor, I bumped into somebody, dropping my muffin in that process. "Oh, sorry there dude," a deep voice calmly said. I looked up and I made eye contact with two eyes the colour of the Atlantic Ocean.
"Oh, uh, it-it's nothing. I'm fine," I managed to stumble out of my mouth. I just couldn't stop focusing on his icy blue eyes. "Uh, you dropped something," the young man said as he handed me my muffin. I blinked. "Oh, yeah, thanks dude- er, man, uh... Thanks," I mumbled. He gave me a weird look and looked down at my shoes, I did the same. "Aw, who's this?" He cooed at Hestor. Hestor hopped up and about my legs and stopped at the stranger. "That's my dog... Hestor,"
He looked up at me, with the ocean in his eyes. "That's a nice name, suits him," he huffed as he stood up from his kneeling position. "Well, I gotta get going, my shift's gonna start soon," he said as he checked his phone.
"Oh! You work at the café? I was just there!" I exclaimed maybe a little too loud.
"Well, I could tell with the muffin, and start working there. Heard it's a pretty good place to start working. Homey, y'know?" He explained.
I nodded. "Well, it was nice meeting you, but I gotta go. See ya," he sighed tiredly. I waved at him as he silently walked into the café. It was quiet, everything around me. Even with the cars racing by, birds chirping, Hestor barking, and the people chattering. It was silent. All I was able to hear, was my heart thumping. There was no way in hell that I could fall in love, with a man, who has beautiful, icy blue eyes.
I hope you're enjoyed the first chapter! Another one is to come!
