The Demon King laid aghast, his disbelief as thick as molten lava, oozing from his every pore.

His youth had withered away amidst rocky crags and monkey calls, all for the sake of a glory. 

He'd forsaken the laughter of townspeople, the sight of beautiful women, the warmth of everyday life—all to transform into a legend that would shake the world to its core. He'd dreamt of throngs of admirers, of countless beauties flocking to him. And yet, when he finally descended the mountain to carve his legend into the annals of history, fate had laughed in his face.
