Kapitel 42: Caught by The Police

Chapter 42

As Alex listened to this, he finally understood the other party's motive. Baka purposely made it appear that his bank card had delinquent payments and then created scenes twice at the bank. This way, Baka could attempt to have him blacklisted from the bank entirely.

"Sorry, but I have always paid on time every month," Alex responded confidently, not showing any signs of fear.

The staff member replied, "Oh, there might be a glitch in our system. However, for now, the system marks you as a customer with a bad payment history. It might take some time for the necessary adjustments to be made if what you say is true," he explained in a friendly manner, but his eyes sneered at Alex.

"But I don't have a bad history of payments. This must be a mistake," Alex explained calmly.

While Alex was trying to explain, someone approached him and asked, "Hey, what's going on?"

The female staff member responded with a slightly raised tone, "This person is listed as a blacklisted individual in the system, so he can't make any transactions. I advised him to wait for confirmation, but he blamed us, accusing us of making a mistake!" Her tone seemed unnecessarily loud, drawing attention to the situation.

Alex was taken aback by the woman's behavior. He hadn't blamed anyone, and he certainly didn't expect her to shout about it. It felt as if she wanted everyone in the bank to know about the situation, which led to mocking looks from the others around him.

Alex couldn't help but feel a little helpless when he saw the familiar mocking looks from the bank staff. Even though he had experienced this kind of gaze many times, he still wasn't fully accustomed to it.

Baka, who witnessed the staff's performance, looked at Alex unkindly and spoke in a reproachful tone, "Mr. Russell, I hope you don't tarnish our company's name. We have never acted rashly, and if there's an issue, we will rectify it promptly. It's not fair to accuse us without proper evidence. Moreover, you've caused trouble at the bank on multiple occasions, and it seems like you're deliberately stirring up problems."

Alex was taken aback once again. Baka's proud and smiling face had now transformed into an expression of serious anger. The use of the word "multiple occasions" was particularly damaging, making Alex feel unjustly accused.

With this, Alex could only shake his head as everyone continued to look at him. The situation was becoming increasingly tense. The security guard rushed over to Alex's side, obviously intending to keep him safe.

Feeling helpless, Alex took out his phone and made a call. He spoke a few words, "Uncle, please provide the files to the relevant individuals."

Baka, seeing what Alex was doing, sneered even more. "What's wrong, Mr. Russell? Do you think making a call will save you? Security guard, escort this person out immediately and make sure he's blacklisted in all our branches!"

With this, every security guard attempted to drag Alex out, but despite their efforts, they couldn't budge him an inch. Alex seemed as immovable as a boulder firmly rooted in the ground.

As time passed and their attempts failed, Baka became increasingly worried and enraged. He shouted at the group, "What's wrong with all of you? Why can't you move him at all?"

The frustrated group had given their best effort to move Alex, but it was as if an invisible force was preventing them from doing so. They couldn't understand how Alex could be so steadfast and unyielding.

Baka, witnessing this, could only curse in frustration, "Useless bastards!"

After a while, the sound of police sirens filled the air. Baka, upon hearing this, was initially confused, but soon became excited.

"Ah, great! Did someone see that we were having a hard time and call the police? Well done!" Baka praised mockingly.

He had initially wanted to get Alex blacklisted at the bank, but if Alex also obtained a criminal record with the police, it would be even better. Baka sneered at Alex, feeling triumphant.

Soon, the police arrived at the scene. Baka, eager to take advantage of the situation, approached the officers.

"Officers, thank you very much for coming! We have a problem here! Please take care of this." Baka said, leading the police towards Alex.

The police officers who saw Alex immediately frowned, feeling a sense of alertness toward him. One of the officers decided to ask,

"Are you Baka?"

Alex remained silent, but Baka excitedly interjected, "No, sir, he is Russell. If you're looking for someone in charge at this bank, you might be mistaken. I am the Baka you're looking for."

The police officer looked at both Alex and Baka, seemingly puzzled, and asked again, "Are you, Mr. Baka?"

Baka confidently responded, "Yes, that's me. Here's my ID card," as he took out his identification.

The police officer glanced at the ID card and suddenly seemed disinterested. "Alright, arrest him!"

"Ready!" the other officers replied in unison.

Baka smiled, satisfied with the order, but his satisfaction quickly turned to shock as three police officers promptly apprehended him in a coordinated manner.

Baka, who saw this, then roared in frustration. "Mr. Policeman, what the hell, you've got it all wrong. The one causing trouble is not me but this person!" Baka said while pointing at Alex's body.

The police officer responded by pointing at Baka. "No, you're the one we're after."

Confused, the officer then asked, "Is your name Baka?"

"Yes, sir, I am Baka, the manager of this bank!" Baka replied.

The police officer nodded and said, "Okay then, put him in the car!"

Seeing the police captain's hand pointing at him, Baka didn't know what to do. He protested and roared, trying to explain that he was not the one in the wrong. However, the police officers paid no attention to his protests.

Baka was then dragged away by the police. Despite his dishonesty and loud protests, the police officers remained unfazed.

The Baka who was dragged away then remembered that before Alex had called someone, he didn't care at first. However, after thinking about why the police arrested him right after that happened, he became convinced that everything was because of Alex.

"Russell! Is this what you're doing? Russell, quickly let me go, I don't want to go to jail! I promise I won't mess with you anymore!" Baka screamed incoherently, desperate to get out of the situation.

But even so, Alex didn't show any concern. Instead, he smiled warmly at Baka.

Baka felt his throat constrict with anger and frustration. He roared pitifully, "Damn you, Russell!"

With this, everyone was confused, even the security guards who thought they shouldn't be entangled with Alex didn't know what to do. The person who had ordered them was already in prison.

While everyone was puzzled and wondering what to do, a middle-aged man reasonably approached Alex.

"Excuse me, are you Mr. Russell?" the man asked politely.

"Yes, that's me," Alex confirmed.

With this, the polite middle-aged man nodded. He was Albert, the director of the bank. He wasn't originally on duty here; he was on vacation. However, he was dragged by the higher-ups to deal with the mess created by the corrupt manager.

Albert then looked at Alex and thought, "What kind of idiot is that manager? If he does so many bad things, why should he openly antagonize the gang? He should know that the gang has many ways to deal with him." Albert scoffed internally.

Little did he know that Baka had become good friends with the gangs in this city; he even had other gangs backing him. But he wasn't lucky to continue playing with Alex.

With this, Albert quickly facilitated all the things Alex needed. Even the staff who had previously scolded Alex were a little scared. However, anyone with a brain knew that all these things had happened because of people with connections to this guy.

"Okay, Mr. Russell, is there anything else I need to do for you?" Albert asked.

"Mr. Albert, can you help me set up payment by cell phone? I can't always come to the bank to pay," Alex requested.

Albert agreed to this and apologized for all the trouble that had occurred. Alex, who had resolved all the problems, finally felt at ease. His debts from the previous month and this month had been paid, and he no longer needed to worry about blacklists or any other related issues.

Alex then immediately went home.

Upon arriving at Alex's house, he immediately went to his farm and engaged in productive activities. At one point, Alex's phone rang.

"Yes, sir Ethan. Oh, have you arrived at the farm? Okay, I'll be right out."

With this, Alex hurried outside and saw a familiar figure.

"Hello, Mr. Russell. Good afternoon," greeted Ethan.

"Hello, Mr. Ethan. Good afternoon," Alex responded.

Alex then led Ethan to the farm. As Ethan looked around, he seemed unsure about the condition of Alex's farm, as it appeared somewhat unkempt.

"Well, Mr. Ethan, this is my peach tree. The fruit it bears is naturally good, though the quality may be slightly below that of the earlier vegetables," Alex explained.

Ethan frowned slightly upon hearing this because what he saw didn't match his expectations.

He thought that the fruits would be exquisite and boutique-like, but to his surprise, the peaches were small and looked even worse than cheap fruits sold in the market. Ethan felt a little displeased and believed that he had been conned.

"How could he blatantly deceive me?" Ethan thought.

"Mr. Russell, I apologize in advance, but are these the fruits that the orangutan Russell sells?" Ethan asked, trying to control his frustration.

"Yes, what's wrong, Mr. Ethan? Is it not enough? I didn't have a large quantity this time because I focused on quality over quantity," Alex responded.

Ethan couldn't help but curse under his breath, "What quality!"

Despite his frustration, Ethan remained calm and said to Alex, "Mr. Russell, if the quality of the fruit is like this, maybe I can't buy from you..."

"Ah..." Alex was taken aback by the unexpected turn of events.
